FIrst off, definitely not a 4 star hotel. The double bed we got were just two twins we had to shove together, the beds are not comfortable, the AC sometimes gets error messages and stops cooling properly. The floor I think is not well soundproofed, we were constantly woken by someone moving something upstairs, like louder than if they were in the very same room with us. The parking area is too small for the amount of card so be prepared to squeeze it into the most weird difficult spot in the courtyard, but at least you can still park it within, outside there is a lot of public parking but it looks kind of sketchy. The Wifi didnt reach our rooms, so we had no internet.

The good parts: the pool is amazing, you can just relax in the beds with umbrellas and have an amazing time there, the pool is immaculate and makes for a great place to relax. And if you walk a couple of meters further they have beds and umbrellas at the beach as it is beachfront.
The fact that this part is so amazing, it really is such a pity that they don't upgrade the rest of the hotel (i.e. the rooms) to go along with how nice it is when you are outside.

And a warning: the restaurant is overpriced for less than average quality food, don't eat here.

This hotel is well suited for a quiet beach holiday, but also as a starting point for excursions. It's just outside, so renting a car is recommended. It can get quite crowded on weekends when family celebrations are coming up. Then it is also very difficult to get a parking space, as virtually the whole place is parked. The large parking lot in front of the hotel is also hopelessly crowded.
Only at second glance can you see that the hotel is already a bit worn out, squeaking doors, worn-out toilet flushing, wobbling ladder by the pool. The rooms are also very noisy. The TV only offers Italian channels. The air conditioning worked almost too well, unfortunately you could not turn it off.
The cleanliness of the rooms was good, only in the dining room we noticed the quite dingy, floor-length undercloths on the tables. The small blankets on top were changed after each guest. Some chairs also had "menus menus". The dining room was well air conditioned.
We only booked breakfast, so we can't say anything about dinner. However, there are many restaurants in the vicinity. We can recommend the beach bar "Kenya" and in the center "Cu mangia fa mudricchi" if you want good cuisine but not overpriced haute cuisine. The breakfast buffet was adequate, the emphasis was on cakes and pastries. The coffee was served, and contrary to other experiences was quite drinkable. The waitresses were very friendly, and constantly tried to replenish the buffet and respond to the wishes of guests. The lady at the reception was also very friendly and spoke some German. The gentlemen there were rather verbose and a little stuffy.
There were always plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas at the pool and beach. The path to the water was a bit far, and the beach not well suited for swimming, as there are many rock slabs in the water. Also, the seabed falls very slowly, so you have to walk very far out for swimming. It is better to choose a different beach or pool for swimming.
We recommend this place more for couples as we have not seen anything especially for children. There was also no animation, which we personally really liked.
On the whole, we liked our stay at this hotel, but we couldn't tell the difference from a 3 star hotel. We therefore found the price a bit overpriced.

We stayed at the hotel first week of November coming to the end of season in Minori and booked before reading into the hotel as we found a good deal. It’s worth knowing before booking that the hotel does not have parking available and our parking costs equated to approx 100 euros for the week which we did not anticipate. Additionally the use of the pool was not available due to the time of the year which was frustrating as the temperatures were still as high as 22/23 degrees. Furthermore, the room was hot and the air conditioning units do not work after November, we were simply told to open the balcony doors for fresh air. It should be noted that the noise of the traffic outside the hotel even out of peak season made it feel like i was sleeping on an F1 track. The plug sockets were irritatingly situated in the room, only 2 available which was awkward when trying to charge phones and no where near the bed when relaxing. The hotel was spotlessly clean, with fresh bedding and towels every day - the housekeepers do a fantastic job there. All the staff were very pleasant and welcoming, I just wish we visited Minori in the summer to appreciate the hotel fully.

Almost poor service, surly and unkind staff, poor quality food despite dishes that are easy to prepare and require few resources, the food did not meet my expectations at all, making me sick. My room was almost clean except for the floor (full of dirt and food remains that weren't ours). There is an extreme deadline and commitment on the part of the staff, unwilling to satisfy the few, and easy to agree to, requests, in fact after 4 days the towels, supplied by the staff, were not changed despite having been requested by us .

