Surrounded by tall pine trees and rolling hills, Plitvice Holiday Resort is quietly located 8 km from Plitvice Lakes National Park. The complex comprises accommodation units - double rooms set in the main building and in wooden houses. Complex also comprises accommodation in mobile homes, tipi tents, tree and lake houses . Free Wi-Fi is provided in all areas. Each unit has a modern private bathroom. The resort also has a restaurant serving traditional Croatian cuisine, notably specialities from the Lika Region. Excursions to Plitvice, Barać Caves or the Rastoke Waterfalls can be organised. Possibilities for various outdoor sports (freeclimbing, kayaking) and recreational activities (paintball, cycling, horseback riding) are available in the vicinity. Bicycles can be rented at the front desk, where excursions can also be arranged on request. An exchange office, a cashpoint and a market are also available. Very nice resort. We stayed in a lake house for two nights. The small artificial lake is a cute touch, and the rest of the resort area is well kept. Tree houses are something special also. The location is also very good.
The rooms are really nice and have a good standard of furnishment. The restaurant is the main problem, in my opinion. Accomodation in lake houses is quite expensive for Croatian sandards, especially compared to other accomodation in the area, and the food is really nothing special. It does not seem fair and we left s with a bad feeling like we have been tricked somehow, you are left with a bad aftertaste. I had poultry for dinner one evening, and pizza the other evening. They make better pizzas in some bakeries, it is the kind of pizza we had in the 90s, gauda, basic ham and mushroom with grease on the top! I did not finish the pizza. Halfboard was a bad choice. We went to a nice restaurant, Plum, it is nearby, and had a great overall dinner experience, moreover, it was the kind of experience I was hoping to get in the resort I booked. The breakfast menu was poor also, very basic food. They do not offer Lika domestic food at all.
Mrs. Danijela from the restaurant is the biggest asset of the resort, a nice, warm, hospitable and proffessional person that made our stay. She even informed us of the local sights and the information was very helpful. Other waiters (male) were not educated enough about serving food, manners and basic hygiene, they need to change their shirts more often! Some of them would fit better in a bar for truck drivers.
I had a great experience with the receptionist, I think her name was Marina. I forgot my mobile phone charger and she was kind enough to send it to me by post.

We stayed in one of the tree houses in the resort for a few nights and had a great time. The resort is set back just a little way from the main road but once you are inside you don't notice any road noise. There are different types of accommodation to choose from; tent pitches, tipi tents, lakeside villas and luxury treehouses.
We chose a treehouse just to experience something different. They are glamping pods within the trees but we loved it all the same. The kids had two single beds and a shower room / WC on the lower level, we had a double bed and a shower room / WC on the top level and in the middle there is a lounge, dining area and kitchen space. It's good fun. The AC worked a treat avainst the 30° heat so we all had a great sleep. The treehouse does rock a little when you move about, so anyone with bad motion sickness - take note!
The lake was out of bounds for swimming in this year and we weren't told why. That was a bit disappointing. However, we used the main swimming pool and sun loungers instead so the kids were happy. There is also a little snack bar selling drinks and ice creams so you can keep cool and refreshed.
For the little ones there is a little play area and crazy golf and the team at the resort organise free activities for children like archery and cinema nights.
There are a few restaurants within walking distance and there is a mini market at the entrance to the resort. Go early if you want croissants before they sell out!
From the resort it is a short drive to Plitvice Lakes and there are other lovely places to visit nearby where you can river swim and explore. If you like adventuring, book a Mreznica River kayaking trip with Raftrek who have a base on the resort. It's a great way to spend 4 hours.

