Booked a lake view room with two double beds Arrived to find it is two single beds, staff tried to tell us that a double bed is in fact a single bed After a bit of a challenge they apologised for the mid communication gave us a room with one king bed, partial lake view but it had stains on the newly pressed bed sheets yuck liquids residue on its walls etc, check out the pics, and yes it was during a level 2 COVID in NZ
Helpful staff. Clean comfortable well appointed room with awesome lake view. Off street parking. Had to change number of folk and type of room from original booking. When I phoned the gentleman was excellent with a new recommendation to a King Room Suite. Room was superb.
We booked Peppers McKenzie room for our wedding reception. The service was friendly, helpful and prompt. The food was delicious and they were very helpful with dietary needs. Clean and spacious rooms with a beautiful view of the lake topped off a wonderful weekend
My wife and I were touring New Zealand, on a 15-day tour arranged through Travelmarvel by APT, and so all hotel arrangements were made in advance by them. For that reason, I have no idea of the cost of the room or how well the hotel communicates with customers making direct bookings. Also, as we were arriving in a group of over 40 people, it was not possible for the staff to show us all to our rooms, and it took us a few minutes to work out, on the map, exactly where our block was. Once we did find our apartment, we were impressed by it. It was on two levels, with the bedroom and bathroom both upstairs. It was very well set out and we were sad that we only had one night here. The room had a comfortable bed, iron & ironing board, televisions on both levels, a fridge/freezer, a dishwasher and a coffee machine with Café Nero pods, plus free wifi. The bathroom was very nice and had underfloor heating, which was much appreciated so far down on South Island. On the lower floor we had a terrace which could be accessed from the lounge, and upstairs we had a balcony accessed from the bedroom. As I said previously, we really would have liked an extra couple of nights here, but this was the final night of our tour and on the following morning we all had to head to Christchurch to go our separate ways. We found the staff friendly, especially considering the size of our group, all waiting to check in at the same time. We ate as a group, for our farewell dinner, in a function suite that was located only a few yards from our room and the food was good, as well as plentiful. Being from Scotland, it is unlikely that we will ever find ourselves down at Lake Tekapo again, but I’d happily stay at Peppers Bluewater if we ever do return.…
The apartment was the 2 story one with view of the lake. Dinner was very good with restaurant staff very good and had breakfast under level 2 alert the next morning so was restricted but the poor staff had to run around like blueass flies but still got our breakfast quite quckly in the circumstances. Reception for booking in and departing was very good, The room, although a little pricey, suited us to the ground so overall a very good 4 night stay.
