Stayed 2 nights and Cheryl very kindly upgraded us to an executive spa room - we were very happy with that I must say.
The room was very spacious and comfortable, had all we needed - apart from an ice cube tray. When we asked, Cheryl was amazing - gave us a container of ice from her own fridge and then the next day on our return, we found a large container on the bench with even more ice. How wonderful. We will definitely stay again

Hi Junelle What a lovely weekend it was and we're glad that we managed to look after you, even with out an ice tray in the room. The spa rooms are lovely especially with the balcony, high ceilings and views. We hope to you see you back real soon, feel free to check availability with us, just call. Stay well and we look forward to your return, ice trays ready. Warm regards Cheryl & the Team @ Colonial Manor Motel

We spent three nights at this well situated, immaculately clean hotel . The room was spacious and had all that we required. It even had a bath, which on our road trip around the South Island was a rare find in this price bracket. The best part though was the friendly and helpful nothing -is-a-problem attitude of Sheryl and her staff. We thoroughly recommend the Colonial Manor and would definitely stay there again

We stayed in an upstairs studio unit. It was very comfortable with two beds and a good size bathroom. The motel is very close to the main shopping mall in Cromwell so it's in a convenient location. The service was very friendly and I was able to make use of the guest laundry and clothesline. One aspect that could be improved on is there is no sink for doing dishes although you are provided with a washing-up bowl that you can use in the bathroom. It worked but it was slightly awkward.

Tried to book a room over the Easter period for 1 night, which they had 1 available, wouldn't accept unless we stayed the 3 night requirement for this period. Only got 2 days off for the weekend, so would have been in Cromwell for 2 days, spent money for tea, breakfast, fuel for boat and car, so other businesses would have benefited. See advertised on television for Kiwi's to support tourism, because of COVID-19 - we tried to do our bit but looks like not good enough for this motel.

Instead of staying in Queenstown, we opted to stay in Cromwell. It’s naturally much quieter while still being within reasonable driving distance of everything we wanted to do. This place was very good and the owners very helpful. Our room was tidy, spacious and fully equipped, which gave us meal options. Cromwell’s main centre was just a short walk away with a good selection of places to eat.

Thank you Paul for taking a minute to review our property. We agree we are very central to all the action of Queenstown and Wanaka yet also have our own action here in Cromwell, depending on what you are looking for. We're glad you were able to self cater whilst on holiday, always nice to have a meal in. Thanks again and hope you will return to our shores soon and maybe to Cromwell. Kindest regards Cheryl & the Team @Colonial Manor Motel

What a lovely motel! We only stayed here for one night as we were passing through on the Inter-city bus from Mount Cook to Dunedin and the bus schedules meant that we had to spend a night in Cromwell. But our brief stay at Colonial Manor was most enjoyable. It is only about a 3-minute walk from the bus station, so extremely handy. We were given a warm welcome and were impressed with the room (super comfy bed) and facilities. After catching up with washing and having a pleasant meal on our patio, we then walked to the Heritage Precinct (a 25-minute walk). Thank you for a very comfortable stay.

Hi Maureen We are so glad we could look after you even if only for a brief interlude between bus trips, the lucky thing is you now know where we are, Cromwell the heart of Central Otago. We hope you enjoyed Dunedin and your south island tour was everything, if not more, than you expected. Thank you again for your time to respond and we hopefully look forward to your return, Spring is a lovely time to visit with all the cherry blossom around. Until we meet again. Warm regards Cheryl & the Team @ Colonial Manor Motel

A great place to stay in Cromwell. Our one night stay started with a warm and friendly welcome from Cheryl who was a wonderful host.

Our room (#3) was spacious and spotlessly clean (not a speck of dust anywhere!) The room had a desk area for working at as well as two comfortable arm chairs and a dining table with chairs. The bed was very comfortable.

There was a bath and the shower was good with plenty of hot water.

The room had lots of unexpected extras i.e a multi power box for the numerous electrical gadgets that we all travel with these days.

There was a lovely well maintained grassed area with BBQ and large picnic table.

Out of the eight places that we stayed on a South Island road trip (all with similar ratings) the Colonial Manor Motel was by far the best.

I would definitely stay at this well situated motel again.

Another great stay at our Cromwell favorite. New owner doing a great job in a good location close to local amenities. Good advice on meals, free wifi and although it was -2 deg outside the heat pump kept us very cozy. Thanks for the stay Cheryl

We spent a night here recently while travelling in the area. Last minute booking as they had a cancellation. Very friendly host, helpful and welcoming.

The motel has a great position across the road from a mall area with shops and restaurants in a few minutes walking distance.

Very clean and a large room. We were upstairs so had good views over the ranges in the distance.
Would recommend for all to stay here

Stayed here with my friends. It was an amazing experience staying at this place. Sparkling clean, neat & tidy. They provided exactly what anyone requires such as comfy bed, TV etc. and last but not least is the view from the balcony. It just made our day. Cheryl is really generous host. She was personally making sure if we need anything. She explained us about the town, weather etc very well and gave some tips about where to visit, where to eat too. I'd definitely consider visiting this place next time I go to South Island.
Regards,
Rohan
