Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Perfect. Clean room and ablutions. Comfortable beds. Quiet. A real shame they are closing. The only possible minute complaint was that the heaters were on full despite temperature outside being in the high 20's. Easily fixed by turning them off and opening windows. We did not use the cooking facilities other than breakfast coffee and drinking chocolate coffee.

Not a bad place to stay, depending on the type of accommodation you paid for. We had both a 2bdrm unit + standard cabin (with shared facilities) The 2bdrm unit is great - very clean with all the comforts of home. The cabin was also very clean but as we went in summer the room at times became unbearable with next to zero lighting to the toilet block at night. It's not Top10 material but it has an easy going vibe about it with a big BBQ area and sufficient communal space. Staff are easy to deal with and the openness of the place means you may have to say hello to your neighbour so be sure to pack your positive attitude :)

We stayed here one night on a powered campsite. The communal areas are functional and clean. The showers are on timer but are in with the price of the campsite. The campsites are small and no privacy from your neighbours – not a problem for us as the campsite was quiet but during peak season I would probably not stay here for that reason. Note that we came to this campsite after first checking out the freedom campsite up the road in Lowburn by Lake Dunstan – the freedom campsite had overflowing bins and was very busy – so decided we would rather pay and get better facilities and a closer location to central Cromwell

We were not impressed with our stay at this holiday park. Have never been somewhere before where you have to pay to access any cooking equipment, not even access to a fork without paying for a cupboard key! We were not told this before we arrived or on arrival and reception was closed by the time we were cooking, luckily somebody had left their cupboard open so were able to cook! Rooms are very small, bathrooms not particularly nice. Also very poor lighting getting to bathrooms at night. Definitely worst place we have stayed on our travels and probably one of the most expensive! Would not recommend!

We had a motor home which developed a problem as we checked into the Motor camp. We had booked a powered site but due to the issues in the van asked if we could change to a unit in the camp. The staff were excellent, we ended up with a 1 bedroom unit and they allowed us to leave the van behind the unit plugged into the power (No Charge). The unit was excellent large well fitted out with all you need to relax cook and enjoy a break. It was clean and all fittings and linen of high quality. We stayed 2 nights and had a great break before moving on to return our motor home.

I stayed a night in late May when travel became possible again. I paid $120 for a room that would have been reasonably priced at $80. There were two heaters in the room:a wall mounted relic from the 1970s which emitted a tiny and inadequate warmth and a portable fan heater which I couldn't make work at all. It was a cold miserable night with insufficient bedding to deal with the polar temperatures. Be warned.

We stayed in a box with extremely old bunk beds and soiled sheets on double bed - no screens on windows(and we were upgraded) - the lighting at night (none) is extremely poor considering the distance to facilities - spent time in the kitchen area trying to explain to three groups of frustrated non English speaking travelers that they needed to purchase a key to a locker in the kitchen from reception to use any utensils at all (found this really different when you have to pay extra for this) - the toilets and showers weren't the cleanest as used the same toilet and shower each time being gross every time - this holiday park is gradually closing down(for an estate) and staff on front desk not overly welcoming - when handed key in on departure just said thanks (no how was your stay) - we weren't expecting first class accommodation and love roughing it but for the money you pay you do expect clean and safe)

We were met by a very friendly receptionist who made sure we were fully briefed on all the parks facilities. The park is well worth the effort. Facilities clean and plentiful. Cromwell is a lovely town situated amongst the mountains and vines.
