Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Kiwis are well known for their friendliness and Ann Maree and Sab are no exception. This lovely couple were so hospitable, so helpful and have a great sense of humour. Ranginui is very well presented, overlooks the lake and only a couple of minutes from the town. We enjoyed our cooked breakfasts and were made to feel “ at home”, when chatting with them about their life. Genuinely sad to leave

This B&B was fabulous. We stayed for two nights to explore the Lake Tekapo area. Our room was large, beautifully appointed and super clean. We had a private balcony, tea and coffee (fresh coffee!) making facilities and a large bathroom too. Our host, Ann-Maree, welcomed us upon arrival, and was so friendly and helpful. She had made a dinner reservation that evening for us at a local restaurant but also offered to cancel if it didn’t suit. It did - and we really enjoyed our evening. She also suggested a trail to walk in the Mount Cook National park the next day, which we did and it was just stunning. Her local knowledge and advice meant we had the best of stays. The breakfast in the morning was excellent too. Home made muesli, bread. Fresh fruit. Cooked eggs, bacon, tomatoes, mushrooms, the full works. And of course….more (fresh) coffee! I can’t recommend this gem highly enough. Thank you Ann-Maree x

This might be the first time I’ve stayed in a purpose-built BnB. Our hosts, Ann-Maree and Sab, bought a lot on a hillside with a view of Lake Tekapo, and then built a home with a wing that contains three guest rooms. My room was simple but comfortable with tea/coffee making facilities, a balcony, a well-appointed bathroom, and a comfortable bed. Guests have access to a living/dining room with floor-to-ceiling windows, comfortable couches, and a picnic-style breakfast table. This design gives both guests and hosts privacy. Yet when relaxing in the living room, Anne-Maree and Sab are always happy to chat with guests and provide information about the area. Breakfast is plentiful. Guests order hot items the night before. When morning comes we were treated first with juice and a hot beverage followed by toast, eggs, bacon, or whatever we ordered. Cold items, like cereal, are also available. Restaurants are a short walk to town, about 15 minutes, using a trail that starts at the BnB. Alternatively, you can drive, but I enjoyed walking.

Ranginui at Lake Tekapo is amazing. We only stayed one night on our way back to Christchurch airport at the end of our holiday. We so wished we had more time to spend here and will definitely be back when we are able to return to New Zealand. We were welcomed by Sab (who was a fantastic host while Ann-Maree was away) and shown to a fabulous stylish room, with very comfy bed and spectacular views across the lake and mountains. You also get this view in the breakfast room/lounge. The breakfast was lovely with homemade yoghurt and granola and very tasty cooked option. Thank you Sab. Helen & Steve from the UK

We only stayed for one night and had to leave quite early the following morning but had a very memorable stay. Lovely setting and views. Room was fantastic as was the bed. Best nights sleep I had in NZ. Breakfast was great. Ann-Maree was a wonderful host who cooked a mean breakfast! Highly recommend staying here.

Absolutely stunning. Felt like we were at home. Ann- Marie is a spectacular host where nothing is too much trouble. Our room was generously equipped with everything we needed. We had booked a star gazing tour & when Ann-Marie heard, she even provided us with extra towels for the hot pool at Tekapo Springs. Our only regret was that we were only spending one night there! We cannot recommend this place strongly enough!

Gorgeous B&B with an equally gorgeous and fabulous host. Ann-Maree was wonderful and super attentive to all our needs. Beautifully decorated and the breakfast was delicious. My only complaint is that we didn't stay for longer as i was soooo sad to leave. My favourite B&B whilst travelling around New Zealand 🙂 Already planning to come back. Thank you again Ann-Maree for a wonderful stay you truly have made a beautiful home ❤️ would recommend to anyone staying in Lake Tekapo. Rachel & Andrew Xxx

Luxury, hospitality and views to die for. The host was attentive friendly and has plenty of local knowledge to guide his we spent our time. The rooms have glorious unimpeded views over lake tekapo. The rooms are spacious, luxurious and warm and the lounge was lovely to read by the fire in on a rainy day . Breakfast was great too. Couldn’t recommend highly enough and will be back again .
