We stayed here for two nights while on honeymoon and the location is pretty good. The staff were friendly and upon check in we were upgraded to a room with a small kitchen. This was handy as breakfast wasn’t included in our booking so it allowed us to get bread and fruit etc from the supermarket nearby. We also cooked in for dinner to save some money but struggled as there were no baking trays to cook with!
We used the on site laundry facilities and were lucky to find them not in use. They provide small sachets of liquid detergent but there are only two machines for the whole hotel and they really could do with being replaced. The ones I had at university were much better!
Overall pretty good stay, the rooms were clean, had AC and the location pretty good so overall would recommend

We stayed for 2 nights in a 1 bedroom apartment. The apartment was a duplex, with a spacious living area downstairs comprising a sitting area with dining table and a well equipped kitchenette. The bedroom upstairs was relatively small, although it did have quite a good storage area, but the main space was downstairs. The apartment was modern and well appointed with a clean decor.
However, what let the hotel down was the service issues we experienced. We arrived at 4:20 to be told our room had not yet been cleaned and would not be ready till around 5pm, despite check in being 2pm. The receptionist was good in finding us another room, although it faced onto the back of Reception, which was not ideal. We then had to call the cleaners back to empty the bins from the previous guests. The really should not happen in a hotel of this calibre. Service elsewhere was patchy.
We ate dinner in on one night, which was good. The breakfast was very ordinary for the same price as other hotels provide a far better breakfast. Overall, it is a hotel that is very nicely built, let down by its housekeeping issues.

This is not a resort in any sense, it is a motel. The rooms are cheaply fitted, the whole place feels quite downmarket and the prices are very high. Wi fi reception is a joke. I constantly had to input codes as reception around the motel was so poor and cut off all the time( note this is WiFi reception not internet- the remote location is irrelevant ,something the sweet receptionist couldn’t grasp!)

Had a 2 bed lake view apartment. The view is over the road towards ugly restaurant buildings.

Breakfast was truly horrible, tinned fruit-classy!

Yet another dreadful Accor run hotel.

I wouldn’t bother staying here. Checkout is 10am the earliest I have ever encountered, having said that am glad to leave!

My wife and I were touring New Zealand, on a 15-day tour arranged through Travelmarvel by APT, and so all hotel arrangements were made in advance by them. For that reason, I have no idea of the cost of the room or how well the hotel communicates with customers making direct bookings. Also, as we were arriving in a group of over 40 people, it was not possible for the staff to show us all to our rooms, and it took us a few minutes to work out, on the map, exactly where our block was. Once we did find our apartment, we were impressed by it. It was on two levels, with the bedroom and bathroom both upstairs. It was very well set out and we were sad that we only had one night here. The room had a comfortable bed, iron & ironing board, televisions on both levels, a fridge/freezer, a dishwasher and a coffee machine with Café Nero pods, plus free wifi. The bathroom was very nice and had underfloor heating, which was much appreciated so far down on South Island.

On the lower floor we had a terrace which could be accessed from the lounge, and upstairs we had a balcony accessed from the bedroom. As I said previously, we really would have liked an extra couple of nights here, but this was the final night of our tour and on the following morning we all had to head to Christchurch to go our separate ways. We found the staff friendly, especially considering the size of our group, all waiting to check in at the same time. We ate as a group, for our farewell dinner, in a function suite that was located only a few yards from our room and the food was good, as well as plentiful. Being from Scotland, it is unlikely that we will ever find ourselves down at Lake Tekapo again, but I’d happily stay at Peppers Bluewater if we ever do return.

The hotel is perfectly located just across lake Tekapo. It only takes 10-min to walk to the church just by crossing the bridge. The view from the window is beautiful. The 2-floor unit is perfect for couple and family holidays, as the bedroom is conveniently located on the 1st fl. Kitchen, dining table, sofa, TV are on the 2nd floor. You can also sit on the balcony, admiring the beautiful view of the lake and enjoy the moment. There is a bathtub there and everything in the room is of high quality. The breakfast is delicious too. This is the best accomodation if you want to stay near Lake Tekapo & shoot the milky way and Church at night.

We got an apartment room with bedroom and bathroom upstairs and kitchen, living room downstairs. It was nice but not very clean. We were close to reception building which was good in morning for breakfast but also noisy from all Chinese tourists.
WiFi was free up to 200 mb which is approximately 20 min on iPad. So we felt misled by the “free”WiFi.
Close to village center. Food ok both breakfast and the dinner we had there on Christmas Day. We could wash close to apartment which was complementary and detergent was free too.
Comfy beds. Beautiful village. Stargazing we did one evening and we recommend it warmly.
I hade 80 dollars put on room which they did not notice at checkout and I almost paid to much. I am glad I asked if they had reduced the bill with that money.
If we ever go back to lake Tekapo we will try to find other accommodation.

