Three Rivers Lodge is modern, purpose built accommodation located 1.5km or a 2 minute drive from Tekapo village. Floor-to-ceiling windows provide picturesque views of the lake and surrounding mountains with no interruptions as the land between the Lodge and the lake is all reserve land. B&B rooms offer comfortable beds and en-suite bathrooms. All rooms are modern with heat pumps (air conditioning hot and cold), heated floors, LCD flat screen TVs, Sky TV including sports channels and free wireless internet. B&B rooms include a continental or full cooked breakfast. We also offer self-contained either 2 bedroom apartment or a 3 bedroom cottage. We have a mix of full uninterrupted views of the lake and surrounding mountains as well as partial views. The lodge is in a beautiful location overlooking the lake and a short walk to town.
The room was spacious and airy with large glass doors filling the room with light. There was space to sit outside to enjoy the view.
The room was spotless and well equipped.
There was a large bathroom. A suggestion would be to have bulk toiletries rather than the waste of little plastic bottles.

We spent 2 nights at Three Rivers in January. Our room was comfortable with a very nice shower room. Breakfast was good. We learnt our hostess were due to retire at the end of February and think maybe some of their enthusiasm was waning.
Great location just a short walk from the main town, beautiful view of the lake.

Really good stay. Room was a good size with everything required on hand. Hosts very helpful and gave useful information. Good location and great patio for star gazing. Breakfast very good. Easy walk into town.

This place is excellent, everything you need for a break in the routine.
Nice location with views, surprise yourself at nighttime with the beautiful sky full of stars and the calm of this place.

We spent two nights at this wonderful place. The view from the terrace onto the lake is just great. In the evening we enjoyed the clear sky and the stars of the Southern hemisphere. The hosts are really friendly and serve an excellent breakfast.

Located within walking distance of the village centre and with breathtaking views of Lake Tekapo and Mt John. Modern, clean and comfortable the thing that makes our stay stand out is the welcome afforded by Dennis and Joanne who open up their home to guests. Generous with their time it was clear that their priority is to make your stay as memorable as possible.

The lodge was well located within walking distance of restaurants and the lake. It was a 2 bedroom lodge. Place was clean and beds were comfortable . Amenities were pretty basic. 2 bedrooms had to share a bath. The toilet seat was wobbly. The owners were helpful with tips and things to do around the area.
The areas around Lake Tekapo, Mount Cook and Lake Pukaki were just gorgeous .
Best cafe in the area for brekkie was Run 76.

We stayed here for 1 night on our way to Queenstown.We arrived quite late in the evening, but the hosts were great, welcomed us and gave us some very useful tips on what to do in Lake Tekapo.
The room is quite large, with floor to ceiling windows that look out over the lake. The place is very new, so all the furniture and deco is new and clean.
It was great to have all the sky channels so we could watch a late night movie.
The cooked breakfast in the morning in the communal room, which is included, was just like home-made. The hosts are just great and we had such a great conversation, forgot about the time.
Really enjoyed the place, and would come back again.

I should have written this long ago as we were here in December 2012 but I have been very busy and unwell to update my travel review till now.
Lake Tekapo is a very beautiful place and Three Rivers Lodge is a very beautiful place to stay.
We have to book the 2 bedrooms apartment as we have 3 young kids. Upon arrival, I told my hubby I m going to love my stay cos the surrounding is just so picturesque. Joanne welcome us and led us to a separate house behind hers. Turn out that was our 2 bedrooms apartment. It was so new, stylish and tastefully furnished. Most of all it was sparkly clean and this is my top priority when I book any hotels.
There is free wifi and beds are comfortable. Washer is provided.
Joanne has a very cute dog Snoopy and my kids enjoyed playing throw & fetch with him. Such a friendly dog! Till now 9 months later, kids are still talking about Snoopy and the beautiful house!
I had always wanted to try b& b but with 3 kids, it was quite impossible. I asked if Joanne could cook us breakfast for a fee so that I can experience b&b for once. She kindly agreed and we had nice hott brekkie with other guests the next day in her house. It was nice of her to arrange a separate small table for kids to enjoy their breakfast just beside us . Enjoyed chatting with Joanne and her husband, Dennis as they shared where we should go to capture nice photos. This place is so homely that while we drove out for dinner and sightseeing, kids kept telling their
Daddy they want to go back 'home'! LOL!
Star gazing here is fantastic and I will never forget this beautiful sight.

If we had known earlier, we would have cancelled our night at Mt Cook and come stay for another night. If we ever go to Lake Tekapo again, we will definitely choose to stay with you again. Thank you so much for the review. I am very sorry to hear that you have been unwell and do hope that all is well now. Of course we remember you all. It was a delight to have you all stay and the kids were fantastic. I think Snoopy loved them as much as they enjoyed him. I was also pleased to be able to work out a way to have you all join us in the main house for breakfast. Although a little makeshift I think the kids felt quite special on their own table for the breakfast. We do hope you will get the opportunity to come back to NZ and visit us hear in Lake Tekapo, you and your family are very special and it would be a treat to see you all again and see how the kids have grown. We stayed here as we like places with views and Lake Tekapo is so stunning so it's great to have a place with a view. The rooms themselves are very clean and modern with great bathrooms but our main criticism of the room that we had which was up the front is the lack of privacy - other guest coming to the B+B or needing to access their cars or go to have breakfast can walk past the rooms and see directly into the floor to ceiling windows - therefore if you like to have the curtains open to enjoy the view then everyone can also see you sitting on your bed. Otherwise the place is great and peaceful. The location is convenient and a short walk to town and restaurants if you don't want to drive. The observatory is really stunning and I just couldn't get over the colour of the water here.
