Club Med Pointe Aux Canonniers in Mauritius garners mixed reviews, with guests applauding its picturesque location and cleanliness, while highlighting comfortable rooms and a variety of activities. However, many travelers find the hotel's pricing steep, especially for wine and extras. While the staff's demeanor receives varied feedback, some visitors have praised their professionalism but others cite slow service.
The bustling atmosphere is a hit for some but a miss for others seeking tranquility. Additionally, guests suggest some rooms could benefit from modernization and improved electrical setups.

Detailed Reviews
This is such a magical place! Recently renovated, Club Med La Pointe aux Canonniers is the place to stay when you visit Mauritius, it feels very luxurious. Our room was very spacious and had everything we needed. Big closets, a very nice rain shower and beautiful view. It was cleaned daily, fresh towels are also provided every day.
There is so much to do here: sailing, water skiing, paddle boarding, table tennis, and they have some beautiful tennis courts. This Club Med also has a very nice gym where we went to almost every day.
But the best thing is the food: breakfast, lunch and dinner are the best moments of the day. Healthy, high quality food with a lot of options, and everything is freshly made.
We went to Mauritius with our 1 year old son, who loved going to the baby club now and then. Berenice made sure he had the time of his life, thanks! This resort provides everything you need when you visit the island with children.
During our stay there was a cyclone which caused a lot of damage. The way the GO's and the CDV handled this unexpected storm was amazing. We were very well looked after, and felt safe the whole time.
Big thanks to CDV Leonie and the rest of the Club Med team, they made us feel so welcome!

I always like to do a review while I’m still in the resort, so everything is fresh in my mind. Have been to this Club Med for close to 30 years so have seen many changes and much renovations and upgrades. This time the resort has doubled in rooms. 2 new pools, including a Zen adults pool, which we spent most of our time at. Our room a deluxe room was right by pool, with a lovely bar/coffee station. Very relaxing one forgets there are families with children. Main restaurant changed, but what an improvement in the quality , variety of food. There was nothing that I could fault. My biggest complaint was the beach restaurant, it serves late breakfast, lunch and a la carte dinner. This time not sure if it was because of the weather but the flies were over everything. I found it so unhygienic that I refused to go back there for a meal. The food should be covered. That was my only major gripe. I found staff friendly, ok French is the main language but a smile and being friendly get past the barrier. For a holiday one could not ask for more, everything is included, so no extra surprises at end of holiday. I loved and am loving our time here. Would highly recommend it.

Overall the hotel is fantastic and the location is amazing, the sunsets are out of this world. They just need to work on catering to the English speaking guests more as this was lacking at times.
Special thanks to Salim for arranging the red roses to scatter with my mom’s ashes and for being so understanding of the situation and respectful. It was a very emotional day. Thanks to Sanjana in the main restaurant for always getting us a table even though there were at least 13 of us every night. She was always so friendly and helpful, you need someone like her in the Alma Lounge which was not friendly or helpful and refused to accommodate us as a table of 13 and instead gave us a table of 10 and a table of 3! Totally unacceptable especially when we walked into the restaurant and saw that a table had been set up for French guests for 12 overlooking the beach, which was not used the entire evening. Little things that showed we were like second class guests to them. Thanks also to Scotty, Liam and Nikita for sharing our meals with us, it was nice to speak to English staff and to ascot to for joining us for dinner on the day we scattered the ashes and helping to take our minds off it. The bar staff, especially Phil, Chitan and Mahem were great and we even managed to get a smile out of Manu, even though it did take the full two weeks. A final thank you to Leonie, Xavier and Rabah for taking the time to come and say goodbye to our family as we were leaving, much appreciated. We will be back one day although the long flight from the UK is slightly off putting!

My family and I went to Club Med Pointe aux cannoniers for the day use package. We were a group of 15 pax and NONE of us were satisfied. We paid Rs2800 per person ( around 60-65€ local rate ). I wouldn't even pay half that price if I knew what we were going to experience
We were shocked just by seeing the state of the place. The landscaping was terrible. This hotel needs to close down asap and need a complete renovation.
The lunch hall relating to food can improve considerably. The cleanliness was terrible with dirty cutlery and seating being the norm.
The salad bar was far from being cold dishes. We could see flies flying around the dishes which is totally unacceptable.
Even though we were not expecting to be served seafood like lobsters or king prawn for the price we paid, there were no shirmps served at all.
NO steak. Instead we were served minced beef pretending to be steak.
Desserts..omg..what can I say. 0/10
I don't know how this is even a 4rated star hotel. I've been to 3stars or even 4stars hotel which are FAR better than this.
Drinks...we were not expecting any less. Mojito served tasted like water. No lime juice/ not even fizzy water used to make it. Coffee served are not even real coffee. No proper barista. All coffee served were from automated machine which I am sure are made from Instant coffee powder.
Imagine paying this huge amount for this kind of service? This is a disgrace hotel.
Totally won't recommended this hotel to any of my friends or family.

