Fabulous hotel in the heart of the Black Forest. It is easy to find with lots of free parking. We were able to park our motorcycles in the garage on the 1st night. The staff are excellent and speak very good English, we got on very well with Dragos as we remembered him from our previous visit. The rooms are very comfortable and quiet. Food in the restaurant is excellent and there is lot of choice including some regional specialities.

This is a family run hotel. We immediately felt at home, staff was so attentive! Breakfast was superfresh and tasty. We also had dinner at the restaurant; the food was amazing (traditional for the region with a modern twist) You can do nice walks from the hotel. What I liked best is that the hotel uses local products to insure top quality and its environment friendly!! And very good value for money!

We spent the night in a nearby Airbnb, and were looking for some dinner. We decided to “wing it” and try this place. We were not disappointed! I personally had the rump-roast with fries and it was probably the best I’ve had in Germany! My wife had the trout and loved it! We are going to be going back again before leaving the area!

We have been to the Black Forest many times and usually stay in Schenkenzell. We decided we wanted to try somewhere different and found this lovely hotel. It is situated in a quiet part of the forest just outside Lauterbach. There is ample free parking and we were given a very warm welcome. The rooms are large, well appointed, and very clean. There is a restaurant and bar on site. We liked it so much we will try to return in June, with friends, on this years motorcycle tour.

We had an overnight trip here as part of our journey through the Black Forest. Room was okay, clean, lots of room. The bathroom was small. Breakfast was good overall and saves you time looking for something to eat. The hostess didn't advise of any amenities i.e. a room where you could access a minibar but was quick to ask if we had used it. Just not very personable.

Since our visit corresponded to the hotel's annual holiday, we were given a code prior to our arrival so that we can check in despite the absence of the hosts. A warm welcome letter with our room keys was a sweet way to make sure we instantly felt at home. The room was, as requested, with a baby bed and was extremely clean and comfortable. The beds were white, clean and odorless. The cupboard was spacious to accommodate all our luggage. The bathroom thought small was sufficient and clean. A common room outside had a small fridge and a baby changing table which was convenient for us. The breakfast buffet offered a variety of breads along with homemade jams, fresh cream, yogurt and cheese. An array of fruits and antipasti was also there. The hostess was kind enough to ask for boiled or scrambled eggs. A hot, homemade fruit cake added a delicious touch. Those who preferred musli or flakes also had a few good ones to choose from. Coffee, tea and a good number of fruit juices were the beverages offered. The entire stay was pleasant and I would definitely recommend it anyone planning to visit Triberg falls or Titisee.…

Stayed here during a motorbike trip back in September. Very friendly, family run hotel and a great base to explore the area. Great food, both breakfast and evening meals were of excellent quality. Hotel was exceptionally clean throughout. Bedrooms are a bit dated but clean and very comfortable. If you need WIFI you may as well forget it. Over all a lovely hotel and would definitely return if in the area again.

We were visiting Lauterbach as a return to roots venture. I was born in Schramberg and spent my 1st 4 years growing up there before moving to Melbourne Australia.. Mum always mentioned this place on top of the hill "Forenbuhl" so it was inevitable we should taste the fare. My cousin Horst along with my wife and I arrived mid afternoon and sat down for the meal. The waitress, was very freindly and soon had us pondering the menus An English menu was soon made available for my wife as I could read (sortof) German. I ordered the Venison and spatzle.Wow what a great layout of food on the plate My wife had some sort of salad, while Horst had some pork from memory. The service was prompt and freindly along with a bunch of locals out for a day from the local seniors club. The toilets were very clean and the atmosphere was "Schwabish" sitz hien und sei gemutlich" I also managed to have a word with the chef and found him to be amicable too. Do try it if you are in the area. There is a hotel attached, but due to time restrictions we could not stay but would have loved to. If I get back, I will have the venison again! .…

Being an avid Trip Advisor reader, we were a little sceptical about booking here as there weren't many reviews. But we needn't have worried - the place is a hidden gem! It's set in a tiny hamlet with just a few houses in the heart of the beautiful Schwarzwald, so you really feel like you're getting away from it all. We visited in January and the snowy scenes were picture-perfect. The Gasthof is run by a very welcoming family who did their absolute best to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. We ate at the restaurant downstairs and the food was fabulous - local dishes cooked to perfection. The friendly chef came out to visit each table in person and make sure that everyone was enjoying their food (although he wasn’t intrusive). The breakfast buffet was also tasty and plentiful – typical cheeses, meats and bread with eggs, cereals, fruit and kuchen. The rooms are very cosy, well-appointed and modern whilst retaining elements of Schwarzwald charm. I loved seeing the beautifully coloured wild birds in the tree outside the window (jays and a nuthatch). Thank you for a wonderful stay, we'll be back soon.…
