Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

RELAXING, SPACIOUS, UNEXPECTED TREASURE. I highly recommend the 2 bedroom villa, it was well worth the investment. We stayed 2 weeks, and I enjoyed the sheer Peace and relaxing atmosphere, yet only a few minutes drive to all the great tourist spots in Hawkes Bay. The owner Briar was so helpful, friendly and accommodating. Brilliant. Free WiFi is good too. You can also buy large amounts of fast WiFi too which was really helpful as I am relocating to the Bay and was house hunting so needed a lot of WiFi. Highly Recommended.

Spent 2 nights here recently and were really impressed. Our room was clean, modern, warm and had everything we needed and was a great price. Clive was the perfect central spot for us as we had things to do in Napier and Hastings. The new owner was lovely and helpful. We will be back regularly.

The motel was cramped and in need of a thorough clean. One of the two towels left for us was soiled. The carpet had holes in it and the bed hard and uncomfortable, We were very disappointed as the location is great for getting onto the cycle trails and the motels are situated well off the road with plenty of parking. I would not recommend staying here

We stayed 2 nights at The Clive, it was perhaps the best accommodation we have ever experienced and we travel often. We will most definitely stay again with more of our family. It’s a long way from Minnesota USA so we have a lot of planning to do.

Briar and Mike’s place is the result of a lot of talent much love and hard work. It’s a centuries old farmhouse totally restored with an amazing front porch and a big green field. We loved it and you will too!

Stayed here in January 2018 - wow, what a place! Stayed in this magical villa which has been lovingly restored (we stayed as a family) which was full of old world charm with added modern comforts. Our children loved running around the spacious lawn and we enjoyed watching them from the beautiful and relaxing balcony. Our hosts were accommodating, friendly and couldn't do enough for us. Situated between Napier and Hastings, this place is very close to all amenities - not far to Splash Planet, beaches, wineries, farmers market, country fruit & vege shops, cafes, Hastings excellent New World supermarket etc - something for everyone. Thanks for a lovely stay, we will DEFINITELY be back!