We loved our stay at the Plitvice Holiday Resort. It has green surroundings, with nice smelling pine trees, and it's super clean and modern. We stayed in the hotel rooms, which are in a kind of Pavillion. Rooms were very nice and for a good price, only thing was that they are kind of noisy, so I would recommend to ask for a room on the top floor if you're a light sleeper (like me). The staff at the reception and restaurant are great and very helpful. Breakfast is great, big variety and very tasty. We wanted to take some bread for lunch because we went hiking or biking in places where there are no lunch restaurants, and the first day we asked for foil to pack it, even though we felt a little embarrassed. The staff were so helpful and sweet about it, especially a blonde lady (I don't know her name). As from the second day, they recognized us and she gave us foil without asking every single day that we had breakfast there which made us feel really happy. Same for the staff at the reception, after one conversation they recognize you and joke with you. Overall we felt super welcome in Croatia and in Plitvice Holiday Resort. I can recommend it to everyone, especially families with kids. Lots of things to do for kids, like sports, playground, nice pool, mini golf, etc. Four stars instead of five because the hotel rooms were noisy, the rest was perfect.

We rented a house on the trees for two people. The house is heated to central heating which did not work and it was cold outside and the temperature was below minus especially at night .. we told them about 5 in the afternoon that the heating did not work,they convinced us that it was up to the system load but after we returned from dinner around 22 still didn't work and we had to call again to see what the problem was. The heating was switched on just after midnight and again in the morning. The staff dont do their job properly or strive to make your stay comfortable. Dinner is charged 150kn per person and the drink is additionally charged. There were 3 courses that evening, none of the first two meals were eatable and meat were stinking, the wine they served was not what we were looking for, we didn't even eat dessert. For 2500kn per night its definitely not worth that money !!

Checked in to the holiday resort. After checking in and setting up our camper, we went to find some water, and seen signs at the facility to say the water could not be drank. Went to the reception to ask about where we can get drinking water (basic necessity that you pay for at campsite) to be told we would have to go to the shop next door as there was an issue with their water. When we questioned them about this we were then told well you can drink it but at your own risk as it’s got bacteria in it. The water at the shop next door was only 500ml bottles at a cost of 1 euro each. (This adds up when you need drinking water yourself and you have a dog!) We informed reception we should have been told about the water situation prior to checking in as we wouldn’t have checked in and stayed at the campsite as we weren’t happy to pay £66.12 euros a night when they don’t provide the basics. Reception offered no apology, saying it wasn’t their fault and still wanted to charge full price despite not providing the basics that we payed for. We wouldn’t stay again. Reception staff were not helpful and actually quite rude. We have stayed at much nicer campsites for less than 66 euros a night with nicer facilities. To top it off we were woken up at 5am by people chatting outside our camping spot. Shower facilities weren’t the best, with a wait for a shower. We have stayed at 6 campsites so far this trip and unfortunately this has got to the the worst one, yet the most expensive.

We appreciate hearing from our customers, both positive and negative, as it helps us to continually improve. It is quite incomprehensible that you mention that you did not find water. The water is technologically correct, we just received a notification from the competent services that it is not recommended to drink it while the laboratory test is in progress. It's not any of the bacteria you mention. Water is bought in all countries. Here, the water is drinkable all year round, and testing takes a few days. The reception has no need to apologize for the water because it is not up to us nor does it apply only to our Resort but to the entire village and municipality. If our resort was expensive for you, you should not have booked or stayed with us. The price is certainly visible during the reservation. Water has nothing to do with it because we do not charge it. This is just a water precaution that we are required to inform and follow. We are sorry if you were not comfortable and if someone woke you up, but you are in nature and in a camp. We are committed to providing the highest level of service and hospitality, as shown by numerous other reviews on various portals. We are always trying to do our best to give just the right services to our guests so that they can enjoy their stay to the maximum. The resort is new and clean with updated swimming pool when we arrived. We stayed 3 days (like most) to visit Plitvice lakes. The resort would deserve 4 stars, but recrption desk people at times can be very rude and unfriendly. When we complained that resort staff was using the washing machines for cleaning cabin laundry (leaving guests with constantly occupied washing machines) the reception responded very rude that yhis was the usual way of working and my complaint was unfair. After repeated complaints from other guests they stopped doing this. For the rest the stay was good. The shop does not provide a lot, but had bread for breakfast. Apart from reception this is a nice place to stay.

