The hotel is highly overpriced and here are 8 reasons why: 1) Restaurant is poorly coordinated with concierge service. They missed our reservation completely on our arrival night. 2) Restaurant is understaffed. Took more than 15minutes to even be offered a glass of water at the restaurant. The excuse is always due to covid but I was billed a month in advance and the hotel was fully booked. Unacceptable for a hotel in this price range. 3) Pillow top of room 22 was all bunched up and quite uncomfortable from being washed over and over according to the maid. Being reasonable, we asked for it to be changed out. Their solution was to take it out completly and hide it inside a chest in the room. We accepted and didn´t complain although it is completely unacceptable for a hotel in this price range. 4) Asked twice for extra pillows. Once to to the concierge and a second to the maid when inspecting the pillow top. Guess what? Took a third time to eventually get pillows on the second night. 5) Next morning, we let the concierge know about the poor response by the maid and the pillow top incident. Message was barely acknowledged. 6) During breakfast, I tried making reservation for a 3pm lunch. A lunch that was included in my reservation and confirmed by the concierge upon arrival. I was told I needed no reservation and that I should just come to the restaurant anytime. Showed up for lunch and found myself with a bill for showing up after 2pm. After complaining, I was refunded for lunch. No appology and no interested they didn´t show much interested to make up for this mistakes and previous ones. Again, unacceptable for a hotel with this price range. 7) I asked for my bags to be picked up for checkout. Hotel personnel showed up ontime at exactly 11am. Awesome right? Well, they opened the door with no permission even though we were still inside. And to top it off, they asked for me to hand over my room key. What!? For a hotel in this price range, this is completely unacceptable. 8) During lunch right after checkout, I was approached by Sergio (hotel manager) with a weak appology and $150 credit to my account. As if $150 makes a dent in a $600 a night hotel. Very weak, poor initiative to make up for the damage, and way too late in the game to show up. Our weekend here seemed like they were playing a joke on us. I was ripped off by this tourist trap. Expected much more for this price range. There are much better hotels in Costa Rica for under $200. If you are a tourist, please go somewhere else. Go where you are treated best. I´d be happy to provide my proof of stay and conversations with hotel staff in case you are wondering if this is true.…
We visited Casa Chameleon Catalinas Hotel for 2 Nights. First, all the Covid - 19 measures are in place. All staff fully trained on how to bring a safe experience to the travelers. Everyone has a mask, keeps a proper distance, and cleaning stations all over the hotel. The villas themselves, have the best ocean view I have seen. The sunset falls directly in front of your villa, which has a private pool as well. The restaurant has an amazing view also and great food. We are vegan and the chef offered us different dishes outside the menu which were great. Very accommodating. The hotel is located 25min away from Playa Grande for surfing and has many restaurants nearby as well. 10/10
The view from your room-or anywhere in the hotel for that matter, is simply breathtaking. Not only is there a cascading pool in the main area but in your bedroom as well. Everything is strategically placed for your benefit and staff are always willing to lend a helping hand. William was very helpful at check-in and assured that our car and bags were taken care of upon arrival. At Breakfast, Ariel was alway a friendly face with a cheerful spirit. Want something light for breakfast? Try the wrap, you won’t be disappointed. Each night at dinner, Luis and Andrès were always very knowledgeable about the menu and made sure that everyone at the table were comfortable and taken care of. I’d often see the manager, Elquin, walking about to make sure that everything was always in order Eyner I just say that the chefs Felix, Jose, and Marco (Suse Chef) always aimed to please and never disappointed. The meals they prepared were AMAZING!! You don’t want to pass up an opportunity. You can’t go wrong with a place like this. Relaxing, friendly staff, great food... what more can you ask for?…
Over all an amazing experience! The costumer service is unbeatable 🙌🏻 shout out to Anthony! The villa is a dream come true in the tropics, including wildlife 🦝 Food was OK, not great... specially the Xmas dinner 👎🏻 try La Forketta Rest at Potrero Beach instead!
It is hard to describe the beauty that you experience during the stay at Casa Chameleon. Each villa offers privacy, aesthetic decor and breath taking views. The Staff here is extremely accommodating and goes above and beyond to make sure your stay is a pleasant one. They surpass the normal standards of a Lux stay by remembering every guests name, cleaning your sunglasses by the pool and ensuring there is always a drink in hand. They treat sunset here as a spiritual experience with flames and a gong, appreciating the sun. And trust me, these sunsets light up the sky in every pastel. The restaurant, Sentido Norte, just steps away, is the best restaurant in the area. So delicious! If you are looking for romance or just an incredible Costa Rican view, this is the place. I chose to write this review because the world must see this gem. I will most definitely be coming back to this oasis. This is a must stay.…
