This resort is like no other. The owners and staff go out of their way to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. They give you tourist information, provide advice and get to know you. We had such wonderful dinners with other guests, staff and the owners. The chef prepared f

La Casella worked well for us, a couple and one single. We knew, in advance, that the roads were gravel and windy, and like this type of area for the quietness, etc. We did have thick fog 3 days during our trip which made travel more difficult but were still able to get out and

I would simply advise.....stay away! To begin with, the road in is 20 minutes of dirt with many, many pot holes everywhere. The main area could be very nice but the lights were off both day and night making it very uninviting. The very expensive breakfast ($17) and dinner ($35) w

Make sure you have a car for this vacation. It is 6 kilometers up a dirt road. A great place to enjoy the living in Umbria. The 5 course dinner was amazing. The staff were very friendly and tried to please. They remembers after a day how you wanted your coffee and your name.

We have spent a very good week in the La Casella Resort. The breakfast was good, the dinner was amazing. Travelling there was ok even after a week of hard rains all over Italy. The people were very kind.

Hello, What is the best way to get to La Casella ? Do I have to take a train? We are coming from San Marco Venice. We will be there on the Nov 11. Thank you
if you get their by train they use to have a car that can get you. Ask. If you drive, read my note and DO NOT follow the garmine.

I booked through RCI and it said nothing of the breakfast and dinner fee. is this an optional fee, as I plan on touring and may not be around for dinner. I don't want to pay a fee for food. I would rather get food where ever Im touring that day.
We found it compulsory . We paid for half board. it is a long way from anywhere so it was good. Breakfast was light but dinners were excellent

I was looking at this resort via RCI for an exchange and it shows fees of $45 per day per person. Did you pay this in addition to the posted rate and if so, what does it cover? Thank you!
Yes. It pays for breakfast and the 5-course dinner, which you don't want to miss.

hi.Im planning a trip there in november. do they have a shuttle from the airport to the hotel, and do I need a rental car to get around to all the sites or is there public trans to the main sites? thanks
No shuttle that I know of. We had a rental car to get around to places such as Orvieto, Assis, Siena, Perugia, etc. We did take a train from Fabro (nearest town to La Casella) to Florence. If you can, you may be able to arrange for someone to pick you up in Fabro at the train station, but then you won't have a car to get you to the various towns and cities in Umbria. You can google "tours by locals in Umbria" and maybe find people who will take you around to places - for a proce, of course.

Hi, I would like to know & verify if there is any children's pool and playground on site (I did not see it on any of the resort pictures). Also, any refrigerator in a 1unit bedroom with partial kitchen accommodation? We have a 2 1/2 yrs old who is still drinking milk and we need a fridge primarily for that. Thanks for any reply.
"All the rooms are good; some require a car"
"All the rooms are great.. if you like a bed with a canopy ask for it"
"2 bedroom comes with all luxuries of home except dishwasher"
"Rooms near the main lobby are best- they're close to the pool and the dining room, and you might get some accidental free wifi!"
"Some lodgings are quite remote- good to ask questions when booking."
