AS OF 1ST DECEMBER 2020, THE ORCHARD HOUSE IS PERMANENTLY CLOSED. The Orchard House is set on almost 2 acres of mature landscaped gardens, nestled privately in an orchard, neighbouring many vineyards in Cromwell. The rural landscape with mountain views means there is no shortage of natural beauty, but still within walking distance to town. We offer two custom built luxurious, light and spacious rooms upstairs, each with ensuite and french doors to bring the outside in. A shared kitchenette and dining area is available where you can enjoy breakfast or make a cup of tea or coffee anytime of the day. Downstairs is your entrance and sitting room, separate to the main house. Our garden has plenty of places to relax with a book, as well as a private garden with BBQ facilities for our guests to enjoy. Or, you could take a 5 minute walk to the beautiful Lake Dunstan and enjoy a stroll along the waterfront, or explore the Lakes Dunstan Trail by bike. If you would like to explore the Vineyards of Cromwell, our Property borders the ‘4 Barrels Walking Wine Trail’ where you can walk and enjoy Misha’s Vineyard, Aurum Wines, Scott Base and Wooing Tree Wines. Or, why not take a short drive to the Cromwell Heritage Precinct which offers an abundance of history and charm set on the lake front. Our Cromwell Accommodation is located in the heart of Central Otago allowing you many places to visit and limitless activities during any season. The room rate includes a delicious continental breakfast, with an assortment of organic fruit grown onsite (when in season).

Fleur and Brendan were fantastic hosts who couldn't have done more for us. The breakfasts were fantastic and just loved the fresh fruit from this region at this time of the year. Rooms were really clean and very comfortable, in particular the beds. Would highly recommend any one stay here. We usually stay in hotels, this may have changed our opinion :-) Thanks for our lovely stay.

The Orchard house is one of those places that “makes” a vacation. Fleur and Brendan have created a most remarkable experience from their grounds, to accommodations and breakfasts!

Very easy to get to all Central Otago has to offer (ie. Cromwell, Queenstown, wineries, and orchards)

Couldn’t recommend highly enough, phenomenal value!

Such a pleasant all-round experience. Facilities immaculately presented with everything one could ask for. Trish and Fred were like family from the outset. Nothing is too much trouble for them. Their beautiful house is in a wonderful location and they are so knowledgeable about everything about their region. If you want lesser known Otago wines Fred is your man! They should give lessons to B & B owners in England - this is how it should be done!

The best B&B that we have ever stayed at. Every little detail had been thought about and taken care of.

The room (the Marian Room) was sumptously furnished with a very comfortable bed, thick carpet and a fabulous bathroom with a deep, deep bath.

The hosts Fred and Truish were marvellous and nothing was too much trouble. They have complementary drinks and nibbles in the evening, and it was great to spend time chatting to them and getting all the inside information on what to see and do in the area. In the evening, they provided a turn down service (including putting on the electric blanket), so the room was perfectly cozy when we were ready to go to sleep.

They made reservations for dinner, and even drove us to and from the restaurant so that we could enjoy a drink.

The breakfasts in the morning were perfectly cooked. We stayed in one night for dinner, and had a gorgeous meal.

New owners for past 8 months. Great welcome, upmarket stay in separate accommodation from main house, sitting room downstairs shared dining room with drink facilities, microwave etc. WIFI and the bedroom was beautifully appointed, bathroom was very upmarket with a deep bath and lovely lavender shampoo/conditioner plus a free bottle of wine and continental breakfast. Sometimes its the little things that count. Plenty of books and magazines to read. We could take apricots from the trees. Thank you.

We stayed at Orchard House on our way from Queenstown to Dunedin.
The location was perfect, just outside Cromwell, the property presentation was excellent, and hosts Fleur and Brendan were extremely gracious and welcoming!

What a find. Could not fault any part of our wonderful 3 night stay there.
Spacious Bedroom and Bathroom and comfortable bed. Nice touch of the provision of towelling bathrobes and also the little muslin bags of dried lavender in the drawers and on wardrobe hangers. Breakfast thoughtfully presented to our request. Provision of self contained well equipped kitchenette area for the 2 guest rooms joint use.
So quiet situation in an orchard off the highway less than 2km from the Cromwell centre.
Fleur and Brendan very thoughtful and caring hosts. We wish them every continued success .

We were lucky enough to book this beautiful bed and breakfast at the last minute and just so glad we did. Cromwell is the place to go if you want peace and quiet, but with easy access to Queenstown, Wanaka and the Central Otago.

On check in, we were greeted warmly by Brendan, (and then later his partner Fleur) who showed us our room and the facilities.

Our room was beautifully spacious and well appointed, with a seriously comfy bed and nice linen, including lux bathrobes!

The breakfast trays are very generous, with access to a well appointed kitchenette at any time as well as the use of their lovely garden.

Fleur and Brendan go out of their way to ensure that you are provided with local information and tips for local restaurants and wineries.

Hot tip... Brendan is a paragliding pilot and Fleur works for a parachute company, so if you are looking for adventure they can book you in.

We would love to revisit this beautiful place.

Kia ora Elaine, Thank you for your kind words, we are so happy that you enjoyed your stay with us at The Orchard House. Even though we are new to the Bed and Breakfast world, we are very proud of what we offer our guests...The Orchard is definitely a unique location, close to Queenstown, Wanaka and award winning Central Otago wineries. We are very lucky being able to offer guests with organically grown fruit onsite! So happy that we managed to book you in for a paraglide in beautiful Queenstown too! Thank you again for taking the time to review The Orchard House - If you're ever heading our way, please do get in touch as we would love to see you again. Take care and all the best for your NZ holiday! Kind regards, Fleur and Brendan
