Modern hotel, really nice room with good storage for a short stay. We arrived a little too early as we expected problems crossing the border from France to Germany (due to Covid & Brexit) but there was no one at the crossing and we did not even have to stop. The guy at reception spoke great English and was so lovely and super helpful. We were very stressed organising this trip and had actually booked the wrong month on our booking which he quickly sorted out for us, on top of being very kind and letting us check in early. He also, with a quick phone call, sorted out where we could get our Green Emissions sticker from which we needed for the car later in the holiday, and sent us off with directions about 5 minutes up the road to the correct place. Coffee making in the room. Could also get coffee and drinks and alcoholic drinks in the bar in the hotel and a limited selection of meals, nice dining room and lovely patio area at the back. Great shower, but like one of the comments below, no matter how careful you are the water ends up all over the bathroom floor, also from the tap which is located outside the sink, the water drips all over the floor. We have found both these designs in a lot of the hotels so it is not just here. For the brits, you could get CNN and British news on the TV. Ample out door parking. A McDonalds and Brew Pub (good beer and OK food, large portions german pub grub) within a minutes walking distance of the hotel. Breakfast was very good with everything you could want, with the lovely Bircher Muesli, even pancakes if you so desired, nothing hot!! It was buffet style (covid times), my only comment is that if anywhere is doing a buffet they should only allow adults in the area and not children, there was only one whilst we were there and the parent was letting him mess about with the bread, which in these times I do not think is a good idea. I have given 4 stars only because of the bed which for us was rock hard, such a shame, really could do with a thick topper pad to make it more comfortable.

This hotel is probably the best HI express we know. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. There is a big free carpark. Clean and comfortable rooms. No proper restaurant, just for breakfast and some light meals, but there is a good lounge and, when the weather allows it , a beautiful garden with comfortable places to sit for breakfast, a evening drink or just to relax. There is a Mac Donalds and a brewery restaurant (also with a good garden) just minutes walk away. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is because of the rather thin pillow and the fact that the glass partition in the shower isn't wide enough to stop the water completely Recommended.

We booked this place because it's fairly new (true, but...) and because we expected it to be easy to get to and from (very wrong). There is a major construction and road closure right by the hotel, making it VERY difficult to get and from it - which their web site (intentionally, one is led to guess) tells you nothing about. Despite being quite new, the hotel was evidently built on the cheap because the walls are paper-thin and you can hear every cough in the adjacent rooms. Even at the rates they charge that's below standard. The rooms are also very small, with absolutely no cupboard space, no towel racks in the bathroom, and no amenities (other than a dispenser of all-purpose soap). Breakfast was handled reasonably well regarding the Covid situation, with assigned tables spaced reasonably far apart, and all food being delivered to the table instead of buffets.

On a two days stay in the Merzig area I was very happy to stay in this hotel. Due to COVID-19 some changes have been made and I felt safe. The staff is friendly, the room was nice and quiet. For breakfast You order what you want and it is served at your table in the morning (no buffet of course). I recommend it.

Very convenient from the highway, clean and quiet. Breakfast was very good, well stocked with a variety of food and nicely maintained. The staff was very pleasant. Definitely recommended. It’s an easy walk to the center of the town and restaurants.
