From the moment we checked in till we left all the staff were amazing in what was a difficult situation.
We flew from Bristol arriving in Faro to discover the U.K. government had changed Portugal from the “Green list to Amber”. As self isolation wasn’t a problem for us we decided to stay put and we are so glad we did.
The staff were forever cleaning & politely reminded guests that masks needed to be worn where necessary.
Our room was a suite, which gave us added space which included a kitchenette & seating area plus a good size patio area.
The swimming pool area was well laid out, with plenty of room to move around.
The bar area around the pool was well staffed, and really looked after the guests.
Now I have to mention the food- this was fantastic, on the seven day holiday I ate a different fish dish every lunch & evening meal. So much choice of other dishes. Everything beautifully laid out , served by restaurant Staff so no contamination. Not a fly in sight. I even managed to meet the head chef to pass on our thanks, and for those guests who like there food over hot, they even supply a microwave.
The one issue we did have was a failure with our room door, which as they were unable to rectify the situation they gave us another room and even offered to assist with the packing.
more than 2 minutes. The hotel is by no means the worst we’ve been too and on the whole not many complaints and most of the negatives are due to covid, I am sure in the same way as most of the guest are Portuguese
, but don’t find that a problem, would we return unlikely, but that shouldn’t deter others.
Queues for everything. No sunbeds around the pool by 8am people are laying on the grass verges.
The queue at the only drinks bar is mega long and you have to queue here day and night to get any drinks, including water and coffee.
Last night it was very windy and cold but we had to sit outside and queue at the bar which is outside because there are no inside seating areas.
All mealtimes is spent in a queue. There is no tea or coffee available at dinner or evening meals, you have to queue for these at the bar outside by the pool.
The pool towels are changed only every two days and they are €20 each, refunded in return.
The rep is not very assertive and just says well everyone queues on an all inclusive holiday. I have queued many times but not for every little thing I need on holiday like here.
The indoor pool is a charge and you have to wear a swimming cap.
The Gym & Spa was shut when I was there there was no social distancing like it said around the hotel/resort. You was expected to share a bottle of water while queing to get into the hotel between 12 people.
The staff was very rude and abrupt and when you went to complain they made everything worse for the rest of your stay.
Compalin to the TUI rep and nothing gets done
Worst holiday I have ever been on.
You have a bar inside but you have to pay as we was told there the better drinks the outside ones are watered down and that was by a knee of the staff behind the bar

If you like queueing a lot on your holiday then this is the place for you.
Our room was really lovely, very big for 2 people, with kitchen, living room, balcony, decent bathroom and huge comfy bed.
There is definitely no issue with cleanliness and the maids were hard at work the whole time we were there, constantly cleaning toilets, the bar area and restaurants, you can tell they really put work in to make the place spotless!
Food: breakfasts are spot on, lots of choice, cereal, a choice of breads, pastries, cereal, fresh juices and fruits, coffees, full cooked breakfast with proper beans and sausages! We were really impressed! However as the day goes on, the food gets more disappointing. Lunch time is exactly the same as dinner, just with the added kebab choice. I think you would be ok if you’re not picky. I however am a vegetarian and thought after reading the reviews it would be alright. I didn’t find a variety to eat, and whatever was put out at lunchtime, was the same as what you eat at dinner. It was usually a pasta with tomato sauce, a couple of rice options, and vegetables. Never really a main vegetarian meal, I would have expected maybe something easy like falafels or veggie sausages to put with things. I ended up eating chips, rice and vegetables a lot of the time (I would see kids eating pizza from the children’s bit and think they’re eating better than me!) The salad, soup and dessert bars were decent for anyone.
All inclusive drinks were nice, the cocktails definitely had alcohol in them! The Portuguese beer was nice (super bock). Also had wines, spirits and soft drinks.
COVID wise everyone wears masks everywhere, this is one thing everyone definitely stuck to! There are also hand sanitiser dispensers in most places as well. At the beginning of the stay the hotel was so quiet, we felt no worry! However once Friday came, bus loads of Portuguese people arrived and the hotel became very rowdy.
These people were very strict with their masks but didn’t seem to understand the concept of social distancing at all! They would be in big groups and a lot of the time just stand right in the way of doorways and look at you funny if you tried to walk past without going too near them! Also we had a couple of people on separate occasions trying to get in the lift with us, I thought it would be common sense / courtesy not to get in the lift with other people during a pandemic!
Entertainment was average and there was a live singer at night that was good.
Overall we had a nice and relaxing stay. Drinks were good, plenty of sun beds, huge pool. food was average and at times the other hotel guests were abit rude. I think we will return in future.
Some interesting things to know:
1. There is a shuttle bus to the beach (you can also walk but it will take you a good 30 minutes to get there and it is uphill on your way back)
2. Great pizzeria & pasta restaurant (Mediterraneamente) about a 15 minute walk away (uphill when coming back)
3. A few shops, stores, and other restaurants about a 10-minute walk into the small down town.
4. if you are coming in by plane, the airport is about 1-hour away so renting a car (free parking is available) is recommended so that you can see a few other scenic beaches around the area.
Restaurant was split into two: Green for families, Blue for adults and children over 12!! Found food to be varied each day but nothing was hot, everything was lukewarm or cold even though they were under the heat lamps, we had to microwave our meal each day and that included breakfast and lunch too. Thank god there was a microwave available. Another bugbear was they turned off the coffee/tea machine after breakfast so you couldn’t have a hot drink with lunch or dinner, basically too bad! Everything was self service even at Dinner which normally the staff would get you your drinks, NO, get your own.
Poolside Bar was okay if it wasn’t busy with a 2 drink per person policy, otherwise you had to queue to get your drinks, there was another ‘Premium Bar’ where you could pay for your drinks and that was always empty as it was an all inclusive hotel so why have a bar where you have to pay!!? Ice creams had to be paid for too!
Pool towels were available at a €20 deposit.
The pool is very large and the areas around the pool were kept very clean.
Entertainment staff worked very hard and were friendly and very keen to please all.
Reception staff were very helpful. There is a regular bus to the beach everyday.
All in all I wouldn’t come back to this hotel, but with a few small changes they could have the 4* hotel it claims to be.
Clean, well maintained, most staff friendly.
Dont come expecting an all inclusive 4 star experience.
Hotel is currently full.
95% Portuguese occupation (which isn't an issue as they are staying in their country as most nationalities are)
Entertainment 95% Portuguese.
Covid: wear masks unless sat down, lying down or in pool
Food: queue to get in restaurant for approx 10/15 min. Then to queue for same length of time at each food station. Limited food.
No ice creams or kids food.
Drinks: same issue, queue for approx 10 - 20 min, limited drinks available
Pool: no sunbeds available after 10am. Noisy with on going "Portuguese Dance Hits"
Jet2 transfer: 1 hour wait at airport then 90 min transfer on top
Come to Portugal but go self catering and use local businesses.
