Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Stopped by here on our way from Queenstown to Christchurch. We are glad we were able to spend some extra time.
The hosts were amazing, to be able to stay in such a comfortable room is a working farm is priceless.
Geoff was extremely kind to our 4 year old and this is the place that she keeps on talking about weeks after the trip. She made friends with Max, the house dog and she enjoyed feeding the sheep and riding the tractor. Nothing was too much for the wonderful owners. We will be back!

This little gem is off the highway in between Doubtful Sound and Mt. Cook Village. It's a lovely drive through scenic farm country and then you're home. Two lovely units with vast views and great sunsets. The owners work hard to insure an enjoyable stay. We were greeted with bowls of fresh fruit, just picked from the property. Without exception, the most flavorful apricots and raspberries I have ever had. The property has just changed hands, I was there when the original owners were packing up to head to Nelson to retire. They assured me that the new owners were lovely and would continue in the tradition of great hospitality.

Claire and her husband (Keith?) as well as max (dog) made us feel very at home.
Lovely couple and lovely little cottage. Perfect for two people. Breakfast was fresh, lovingly home made and sufficient.

The house made from Straw Bale’s was very cool and the little bit of the farm that we saw was lovely.

You probably wouldn’t spend more than 1-2 nights here, but you would enjoy the time that you did spend here!

For the cost of staying here I would expect not to have animal fur on the bed, body hair in the shower, which desperately needs bleaching, or have to wash dishes. The towels were disgusting, stale smelling, and only good if you need a bloody good exfoliation, so hard and crusty. The only one good thing I can say was that the bed was comfortable, other than that I wouldn't recommend this place.

This place is out-of-touch with what clean means. The host took a LOT of time explaining health & safety aspects which was totally unnecessary. Overall it was the most disappointing experience; unclean towels, mould in showerbox, a poor breakfast. Not much good to say unfortunately because the price on the BookIt platform should have reflected 5 star :-(

Ripped off! This is not five star accommodation but you would think so by the price! Meanest breakfast ever, host told me she didn't have enough bacon for me. Showerbox was filthy and so were the towels. NOT recommended experience.

First the host told us we couldn't check in until 4pm because she had to clean - what a joke - there were spiderwebs and the showerbox was filthly. Didn't want to use the towels - they were old, thin, crusty and smelly. We were looking forward to breakfast until the host said she didn't have enough bacon - if you can call it that :-( for us both. Seriously this place is on the take.

Very comfortable self contained room in tranquil in rural environ, set amongst olive groves. Clean, tidy well appointed. Super friendly hosts. Very good value. Not far by car to Cromwell or Tarris if wanting restaurants.

Claire and Geoff welcomed us onto their beautiful property, and although we were there only a night they made us feel unbelievably welcome. It was hard to stop staring out over the amazing views. Would definitely love to stay here again.

We finally returned here, having stayed many years before and even found our old entry in the visitors book. The place is still the same, off the beaten track and absolutely worth turning off the main highway. Great place for cyclists coming over Lindis Pass as well as Cromwell would still be a bit to go.
Claire and Geoff who now own the place are just as lovely as the original owners and Claires dinner was just perfect. Especially when you can have it outside with a view.
And her apricots from the trees just a few meters from the house are just totally addictive.

Hi this tripadvisor site says the nightly rate is $9. Is this a mistake?
