We had an awesome stay in this lovely Lockwood home. Nice views and close to town. The house was cozy and warm. I would definitely stay here again and have already book my next trip with Tekapo Holiday Homes.
I booked Smithy's place through Lake Tekapo Holiday homes. So happy, I did. The house was spacious, had a fully equipped kitchen and laundry, and felt like a home away from home. It was immaculately clean and, very importantly, so warm and cosy. It was an easy 10-minute walk to the village and had a lovely view from the master bedroom of the lake. The folks at Lake Tekapo Holiday homes were welcoming, and checking in and out was effortless. I would absolutely use Smithy's house and Lake Tekapo Holiday homes again.
Askray on Rankin is a 2 bedroom apartment under a private home. It was clean, warm and with a great view. Would stay again. The office person administering the various homes rented out was friendly and efficient.
We stayed at Aotea property and it was perfect, there were 10 of us and there was plenty of room and facilities. we had a great time and the service and friendliness of the team at the holiday homes was awesome, brilliant followup and pre arrival emails were brilliant, well organised and easy key pick up. Very friendly.
My wife and I stayed in the stargazers retreat for our honeymoon. We found that although some of it was quite nice, there were a few things which dampened our experience. The website made us believe this house was somewhat private, but it was right where all the tourists could see and it was right next door to another house. The bed was supposed to be a king but felt more like a double and was very uncomfortable, and the pillows were horrible. It looked to be styled very nicely but was a weird mix of old and new styes. The oven was hard to use and you had no idea what temperature it was at. There was no PS4 and the smart tv kept crashing. They said you could see the stars while in bed but there were just two little skylights which you couldn't see through while lying down. The couch was very uncomfortable and there is no separation of the bedroom and living spaces. The flowers we got were nice and the view is amazing, and the bathroom was quite nice, but overall we felt it wasn't worth it for the price.…
We booked with Lake Tekapo Holiday Homes but hadn’t realised that the place we were staying at was actually a part of someone’s home. It would appear that we had basically booked an Airbnb without actually having the choice of where we stayed. It had all of the downsides - lots of notes posted around telling us where we couldn’t access, to keep things clean and put away (or we would be charged extra) There were no replacement toilet rolls and only a quarter of a roll left to use for our 2 night stay. Keep the garden gates closed (because of rabbits) - now the gardens were lovely but Don’t pour anything on the lawn (as per the sign) but the home is in need of some TLC. The double bed was way too soft, the shower was over a “half bath” which was too small to bathe children in. There was a laundry with washer but no dryer and no clothes horse to dry clothes on, on a wet day. So overall beware - an Airbnb without any of the positives. …
Lake Tekapo Holiday Homes will always be our first choice to stay in Lake Tekapo. This is our second time staying at one of Lake Tekapo Holiday Homes. We love the view, the amenities and it has a very homey feeling to it. Highly recommended. Peter & Hong
Booked a 3 bedroom apartment called Rossendale. Spacious and clean house with view of Lake Tekapo surrounded by Lupin flowers (from the kitchen window). Lovely and comfortable stay. Speedy and easy check-in and check-out process.
We booked 3 nights through Lake Tekapo holiday homes and opted for a family style hone called “Rylee Retreat”. We payed $220 AUD per night for this which was way overpriced for what we got. It is suitable mainly for possibly 2 small families on a strict budget. We have been travelling through NZ and staying in lots of accommodation venues so have a fairly good idea of value for money over here. The pics on website made it look better than it was however it was on a large block of land and situated out of town but easy to walk to amenities. Strictly no wifi, sloped driveway so could be difficult for motor homes/ Towing trailers. The curtains need to be block out curtains, the kitchen and utensils are very dated ( already broken salad bowl and forks bend when you use them), no dish cloth provided in a self contained kitchen but rules are you have to wash and clean and pack away your own dishes on leaving or you could get a $50 surcharge and sheets are so stiff it makes the sleeping difficult. Neighbours dog barked incessantly next door and at times during the night and woke you up. Lucky we still had a great time in Lake Tekapo but the accommodation certainly didn’t help. Wouldn’t recommend this particular type of accommodation and wouldn’t stay here again.…
Wonderful and a huge apartment we had with us, Very very clean and very well appointed. Great View of the Lake. Our apartment was 12-15 minutes walk to the shops and city center and the church. However the lake was only 5 mins walk.