They always trying to help our guest's needs and fulfill their wishes to the best of our possibilities - we are sorry if you got a different impression. In the resort, we have only 1 washing machine and 1 dryer available to guests 24 hours a day. We are sorry that it bothered you that our maids used the washing machine or dryer during the day, they try their best not to use it during rush hours. It was certainly an exception when they used the washer/dryer. A small supermarket, apart from pastries and bread, offers a large selection of other foods. Plitvice Resort is over sold - check the facilities have been built and choose your pitch carefully.
I was using the resort as a base for my camper-van and was travelling with 2 friends. We booked the site back in February because it has a pool and serviced pitches. It turned out that the site was over sold and the pitches were not quite as described. The pool had been taken out of service for refurbishment and my 2 friends were allocated pitches far away from the facilities. The campsite is terraced and so uphill for most pitches. There are no toilet or shower facilities at the top of the site. The site is alongside a busy road so the quieter pitches are higher up and away from the campsite facilities.
It transpires that the refurbishment and new building work has now been mentioned on the website but people that had already booked were left in the dark regarding site facilities that have been removed.
The Chemical Waste and motorhome service bay is actually just off site and that is quite inconvenient if you stay for several days
That said - the site is attractive and reasonably convenient for the a National Park. A bus service operates just once per day to take you to and from the lakes.
The sites restaurant is very good and a supermarket is handy.
I don’t think I will use this site again (that depends on what else is available) but in fairness to the site they did offer a discount once challenged as some facilities were not available. I think the website over sells this site.

Hello Mr Paul J, thank you for sharing your opinion about your stay at our resort. We always try to provide our guests with the best service to make their vacation as comfortable as possible. We are sorry that you were not satisfied with your camp place in our resort . We have several types of pitches - from campsites for tents to VIP pitches. We cannot guarantee the exact number of the plot in advance, only the zone. This means that you can change your seat in the same zone to another one that suits you better. You could choose also other type of parcel if you want. On the website you have a virtual walk where you could see the places and the location. This year we were reconstructing the swimming pool and unfortunately it was not finished when you came, but only 2 km from us you have a place to swim. We tried our best so that the works did not affect the stay of our guests. As a sign of understanding, we have also offered you a discount on the reservation. We had to separate the chemical toilet because it cannot be close to the accommodation units, which is understandable. Every year we also organize a transfer for our guests. Since it is a different company, the bus goes only once in the morning and returns in the afternoon. The distance is sufficient to visit the entire National Park. if it is too long for you, we can always book a taxi for you earlier. Everything that is on the website can be seen in the Resort itself. We really hope that we will have the opportunity to host you again in our Resort and that you will enjoy the newly opened swimming pool. Thank you once again for your time and staying with us. The resort is well located and offers different types of accomodation. The mobile homes are well organized and spacious. All the staff is professional and friendly, we really enjoyed the breakfast which was very tasty and offered a large quantity of food, both warm and cold. Danijela and her other colleague during the breakfast service was extremly friendly and kind, offered a quick service with a big smile which made us feel very welcome. I would definitly stay here again and recommend this for a weekend gateway or longer.

We stayed at the tree house for 2 nights. It's not spacious but surprisingly it has everything we need. The tiny cook area has dish washer and refrigerator. It even provides slippers! We love the volume of the shower. It's the best of all the places we stayed in Croatia.
We were surprised by the movement of the tree house though. Every time when someone moves around in the tree house, the tree house sways side to side. It may not be idea for people who are more prone to motion sickness. In addition, since the rooms are not enclosed with complete walls and doors, it can be noisy.

I‘m afraid I cannot help you with this, sorry.
As far as I know you can reach the lakes from almost every bigger city, but I don‘t know details. How about buying a tourist trip to the lakes and same back to Zadar? Good luck!
