Detailed Reviews
Lake Tekapo is the beautiful backdrop to Alpine Suites where Kevin and Jenny are THE most accomodating hosts. The whole place is tip top and you just wait for your breakfast choice-home made muesli/granola and a full English or shakshuka will more than set you up for the day. Thank you

We arrived here on our tour of New Zealand having already been wowed by the country and it’s people. Staying with Kevin and Jen did not disappoint. We had a truly wonderful time in this truly fabulous accommodation. Nothing was too much trouble and everything was so thoughtfully organised ... we loved the lovely fluffy bathrobes. The breakfast was delicious and set us up for the day. Three days was not long enough. We will recommend this place to friends in the UK and our family in New Zealand. Thank you so much Kevin and Jen ... we loved Lake Tekapo and Alpine Suites.

Warm, friendly welcome from the owners. Very large, comfortable room with it's own private, outdoor seating area looking towards the lake. A private sitting room for the two guest rooms which includes tea making, biscuits and wine. Parking is off road or on road. It's a short walk to the lake and in to town or a short drive. Lovely breakfast. Wish we could have stayed more than 1 night.

Kevin and Jenny are amazing and friendly hosts for whom nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are finished to a very high standard and the breakfast is to die for. Nightly wine in the lounge is a lovely experience and their knowledge of where to go and what to eat made our stay so pleasurable. We would highly recommend this home from home

This is such a great place to stay when visiting stunning Lake Tekapo. A beautiful bedroom, cozy and comfortable, with fab toiletries. The guest lounge is relaxing and stocked with great NZ wines. The view of the stars at night was great from the garden. Kevin and Jenny are such great hosts - so friendly with loads of great tips for making the most of our trip. I can't recommend Alpine Suites enough - it's like staying with friends

We have stayed at some fantastic B&Bs in our near 4 weeks in New Zealand and Alpine Suites was the cherry on cake, largely due to the excellent, caring attitude and hospitality shown by Kevin and Jen. Not only that, the rooms were spacious and confortable, breakfast was superb and the beer and wine offered in the lounge (with a fabulous view of the lake) was a lovely touch.
Enjoyed doing some start-gazing from the garden as well.
Highly recommended!

We spent one night here and were extremely comfortable. The rooms and bathrooms are beautifully appointed with huge beds and stylish linen. The toiletries were gorgeous and the towels luxurious. The property is decorated with the owners' own photography and artefacts. Guests are offered evening drinks and delicious homemade canopies.
Try the homemade potato cakes at breakfast. The owners are knowledgeable about the surrounding area and give ideas and suggestions as well as make bookings. The property is very convenient for SH8 and hence a good stopover from Christchurch on the way to the south.

There are 35 reviews on TA about this property and all have given it Five stars. We recently stayed here for 2 nights and completely agree. Alpine Suites is outstanding in every way. Its a 2 min drive from Tekapo town centre.
Its like a hybrid between a pure B&B and an upscale hotel, with the guests getting the best of both worlds.
I was surprised to know that the hosts have no formal training in the hospitality industry because everything that they do is with such great panache. Kevin is also a great photographer as every guest will discover.
The setup is like 2 private rooms with en-suite bathrooms and a shared lounge (shared only with other guests) with great views of the lake & mountains. All amenities provided including a complimentary mini bar in the lounge. Both rooms identical in every way.
As most reviewers have commented the breakfast is a highlight with great presentation, choices of cooked items and the “worlds best hash browns” !!
One suggestion here - if you find the price a little high, still go for it. Save that $100 odd in your other NZ trip accommodation, if you must. You won’t regret it at all and this stay will be the most memorable stay of your NZ holiday. Trust me!!

We spent a couple of nights in this fabulous B&B. The host are exceptional in their welcome and we were delighted to have such excellent recommendations of walks, visits and places to eat. The breakfasts are some of the best we’ve had, the bed comfy and the room very quiet. The lounge, with views over the lake, is a lovely place to relax with a glass of wine. Kevin and Jen have clearly put a lot of thought and effort into providing the best experience for their guests and appear to love doing so.

We rented the two suites for two nights and very much enjoyed the comfort and hospitality. The suites occupy a separate wing of the home and provide a lot of privacy. The suites are next to each other and each have separate bathrooms but despite the rooms being next to one another we didn’t hear anything in the next room. There is a common area where breakfast is served and where we had wine before dinner. This common area was available to use during our stay. The beds were extremely comfortable and they seemed extra wide and the rooms were sparkling clean. During our stay, my husband was really eager to watch the world cup game but it started at 2 am. Kevin, the host, got up at 2 am to watch the game with my husband. (So glad I could sleep) and I didn’t hear a sound and my husband really enjoyed having Kevin’s company for the game. Breakfast was included in the room and there was a nice selection (eggs, crepes, muesli, etc. and the food was delicious. We also enjoyed before dinner drinks with the hosts before heading out for dinner both nights. Overall, very enjoyable place to stay.
