The chalet was very clean and cosy with air con and ceiling fan, it was 29 when we were there. Breakfast basket had a good selection and there was milk, butter, ham, cheese and fruit juice in the fridge. Plenty of tea and coffee. There is a major road nearby and we found the noise quite intrusive overnight. The bed and pillows wee a bit hard for me but that’s personal choice. The shower was excellent . We found the host rather disinterested and skipped the wine tasting. We were also shocked by a $12.65 surcharge when we presented our debit card for payment. We were told it was because we had used a contactless credit card, (it was debit , and we had not been charged a surcharge anywhere else in the previous two weeks). Shoulders were shrugged and we departed. Rather ruined our stay.

We have visited this place many times for wine tastings and always wanted to stay here so I finally did. Very modern unit, country chic but actually new and functional not worn out like many ‘country’ estates tend to be, comfortable bed, excellent shower pressure, room tariff includes juices & a very hearty continental breakfast basket, we couldn’t finish even half of it, the room tariff also includes a wine tasting in the evening, there is no restaurant onsite so for dinner we went to Stoaker Room some 5 minutes drive, as it was a special occasion we booked the spa house, I was loving it but my partner was too hot after 30 minutes so an hour of the 90 minute soak experience was wasted, the spa tariff includes a house bottle of wine that you choose when making your booking, 2x mainland cheese and cracker snack packs and a few Lindor chocolate balls, lovely views from the tasting room.
Again ended up buying a couple of bottles, lovely hostess, nice grounds, ooh and great grape jam to be purchased in store which paired beautifully with cheese later that night! The wine labels are cool and sassy, anatomy art for the win! We will be back!
Its nice to go somewhere where everything is up to standard, you get what you pay for.

We had a wonderful 3 day stay. Beautiful accommodation, comfy bed, awesome shower, it had everything you could want. The breakfast was more than a basic continental breakfast, with something different each day. The hosts really made it for us, with a daily happy hour, which was an opportunity to meet other travelers, share stories & have a laugh. The wine tasting was very much to our taste, although I'm not a savvy drinker, I did take to the "Two Together" which is a blend of Sauvignon Blanc & Pinot Gris.

Arrived at 5:00 pm, just in time for the wine tasting - with several delightful offerings. After the tasting, our host showed us to our wonderfully stocked private cabin, nestled among the vines. After a fantastic dinner, nearby (which will shortly be the subject of another 5 star review), we donned our robes and were shown to our private hot tub for a delightful romantic 90 minute soak which included a bottle of their Sauvignon Blanc. This place is a must stop on your travels.

Okay, this place is just a gem! I really wish we had more time here! We stayed overnight at the hotel in a room that overlooked the winery, did the hot pools and did a wine tasting! I loveeee the owner, she is super funny and made our stay amazing! We sat out on the patio with a bottle of wine after the wine tasting and hot pools and just enjoyed being there. The hot pools were AWESOME!!!!! Seriously, BOOK this place for both a stay and hot pool!!!! We booked the larger hot pool and it was gorgeous out and just beautiful views and so relaxing after hiking for a week!

We were really disappointed. arrived and werent made to feel welcome at all, in fact the opposite. Paid $65 a night to park in a gravel carpark area - no showers, no toilet between 7.30pm and 12 noon) , no dumpstation, no laundry. There are two spots and the camper next to us is a parked a couple of metres next to us. there is no privacy - even a hedge or barrier between the parking spots would be nice. I dont recommend this at all. In fact, we are departing a night early as its not a pleasant experience and quite simply a rip off.

Wow!! We went to the outdoor hot tub which was fab. We were there at night in a private out tub looking up to stars, drinking wine and water and eating cheese and crackers and chocolates. The surroundings are very well done with screens, plants and rocks, just lovely Well done to the owners

We stayed for two nights to ride the Lake Dunstan bike trail. So glad we chose River Rocks Estate. We were warmly greeted upon arrival by Graeme & Jan. We settled in, then made our way upstairs to the wine tasting. Loved the Chardy & the Pinot's. Then after working our legs for 45+ km's the following day, we were able to relax & recuperate in the hot tub with more tasty wine. Thanks so much Graeme & Jan for your hospitality. We highly recommend this as a place to stay when visiting Cromwell & surrounds.

What a fantastic place to stay, accomodation was great, comfy bed, deck area looking out on to the vineyard and mountains. Breakfast provided with plenty of choice and items varied each day. Really enjoyed the pool house, to relax after a day of biking. Hosts very helpful and friendly and provide a free wine and port tasting. Only a five minute walk to town, so you can do the wine tasting then go for dinner. Highly recommend staying, will definitely return

Excellent little villa, patio right on the vineyard made for lovely pre-dinner nibbles and wine. As a bonus we managed to chat with Jan whilst wandering round the vines and learned quite a bit about grape growing in Cromwell. The room furnishings are superb and everything is to a really high standard - very comfy and well supplied with everything you m ight need. The wine tasting was also excellent and most informative. Many thanks to our wonderful hosts, Graeme and Jan-Marie.