We stayed here for 5 nights, in a superior room with sea view, large terrace with two deckchairs available for sunbathing in total relaxation (I suggest something to ensure there is more privacy between one terrace and another). At the reception we were well received by explaining the services of the structure. I usually check the cleanliness first of all and I must say that it is the jewel in the crown. Rooms perfect and scented every day. Congratulations!!! The entire surrounding area of the structure is also quite clean. Vast and abundantly international breakfast. The peculiarity of the structure is that by going down 5 steps you find yourself on the beach. Fantastic!!! The only flaw found in the pool area. "Absent" presence of the lifeguard! We arrived on Monday, lovely pool, on Tuesday it rains, if you don't implement the motors and immediate recirculation with the robot operating in the evening/night phase, there is a risk of having an unpleasant-coloured swimming pool! Little attention is also paid to removing pigeon feathers from the water. Only done after a reminder! Lacks a mindset in care of detail. Little attention even in serving the customer when opening the umbrella. Being called back by the receptionist who sees our need from afar is to say the least. The end of August does not mean the end of the season! For everything else I recommend it for those who really want to relax in the peace of mind.Top!

It is located on the beach in Porto Empedocle, it is advisable to have a vehicle because there are no shops nearby.

The hotel is older but well maintained.

The room is somewhat small and with old decor, it has a very nice small balcony with a view of the sea.

The bathroom is comfortable.

The breakfast is a little poor for the category of the hotel but it is not bad.

The wifi is slow.
There is free uncovered parking.

Friendly staff.
Excellent cleaning.

I stayed at the Hotel Villa Romana for 10 days with my family, my cat and friends. Overall the holiday was very positive. Porto Empedocle, where the structure is located, gives the opportunity to move easily to know beaches and villages of western Sicily. The hotel Villa Romana is 15 minutes from the beautiful city of Agrigento which gives a unique view of the Valley of the Temples. Also worth seeing is Sciacca with its Shopping Streets, Piazza Armerina which is one of the most beautiful medieval villages in Italy (it is also one of the oldest Roman villas in Sicily) and Recommendation to continue to visit the beautiful Caltagirone famous for its ceramics.
The staff at the Villa Romana hotel is friendly and welcoming.
An applause to the maitre Loredana helpful, smiling and professional.
Half Pension Recommendation because the pride of the hotel is the food. Chef Calogero is a champion. Breakfast is varied between sweet and savory Spectacular are the meat and especially fish dishes cooked with skill that in the evening delighted our taste buds. We did not regret choosing the formula in Half Pension ... indeed.
Great variety and quality of raw materials, carefully chosen.
The property, which is practically on the beach, is spacious and pretty although
could use some renovation work.

Hotel very well maintained. Cleanliness impeccable. The staff is very smiling. The rooms are classic, quite spacious with a beautiful sea view, beautiful terraces and efficient air conditioning. The bedding is very good. Breakfast is varied (fresh fruit, pastries, eggs...). Half board is of good quality (from the map). The choice is enough for a few days. The beach is very nice, easy for swimming.
If Porto Empedocle is of no interest, the hotel offers the advantage of being able to walk (25 minutes) by the beach to the Scala dei Turchi.

Stayed here with Albatross tours. To say he staff were rude was an understatement. From the restaurant wait staff who were rude and have no idea of customer service and the staff at the pool. It was a point of discussion each day not only with our tour group but others also, as to how bad it would be the next day.
The rudeness continued at the pool, where several of our tour group were told off for not booking a chair at the pool. The pool area only had a couple of guests at the time.
I shared a room with my sister. The room was too small for two individuals and there was no room to put our suitcases.
Food choices for those with allergies are very limited. Breakfast on the last day consisted of a few unappealing chucks of fruit.
The best thing about our stay was checking out and moving on..

This was a good base for exploring the area. We stayed 3 nights in a room with a very marginal sea view, though others have better so specify you want a full view in your booking! Easy access to the beach. The restaurant is well priced and food was excellent. Very nice house and restaurant staff, but the reception staff could do with some charm training.