Our 4th time in Mauritius, 1st time at Club Med. And we will definitely be back.
We had a really relaxing stay, (the exact purpose of our being there) and it is so nice to not worry about tipping. The buffet has something for everyone. The bread is amazing, baked daily, (However I was put off one early morning by the birds sitting pecking at it). Wine and beer were great! The cocktails were okay, and the bars are not staffed adequately at peak times. We would have liked a rum tasting, but after asking many of the bar staff no one on the resort could help us - and we did not want to drive an hour and a bit to do a tasting. Maybe something to be offered in the future (all the bottles are on display for purchase but not something you want to buy without a taste)? Staff as a whole are friendly and accommodating. The swimming towels are fine - but the bath towels need attention.
The sea is pristine and the crew on the boats will do a detour to fetch a plastic bottle - so commendable. Snorkelling was lovely, and the staff were very friendly. We did the dolphin excursion and found it to be a very frenetic and commercialised experience (not one i would recommend), The reefs have recovered greatly from our last stay. If you are coming from South Africa, I would recommend a 10 day stay as 2 days are spent travelling and a 2am wake up (SA time) to come home, puts a damper on your relaxed stay. It was so lovely to try the archery and Axel was an amazing teacher. The white evening is a highlight, and the staff go to a lot of trouble. Our 4th time in Mauritius, 1st time at Club Med. And we will definitely be back.

Arrival by plane with transfer To/R CM les Canonniers, no GO reception, we move towards the reception to make ourselves known, complete astonishment of the GOs… discovery of the superior sea view room, beautiful location, spacious, close to activities which we appreciate , the rooms even need a good refreshment…
Lots of noise everywhere in this club with no possibility of rest even in the zen space, overwhelmed with people with alcohol in their hands all day long... the extremely loud musical noise stops around 1:30 a.m., difficult to get a good night's sleep , but it doesn’t matter, it’s the CM.
Within the allocated catering hours if you arrive close to closing but on time, some dishes are surprisingly empty, very disappointing, certain bins in the village near the swimming pool in particular are not emptied and dirty, the cleanliness in certain places is not not great. Beautiful beach but swimming is limited due to numerous algae.
Beautiful village that we knew but disappointing

After a one-week stay on the Albion Plantation we spent 2 weeks on La Pointe aux Canonniers.
The club is very pleasant with an incredible atmosphere every day. It is a very family club, where everything is easily accessible. The beach is huge. There are 3 swimming pools: the main one, the Zen one, and the family swimming pool which was very appreciated by our granddaughter. This is a swimming pool accessible to little ones (splashing area, water jet, etc.). The icing on the cake was our accommodation was located on this swimming pool.
The shows, announced by the ever-sparkling village chief Olivier, are beautiful and very rhythmic. Bravo to the choreographer Gwenola for her creations!
There are many activities, I have gone scuba diving on several occasions and it’s just crazy! On a dive I happened to come across whales at 15m. Everything is well organized: the equipment is present on the boat, we equip ourselves and we jump! Well done !
The mini club was able to take care of our little one so that she could find her place easily: well done to Olivier and Miguel, Jean Baptiste, Momo and Eugénie!!
As I said, the atmosphere is really crazy: games, entertainment, music, shows. No way to get bored, everything is well orchestrated, big congratulations to Anais (Event Manager).
At the exit of the club there are private taxis which will take you wherever you want on the Island, you can decide at the last minute you will always find a taxi. We went out many times (Chamarel, Pamplemousse, sugar museum, Aquarium, Port Louis, Ile aux Cerfs etc.). Speaking of Taxi, you will also find “taxi boats” on the beach which offer you different outings. For my part it was a swim among the 30 dolphins who were there. Simply incredible.
The main restaurant is very good, the buffets are very varied and very accessible for children (meaning variety of food). A big thank you to Urvana and her team who welcome us every day with a cheerful smile. Is it really very pleasant? We did not try the “beach” restaurants as the main restaurant was impeccable.
The rooms are systematically maintained to a high standard, we were entitled to different towel folds every day, well done to Yogel
We enjoyed seeing Romain again, whom we had already met at La Palmyre as head of sports. Kind and very available, Romain is perfectly in his place as deputy village chief.
We didn't see these 2 weeks go by in this family club with its omnipresent atmosphere, and it is with a certain emotion that we leave it, hoping to return.

