Highly recommended, we satay for ten days. The staff, cleanliness, breakfast..., all perfect.
The location of the hotel is quiet, not noisy at night, and near to the Fontanilla beach, less than ten minutes walking.

We had an excellent week at the hotel Gran Conil and Spa. This is a big chain hotel but it’s staff is very friendly and accommodating and the service is actually very personal and great. The rooms are very spacious and the parking, if you’re traveling by car, is of a good size too. The hotel has an excellent pool, huge and never looked busy. It is very close to the beach too. We only had breakfast which was a very generous buffet. There are numerous first class restaurants on the beach and in town.

This is an excellent choice for those who love a relaxing beach holiday. The hotel is well organised with some carefully thought out strategies for ensuring a positive experience in these challenging times.
Rooms are well laid out. Staff are efficient and personable and the breakfasts are plentiful with great variety.
It is s a quiet location within easy walking distance of the beach and bars and restaurants in the local area.
We have been many times and will return once again in 2022

So, I want to be clear from the start that this review is specific to my experience with the spa.
I was not a guest of the hotel during this visit, only sought the spa services while staying in town.
Firstly, the staff was mega friendly, kind and helpful. My issue was with having to pay 50% of the cost of my requested spa services just to make an appointment, the fact that this was a luxury hotel yet we were not offered water or warm tea or towels upon entry or while waiting for our spa service, and the worst part, the massage was extraordinarily unsatisfactory.
Having reserved the deep tissue (and as an avid spa goer) I was not impressed with the service provided. There were some solid attempts to hit pressure points but that was the primary focus... not the long deep strokes and concentrated circular motions to break and dispel muscular knots. It was 50 minutes and she managed to stroke my back a few times, pressure point my neck and skull, ask me to turnover and touched my scalp for a bit.
Oh she also left the room twice without real explanation and upon returning the second time she announced the service had concluded and then tried to upsell me a body cream for my dry cracked skin (which I don’t have)...
Yea, exactly. I just sort of left with questions about what just happened more than being relaxed.
I tipped the woman because I’m human and ofc told her it was fine when asked because what are you really supposed to say? But for the price paid it was extremely lackluster.

+1
The hotel is quite overcrowded and not a lot to do for couples. Our room was between the C and D buildings and one floor above ground which was good location, but we saw that some rooms face directly the pool or restaurant. Paid parking under the hotel is convenient, try to park as near as possible to your room area. The pool area was so busy that we took the towels and went to the beach. One evening we went for the buffet dinner, it had enough choice but it's really busy. Same with breakfast, sufficient choice but a lot of people and some queues. The coffee they bring to the table is pointless, there are bean based machines inside. The other evening we went to the nearby city centre for dinner and it had a lot of places to eat at. 320+ euros for bed and breakfast felt overpriced even during high season. Would not visit again at this price.

I'm always honest with my reviews and not confrontational. As we arrived we checked it only to discover that the hotel demanded a further 50 euros for my son. Let's be clear the room was 250 euros for 2 nights and we paid an additional 150 for my son. We booked through hotels.com.
After 15 minutes or so and as we stood our ground the hotel relented. We stated that we adhered to the booking criteria and the issue was between the hotel and the booking agency as the hotel stated that an adult was 12 years an over, however on the hotels.com website it was 17 years of age.
We were given our rooms. Ours was fine, clean and tidy and in good order. However my parents, my father whom is blind and we requested a walk in shower and proximity to reception were given a room far away from reception and when we got into the room, it had a bath and it wasn't accesible as we requested. We all walked back to the reception and were given an accessible room, however it was the only one available and again it was far from the reception and restaurant. This process of booking and processing is clearly not passed on to the hotel or ignored.
On a positive note the hotel is immaculate and the food is of good quality with a varied diet for many people.

The hotel is nothing otherworldly, yet it is modern and clean, and has everything you need, it also provides a sense of security.
There are many activitys you can do within and outside of the hotel.
It is in an excellent location with directly being connected to the beatiful beach of conil by a wooden path, and also being right next to where all the bars and establishments of conil are.
The pool is clean and bigand has enough seats with shadow for everybody.
The breakfast has an excellent buffet which has more than hat you could ask for and the quality is also very good.
The restaurant has very good food quality and you are served quickly,
The highlight of the stay I would say though is the staff, everyone is so nice and kind even the cleaning staff and specificly in a natural way it actually seems like they enjoy helping the guest have a nice stay

Although a large modern hotel, most importantly, the staff were always friendly and helpful. Although the English visitors were very much in a minority, reflected in the varying language capability of the staff and lack of English TV channels, communication was not an issue as a smile and staff eager to help was ever present. A short walk to the huge clean beach and lively town centre took 10-15 minutes. The buffet was plentiful and efficiently run.

We stayed for four nights in August and booked to full sea view rooms and one was upgraded to an appartement with an adjoining living room between the two double rooms which had a very large balcony. View from room was great though most of the side sea view rooms have a good view. We stayed once before 9 years ago when the hotel was only 4 years old and everything is still great. Around 60% of the guests are Spanish and about 25% German with a mixture of others and just a few British guests. The hotel has a very large pool about 25 m x 25 m and great advantage of having a majority of Spanish guests are that they do not reserve sun beds. The north Europeans only start reserving sun beds from around 9:15 so at 11:30 there are still a few free sun loungers by the pool. The hotel is great, very friendly and helpful staff, extremely clean and well maintained hotel. The buffet breakfasts and dinners have extremely good food with a lot of choice. For dinner there are 3 grilled meat and 3 fish options grilled to order each day plus many other options. Great freshly cooked omelettes for breakfast. The animation team are good with options such as volleyball and water polo plus many others . They have paddle tennis courts to hire for €20 for 90 minutes including hire of balls and rackets. The drinks are reasonable for a 4 star hotel. €4 a large beer, €3.50 sangria and € 8 for nice cocktails. There are also kids clubs for young children and teenagers. We would strongly recommend this hotel to everyone

We have just experienced an extremely restful and satisfying stay at The Gran Conil.
All the staff, reception, cleaning, food and entertainment were marvelous without exception. The room are very organised and the beds comfortable with a selection of pillows. I would suggest a room with sea view. The bathroom came with plenty of good usables.
Despite the different nationalities there were several sunbeds available and there were several different areas. The children's play area looked well organised and the staff were cheerful and helpful, I wanted to play but was too old and the chairs were too small and would have broken if I had sat.
The restaurant was so efficient and the food diverse and tempting, with plenty of choice.
The bar were well stocked and the staff very attentive.
The entertainment was varied from mesmerising flamenco, to a an extremely strange Elvis tribute. The singer and machine appeared to be operated by electricity, which when switched on, made the machine and produce a song and the singer to spasmodically twitch.
Although nothing to do with the hotel there was a strange habit amongst some guests in the restaurant who sat next to each other, like in a cinema, so they could inspect all the other guests
Parking can be achieved in or outside the hotel
