Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Check in details were very clear and easy to follow. The one bedroom apartment was amazing. Cannot recommend enough. It was lovely and warm. Kitchen well stocked with extras like cooking oil, soy sauce, baking paper and cling wrap. A washer/dryer with soap powder supplied. Had a courtesy visit from the owner which was nice as he pointed out things to do in Tekapo. Lovely views and such an easy walk down to the town. Would definitely stay here again.

Was here for one night in May to watch the lunar eclipse, and this was a perfect place to stay. I really appreciated all the caring touches, like the frost blanket for the car windscreen. Had a great night's sleep after being out late on a star gazing tour. Highly recommended.

We stayed 2 nights. The evenings were chilly and the place was nice and warm. Since we just arrived in New Zealand we didn’t have to use the laundry but nice that it was there. Very quiet and relaxing at night. Nice location

The accommodation is very clean and well equipped although the construction is so flimsy we felt as if we were staying in a mobile home. Unfortunately we had very noisy neighbours and didn’t sleep well. The location is great for walking into town and the views of the mountains are amazing.

My husband and I stayed one night here and the following points are why we strongly recommend it.
- Carpark lot just beside apartment so no need to carry your luggage up the stairs
- Thoughtful notices eg welcome note with our names printed on the door of our apartment and in the room reminding guests to be considerate
- Excellent service egwe had a little trouble trying to operate the induction stove. We left a voicemail on the host's contact number and Maria immediately responded and walked all the way to our apartment and showed us how to operate it.
- Clean, cosy and fully equipped with modern facilities
- 5min drive away from the Church of the Good Shepard
- Nice view from all around apartment plus Stargazing right at our doorstep
We will definitely stay here again for our next trip.

We were so happy with our apartment in Tekapo - so warm and cosy! Loved the thought that had gone into providing guests creature comforts from home (good coffee, underfloor heating and even a blanket to stop the car getting frosty!!). The apartment was extremely clean and modern and we would not hesitate to book here again next time we’re in the Mackenzie District.

Very clean, warm apartment. Lovely bathroom with large shower, fabulous kitchen with microwave, stove top, dishwasher, washing machine, a home from home. Everything provided you could require, even cooking oil and complimentary toiletries. Bed very comfortable and Netflicks on the flat screen tv. Staff really lovely and friendly, lovely welcome from the owner. Regular updates from the owner regarding weather and road conditions due to snow overnight. Allowed to check in early following a long drive with staff doing all they could to welcome and accomodate us. Cant recomend this place highly enough!

Clean and spacious. Not quite sure why the wall heating systems were not working well but warm enough at night in September. Kids loved the space and view. I liked sitting at the tiny balcony and enjoyed my coffee.

The apartment nearly provides everything you need for a long/short stay, from fully-functional kitchen, clothes washing machine, microwave, and so forth. For the one I stayed, the bedroom and bathroom are separated with main living room/kitchen, which is quite good if you want to cook something your own. The room is prepared tidy and clean, especially in bedroom and bathroom.

Although I didn't meet owner Maria in person due to my itinerary, I did contact with her before arrival, and she was quite nice and helpful on my credit card change issue. When you arrive at the premises, you will be greeted by a note with your name on it and the booklet on the table contains almost every information you may need at Lake Tekapo, from activities, restaurant menus, notice, store business hours, and so forth, just like a mini i-Site in your room.

The location perhaps is the one people may have concerned with, but not for myself however. It's located about 3 minutes drive from downtown, and although it's not directly along the shore of Lake Tekapo, you can easily walk to Church of the Good Shepherd in about 10 minutes. If you don't want to stay just near downtown, then Scott Street Apartment is one of the good choices.