Booked 2 hotel rooms side by side and just up the stairs from the reception with convenient parking just outside. We only got 1 set of keys but they will give a second set if you ask.
Mid July there's ice on the car windows in the mornings but the hotel will lend you a scraper! Rooms are a good size but the bathrooms are massive - almost too big. Double vanity basins with fully tiled shower complete with shower rain head (not the normal shower rose) & full size bath which provides a convenient place to drape towels, clothes, togs, etc. Underfloor heating & german taps complete the luxurious comfort. The bathroom door was full height frameless frosted glass which looks very chic but impractical as it relies on floor pivots which from experience needs constant maintenance. Our door would not stay open and needed to be wedged.
Our room had a balcony that overlooked a large pond which iced over one morning which didnt seem to deter the ducks. WIFI is open with no password but if you need more secured internet, the reception will give access to a password protected network. Windows are double glazed and with a heatpump, the room is cosy and warm. There are a couple of small armchairs but perhaps a normal chair would be better to be able to use the TV credenza as a desk.
Breakfast is pretty standard fare with usual cooked and continental menu but can fully recommend the Greedy Cow just down the road for breakfast. The baked beans are very tasty!

We stayed at Peppers Bluewater over Queens Birthday Weekend just after the move to Level 2 and it is by far one of the most scenic resorts in New Zealand.

Our room was a lakefront villa which is fantastically located right at the front of the complex, giving breathtaking views over Lake Tekapo and the surrounding mountains. We were able to watch the sun rise from our upstairs living room.

The rooms themselves are fantastic. The bedrooms were spacious and comfortable. There was plenty of space in the upstairs living room and we really appreciated having the complete sky package to help keep kids entertained. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you need to base yourself in the hotel for a decent amount of time if you are there on a long holiday. There is a decent sized dining table as well to gather the family around. The pod coffee is always greatly appreciated too. Heating was also very easy and efficient to use.

The one downside to the stay was the service. We understand it was busy but we didn't have staff to properly show us around and explain the area which is laid out in quite a confusing manner. Also on our final night there staff decided to call us at 9:30PM after our toddler was asleep, waking him him, to inform us to just drop our key off on the way out. It took a long time to get him back to sleep and made our night worse than it could have been. I highly suggest checking to see if a room has a young child in it before ringing that late.

Overall I highly recommend staying here, it can be quite expensive but it is worth the view.

I booked a room with two beds- expensive at around $250. Check in was slow. Travelling with my adult son we were looking forward to a nice room. I checked before I left reception that there were two beds and was assured, in a somewhat annoyed tone, that there were. Well there was just one bed and the room was so small there was no where to put a single suitcase, let alone the two we bought with us. 45 minutes (10 of which were spent listening to the person serving me in an animated discussion with his supervisor in a tiny office behind the reception desk) and $150 later we were in a 2 bedroom accommodation. So now we are looking at $400 for the night. That same room was available for $315 on hotels.com. Ok, so I take the second bedroom and once again, the king size bed takes up the whole space. I can’t open my suitcase unless it is on the bed. Worse, there was a bank of four air conditioning units on the wall outside the room. They were so noisy I couldn’t sleep, nor could I open the tiny window as it had been permanently closed.

I booked the hotel through an online website even though I am an Accor plus member. I asked the receptionist if they honoured the 50% dining deal for Accor Plus members and he said he doubted it as I had not booked the accommodation through Accor. My question was in relation to this being an NZ hotel and this was my second night in the country - you don’t have to be staying at an Accor hotel to access the dining benefit of the expensive membership program. Ok, so my question could have been more accurately stated, however it pointed out that they don’t even know the basics of their own loyalty and rewards programs, let alone how many beds there are in their rooms.

This was our last stop in NZ before travelling to Christchurch airport. When we arrived we were told that we had been upgraded to an apartment with a lakeside view. This was very welcome news and we found the accommodation to be clean, spacious, well equipped and very comfortable. There was a dishwasher and a washing machine which enabled us to sort out our laundry before leaving. There is also a guest laundry on site.
Breakfast was a little disappointing and spoiled the experience. The continental selection was absolutely fine but the cooked items were definitely unappealing.
Service was very good and responsive. The hotel is currently undergoing some renovations in places and so some building noise could be heard from balconies etc. Additionally, there is quite a lot of construction going on in the village itself and we could hear noise from this. it didn’t really bother us as we were only there for a short while, but it might be a problem for some.

The village is a short walk from the hotel so it is possible to self-cater quite easily. Star-gazing events are available and also scenic helicopter flights.

Sorry to hear you didn't have a great time but I don't agree with the expectation that a hotel should provide medicinal drugs. They don't know your medical history or allergies. It really falls on the traveller to be prepared. I recommend bringing your own medication and research the places you are visiting before hand. As an example Lake Tekapo has less than 400 in population and is over 2 hours from a major city/town so they won't have the same facilities or opening hours as major towns or cities. Personally I think a big bed is a lot better than a small one, a small one can cause bad sleep and makes it hard when there are two people. The dust issue is not ideal but is pretty minor and can be fixed, not really a serious issue that people shouldn't stay.
