Stayed May 5th 2019. 3 bed room for myself, 9yr old and 20yr old. Very comfortable rooms, quiet, clean and tidy. Bed was devine -very comfortable, setting was georgeous. lovely outdoor areas with big trees tables, seating and even a hammock!. My 9 year old loved getting up close and personal with the onsite rabbits and chickens. 5min drive to the pools, lake and shops. The staff we met were friendly and helpful. Large easy to use kitchen. Excellent price and good value for money. Heater in room. Good range of pots/ pans/ cutlery etc in kitchen. 2 large fridges available, 1 microwave. Good sized lounge area with boardgames leading off kitchen along with a 'dining area' on other side. Very comfortable.
was not expecting it so much after seeing number of reviews, in fact not bad after staying there. we book a 3 bed room, it is good enough for 3 pax, if hostel can put a small drawer next to each bed that would better, as our things have no place to put at all, we have to open out luggage to form space otherwise have to put on floor. noise is not an issue as travellers in our block keep quiet after 10:30pm. Staff is helpful and nice, we even have our room once arrived, it is before normal check in time. though distance a bit far from bus car park, it is about 10 mins walk with upward the first few minutes.
We booked a private ensuite room with pretty decent rate for one night. Check in process is quick and easy. We are given a small guest room separated from the main building, which is nice and feels more private. The room is pretty spacious but bathroom is a little small, but we wish it’s a little bit cleaner, especially the bathroom. Not bad if you’re looking for a budget-friendly room in Tekapo
I recently stayed at this hostel and it was a very good experience. The hostel is located a short walk from the main road and the bus stop. The Church of the Good Shepherd is approximately 10 minutes walk away over the footbridge. It comprises of a number of small buildings with plenty of outside space. The kitchen and common area are in the central building with the rooms in surrounding buildings. I stayed in the dorm room and it was good, although my plans meant I only stayed one night. There was a sink in the room and large windows on two sides. The beds were comfortable and there were extra blankets available too. I think there was only one dorm, the rest being private rooms. Showers and toilets were very clean and the water hot. The kitchen is open 24hrs so you can make…
We really enjoyed our stay here. Had forgotten to purchase eggs at the store and the owner gave us one from the chickens. Great location. Easy walk to town. Rented bikes ( which they decided not to charge us for) and rode to the nearby canal. So sad to see so much development going on up the hill in town. Met lots of nice people here and enjoyed the kitchen facilities. Nice grounds as well. We had a private room with en-suite that was in a separate building with 3 other units. Very cute. Highly recommend.
