Our stay at Le Patio was wonderful. Having worked in the deluxe five-star hotel industry we looked for flaws and couldn’t find any. On the contrary; every possible need is thought of with amazing attention to detail. The bedrooms and all other areas are immaculate and spacious, beautifully and comfortably furnished, including the peaceful rear patio where we enjoyed delicious two course dinners with wine. The breakfasts were plenty and yummy; fresh bread and viennoiseries, topped off with local fruits, home-made jams and honey, cheeses, yoghurt and cereals, fresh eggs. Nicky and Paul gave us very good advice about the regional highlights of our interest and how to get there. They are exceptionally welcoming, extremely attentive and genuinely caring; the perfect hosts who made us feel at home!

What an absolute pleasure it was to stay at Le Patio. Definitely one of the best experiences we've ever had at a B&B. The communication right from our initial enquiry through to our stay was exemplary. Nicky and Paul have created the ultimate B&B experience and their attention to detail is second to none. The quality fittings, furnishings, linen, and towels made us feel very spoiled. The lovingly prepared breakfasts are delicious and very substantial with locally sourced pastries and breads, home made yogurts and jams, fresh eggs, local fruits, a selection of teas and strong coffee. It really does set you up for the day ahead. It was also nice and relaxing each evening to enjoy a cold beer or glass of wine in the peaceful, quiet rear courtyard complete with an array of comfortable lounges. We will have very fond memories of our stay at Le Patio for years to come and we encourage everyone to see for themselves what a truly remarkable experience this is.

We stayed at Le Patio for seven nights on a B&B board. This beautiful accommodation is located in a small but perfectly formed village. It’s location is great for touring the Dordogne and Charente regions. We chose ‘La Place’ as our bedroom which was huge, comfortable and tastefully decorated. Nicky and Paul, our hosts put a lot of thought into Le Patio. Luxury toiletries, sumptuous breakfasts using local and homemade produce. Excellent service in all aspects to our stay. Paul cooked us a couple of evening meals which were good value for money and delicious. Nicky and Paul were attentive without being intrusive. They suggested various places to visit, which we did and were happy with their recommendations. This couple are an excellent team that go the extra mile for their guests. I would recommend couples to base themselves here if you are having a driving tour of the regions. Le Patio is definitely worth a return visit.

We were lucky enough to spend a glorious week at Le Patio with Nicky and Paul . From the moment we arrived, Nicky and Paul were the perfect hosts and made our stay extra special. We stayed in the Le Jardin room which overlooked the beautiful patio area. Our room was beautifully decorated with every touch thought of to make our stay a memorable one. We thought the room was spacious until we entered the bathroom and WOW! We had no words, it was huge! The special touches in the bedroom and bathroom were wonderful. The White Company bedding, bath robes and towels were sumptuous along with the amazingly invigorating shower with the most amazing French shower gel! Breakfast every morning was a delight, and we were treated to the most delicious bread, pastries, home-made jams and yoghurt. As Le Patio is also a Chambre d'hote, we were able to eat with Nicky and Paul on 3 occasions during our stay. Paul is an amazing cook and made the most wonderful meals; the food was amazing and nothing was too much trouble (I'm the fussy eater!) . It was lovely to sit and chat with Nicky and Paul on an evening and enjoy a glass of wine. We came away with so much advice (we were house hunting in France) and we felt like we had enjoyed much more than a holiday, but we had made friends too. I can't recommend Le Patio enough, there's so much I could say but I don't have enough characters! Nicky and Paul are much more than wonderful hosts, but genuinely lovely people who pride themselves on making your trip full of memories. We will be back!

We had a fantastic stay at Le Patio shortly before Christmas. Lovely huge clean and comfortable room which came with our very own Christmas tree. And a delicious breakfast too. Hosts Nicky and Paul looked after us exceedingly well and we very strongly recommend you stay at Le Patio if you are in the area

We arrived at Le Patio several hours later than expected and although it was late at night by that time, we were so well looked after, which was very welcome after a long and arduous journey!
The hosts, Nicky and Paul, were attentive throughout our stay, without being obtrusive.
The rooms are beautifully appointed and very comfortable with gorgeous bed linen, super soft towels and thoughtful touches such as UK to Europe socket adapters.
Breakfast is amazing with a great choice from an array of fresh and dried fruit, homemade yogurt and jams, fresh bread, boulangerie items and lovely cheese and cold meats.
The garden is a lovely place to sit and have a read with a drink - when it’s warm enough!
Overall, the feel is of an unpretentious boutique hotel, where together with the gorgeous surroundings, the genuine warmth of the welcome makes you feel very relaxed.
It’s really well placed for exploring the Dordogne as well as neighbouring departments.
We were so glad to be able to visit during these difficult times and the precautions being taken were very evident and reassuring.
Can’t recommend this place highly enough!

Repeat stay in Le Patio after a visit some years back. Amazing location in a stunning and quaint village house; warmly welcomed back by hosts, Nicky and Paul. Food was delicious, locally sourced and in many cases organic. Eating in the private, secluded garden was a pleasure and we had a great time visiting various quaint and pretty villages in the surrounding area. It’s difficult to say what makes this place great - the hosts, the food, the rooms, the location. Everything. Definitely worth a visit!

Had a fabulous stay here for four nights. Was in the area specifically to attend a wedding but we were able to drive around the area too. Our excellent hosts, Paul and Nicky recommended visiting Brantôme market on the Friday morning and then onto Perigueux to walk through the old streets before viewing the amazing cathedral there. Le Patio was a wonderful base, Paul and Nicky could not have been more welcoming and attentive. Our room was lovely with a fabulous ensuite bathroom/dressing room. The breakfasts were delicious offering a variety of dried fruits, nuts, granola, muesli and homemade yoghurt. Eggs cooked to your liking with delicious fresh bread and a good selection of home made jams. Can’t wait to book again!!

This place is really lovely to stay at. Our room was very spacious, one of the largest we have ever stayed in, and well appointed with a large bathroom as well. We opted for evening meals most nights and were not disappointed. Paul and Nicky certainly know how to provide lovely meals, as good as you will get anywhere in a good quality restaurant. The overall feeling was of a really quiet and very well run place which was also very quiet. We would definitely recommend and would stay again.

Seldom have we received a warmer welcome in a B&B (UK) or a Chambre d'hôtes (F). Everything was more than we could wish for. We had reserved the larger room but because of the rising temperature Nicky advised us to take the Jardin side, which was cooler, We had two evening meals with our hosts and it must be said: Paul is an excellent cook and entertainer. Breakfast was more than enough with local products wherever possible. We can only recommend The Patio and if we are in the neighbourhood again, this will be our accommation!
Thanks, Nicky and Paul!
