When going on wintersports vacation in january 2013, we decided to take a half-way break at this hotel. The hotel is situated right on the highway behind the gas station. We arrived around 01.00 and were checked into our rooms. (24 hour check in possible) We paid €49 for 2 persons incl. breakfast.

Judging from some comments from 2011 below here, it seems a lot has changed. The hotel looked completely renovated, the bathroom was impecably clean and the beds were comfortable and clean. The rooms were spacious and even though it is situated close to the highway, it is really calm and peaceful.

The breakfast consisted of 2 breads of choice, a juice, a coffee and a boiled egg. All of the were fresh; the bread was soft and egg yolks were yellow (unlike some pre-boiled green eggs).

I would certainly recommend staying here as a stop over in order to arrive relaxed at your destination.

Only negative comment; the shower had a watersaving shower head which gave hard beams of water and made it feel kind of hard to wash off soap..

Fair play if you're tired and want somewhere to sleep on your journey, this place will do the job. You have to book your room in the middle of the service station shop, so queue up with your coca colas. The prices are cheap as chips but you get a room and breakfast for your money. The room was okay, the beds are very old. Mine had a big dip in it where your hips go. So I tried to take comfort in the fact that many many people had been in it before me. Bathroom very basic but clean enough. Breakfast system was a bit random, you were given a ticket but woe betide you if you chose an almond croissant over a standard one because they are apparently not allowed. Luckily I got away with it!! The lady we booked with was very pleasant. To sum up, very basic if you're desperate but don't book this as a pre planned holiday stopover

We stayed here on a roadtrip up the Romantic Road, we used it as a stopover after a day at LEGOLAND and before moving onto Dinklesbuhl and Rothenburg. The room was clean and did the job, nothing special though but great for what we needed. The basic breakfast was lovely too. Very good overall.

Uncomfortable beds,
No AC and incredibly hot room
Smelly room
Right on the road. More for truckers who need to stay a night.
I do not recommend this at all. Needless to say, my husband is never booking another place!!!

My son and I ended up staying at this hotel by accident. We had booked into the Eurohotel in Gunzburg as a base for our trip to Legoland but when we got to that hotel we were advised that the hotel was full and that our booking had been transferred to the Axxe hotel a few miles up the road. The directions we were given were a bit sketchy and we had to stop for directions. If travelling on the A8 from Legoland its actually only a couple of miles away but you have to exit the motorway and double back given that its on the other (Munich bound) side of the motorway. The motel is easy to miss as it is part of a larger complex which includes a petrol station and retail/ food operation and parking for trucks.

I was a little apprehensive at first at the idea of staying at what looked like a truck stop. However, I needn't of worried. The rooms were spotless and once you have your key (check-in at the shop) there is a separate entrance for motel guests. There is an unbelievably good value buffet breakfast for €8 for motel guests at the restaurant onsite. For kiddies there is always Burgerking. There is a significant footfall of people as plenty of coaches stop at the complex but I didn't find the noise from traffic or people to be disturbing.

The best thing of all was that this hotel was only €56 for the room. I'll definitely be back as it is as convenient to legoland as hotels in Gunzburg.

My family and I stayed there during our trip to Legoland.

Pro:
The rooms were nice and clean. Surprisingly spacious considering the price. And less than a 10 minute drive from Legoland. The location has a play ground, mini store, restaurant, and Burger King.

Tip: An Esso station is also at the location and accepts Esso Card

Con: The night shift crew. We checked in during the late evening. Everyone was very friendly and accommodating to our attempts at speaking German. I was able to check in with no issues. When my husband and I returned for dinner (8 hour drive and we did not have any tolerance left for driving) we encountered the night shift, RUDE!! I don't think is was a coincidence that the night shift -same people- both nights did not wear any name tags. Or I would have complained about them by name. Both women were incredibly disrespectful, full of attitude and annoyed to be either at work or that I existed and required service.

For the price and location if you're looking for a place to stay while visiting Legoland this is it, but beware: Do not disturb the night shift!

we stayed here on our way over to corfu in july this year .the room was of an average condtion but even tough it was on the motorway it was very quiet.the food was expensive but it was a service area so that is to be expected the breakfast witch was included was good once we had worked out the format .it was ok for a one night stop over on par with a travel lodge in the uk

This roadside hotel makes a good value-for-money overnight stop. It is convenient located on the service area Leipheim, meaning there is zero difficult getting access to it (it can be tricky, though to fill the data in the GPS: it is best to locate Leiphem on the GPS map, then the service area (just after the Leipheim exit) and direct you there).

Reception is located inside the convenience store/restaurant. I arrived late and the only staff person there was very helpful and solicit. I just needed a place to stop in a long drive, having found the hotel before and reserved it.

Rooms are reasonably big, furniture is new (so it the building, or it appears to) and up-to-date. Cleaning is spotless. Noise insulation is very good and I didn't hear a thing from the motorway.

My only negative note: there was no remote control for the LCD TV placed there.

A good value option that we used as an overnight stopover between the Netherlands and Venice on our trip to Greece....we chose it primarily because of the location off the autobahn and the fact that they accept dogs for a small charge. The facilities were very comfortable and the food available was very good indeed. Friendly staff abounded and there were some convenient walks available adjacent to the motel. A great motel we stayed at twice during our trip and can highly recommend it!