This stay was the first with our children at Club Med, knowing the quality of service of the Mauritians we favored Pointe aux Canonniers. We had a wonderful vacation that lived up to our expectations. The entire GO team far exceeded our expectations. They are amazing and we would like to take them to the next clubs we attend. The Village chef Olivier is absolutely perfect and present throughout the stay: considerate, dynamic, participating in shows, very welcoming, jovial. He and his team even have very pleasant surprises in store for you in the afternoon by stopping by to see each GM in the heart of the village. The very attentive and energetic mini club and small club teams were able to gain the trust of our two children and allow them to also experience a wonderful vacation. The organization is meticulous and your children's personal effects are perfectly returned.
Passionate about water sports, this club is made for you, we learned water skiing very quickly thanks to a top team, the lagoon is ideal for sailing (extending the navigation area would nevertheless be appreciable and multiplying armada-type events , the regatta, the canoe at sunset which we loved) and the very friendly sailing team. Concerning the canoe, we were frustrated that the navigation area was more than limited and that there were very few two-seater canoes while there should be a majority for couples.
Andy fell in love with snorkeling, passionate like him, we appreciated that he tried every day to help us discover the best of the coral reef.
Concerning the room, however, as we are used to luxurious hotels, we found it decorated in a very dark way and lacking in light to illuminate everything. We also believe it is essential to put bathrobes and slippers in all rooms as well as more comfortable pillows. The view, however, was very beautiful.
The catering is excellent and the cooks attentive. We would have appreciated over the two weeks that this varied depending on the week. Small spoons without asking for them on all tables instead of large ones would be ideal especially for children.
The different atmospheres of the three swimming pools allow you to choose according to your mood of the moment. The Zen pool is fabulous especially with the sunset and Mahen very attentive to serve you.
Finally, a closed luggage storage system on the day of departure would be more appropriate for our personal belongings.
In summary, we can't wait to come back and would like to have the same experience in all the clubmed hotels in the world.

I'm a big fan of the Club Med brand and offering, and this newly renovated resort in Mauritius doesn't disappoint. Probably the best All-Inclusive option you'll find on the island with something for everyone. Rooms are great, spacious and clean. The resort itself is beautifully laid out with plenty of open spaces to enjoy spectacular views of the sea and surrounds. Wide variety of land and water sports, and amazing entertainment after dinner! Pilates and zumba by the beach at sunset are a must! Food and dining options are vast and cater to all preferences. G.O's of this resort were so friendly and incredibly helpful. The location of this resort is great as it is nearby various activities (such as the Blue Safari submarine excursion + Mont Choissy golf course, to name a few). Would definitely visit again :)

Positive notes: Luca, head entertainer, great welcome, always available and kind to accommodate our requests. Sincere congratulations.
Congratulations also to Ezechiel, Adrian, and Kiki who are part of the sailing group and to the snorkelling gentleman Andy.
Also the cleaning lady Amina, very friendly.
Compliments also to Sarah the bartender and Rajah, who speaks Italian well and has always been available.
Beach equipped with sunbeds, deckchairs, umbrellas, catamaran, canoes. It is possible to snorkel and water ski.
Nothing to take away from the location for the beach and the friendliness of the staff, in fact, everything is really positive.
Free DIY laundry available.
Negative notes: (unfortunately there are some here)
Let's start with the fact that the cleaning ladies always leave the doors open, so expect anything in the rooms. From small and beautiful large spiders. Nice big and small cockroaches. Geckos. Butterflies. Ants.Etc.
They also provided us with an insecticide spray in the room, imagine that.
We had to call the reception at least a couple of times to help us remove the poor guests who entered the room. They are friendly and come pretty quickly when you call them. Thank you
The blankets are not changed every day. I had confirmation (proof) that the night before I climbed into bed with a slipper, leaving the footprint, and finding it on the same spot the next day and the day after that, then we left. (See Photo)
In terms of cleanliness it leaves a lot to be desired, but in everything.
Gentlemen's glasses are true works of art. Dirty.
If you're lucky, the cutlery is sometimes clean.
Gentlemen, like everyone else, we came on holiday, so we didn't complain too much, but after, at least we, for three weeks, paid handsomely to stay in this type of village, we were truly, truly disappointed.
The paths to get to the swimming pool, bar, buffet, i.e. to the meeting points are really poorly lit.
We had already been to a Club Med the year before, the one in Phucket, Thailand, and for this reason we chose to return to the Med, but honestly, this one at Point Aux Cannoniers is really dated and not up to the price paid!
Compared to the one in Phucket, the gym is not very well equipped, there are a lot of dumbbells missing.
The food was always the same, we stayed three weeks, duck and chicken were never missing. Very little variety of fish, and some dishes are evidently recycled the next day.
