Tekapo lake during winter or summer is always a fantastic place to be. Summer is clear blue skies and blistering hot, winter clear skies and frosty or is snowing and looking magical, sometimes both! The holiday park and all facilities are always clean and tidy, and easy to get around. Sometimes when it snows heavily you may have to wait a bit for accessibility again. It happens. The holiday park is right beside the hot pools and only a few minutes walk, meaning hot pools in winter at night with mood lighting while snowing is just something else! Staff are always great and very helpful when you do need them. The ensuites are always clean and tidy, very comfortable and warm. Views are spectacular.
I understand the purpose of the time limit for hot shower, but with the price given, this should be the only one place have such "practice" with 6 minutes of shower time. The time limit is still ok, but the water pressure not that good.
It was a very pleasant experience we upgraded with a cabin for 5person with 2 bedroom with kitchen and bathroom. We are comfortably sleep with a nice warm beds and wake up with warm living room couches. View on the lake is outstanding.
One of my favorite places to stay, as the allow me to have a quiet spot (powered site) away from others. I also like that they charge me a single rate. This is were i normally stop to recharge for a couple of days as it is so peaceful. This place is immaculate with great facilities and right on the doorstep of the Lake. Also just a quick stroll to the Hot pools and spa. Lovely and friendly welcome by the reception team.
The cabin was modern, clean and had everything we needed. Shared facilities were all lovely and clean too. Beautiful views, visited Tekapo Springs just next door and we woke to snow- stunning! We will be back :)
Fantastic campground close enough to the shops but far enough away for peace and quiet. Exceptional views of the lake and mountain range. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The facilities were clean and modern. Love the native wildlife that visits the park.
This is probably the only holiday park located at the Lake Tekapo area which isn't a freedom camp. The actual site was clean, and had a great view of the lake (we did opt for the lakeview site). A short drive away to the town. The kids had a lot of fun on the 2 well maintained trampolines as well!
We stayed in a nice warm one bedroom motel room. It was set apart from the campground maybe 6 units, so it was private and quiet. It backs up to SH8 road to Twizel but didn’t hear any traffic. The staff were welcoming and friendly. Extra ammenities in the kitchen: Rice cooker French press Milk in little containers Two cutting knives but probably need to be sharpened Extraction fan for kitchen but not bathroom. Very warm room, heating blankets on the bed, wall heater in bedroom, heater for living area. nice hot showers though small stall but filled with nice body wash, shampoo and body lotion Beautiful, beautiful view. Set slightly away from main village which is a quick walk.
Stayed here in a powered campsite overlooking lake tekapo. One of the few campervan sites with free wifi without strings attached (e.g. low data caps). Good location that's close enough to town, but just far enough out that you get some great star gazing with low light pollution.
Lovely accommodation- great views, close to everything including pools, ice-skating rink and mt John for spectacular views with cafe at top for a much needed coffee. Friendly service at reception with some tips and heads up about weather etc… Great stay! It filled our cup😊 with happiness
