We had the very nice apartment No.1, which was very well equipped with everything. The beds were excellent, the bathroom generously sized, the terrace large, and finally the kitchenette with fridge, stove and oven perfect. Cleaning was perfect every day (although a 3-day rhythm was mentioned in the documents), even the toilet paper did not have to be bought yourself after use as was said in the instructions. Also the garage space was easily accessible and secure. Small minus: the pool was very small, but in the morning at 8 o'clock nobody used it except me, so you could swim halfway well.
Overall everything almost perfect - except for breakfast: Unfortunately, there were only a few "fixed menus" here, the cappuccino should have been paid extra, the water as well. Fruit was only available in connection with yogurt pre-packaged, but fresh and delicious. With the fried eggs, I only got what I wanted once with 5 orders, and a few times the 2 eggs with 2 bacon strips took up to half an hour. We would still come back here, moreover it is only 15 minutes to drive to Knysnya

We celebrated my 50’th birthday at the Butterfly Blu and Brenton Haven recently.
And what a celebration it was! The venue was spectacular, and the catering was out of this world.
From day one, Johlanda and her team was extremely organized, and the pre-event arrangements was timeous and from an excellent quality and standard. Johlanda (and my wife) arranged everything in detail, quite a task if an event is held in Brenton and you are resident in Polokwane.
On the day of the event, everything went smoothly, with no hitches whatsoever. The venue and catering were 100% spot-on. The bar staff, kitchen staff and waiters (Teenage and his team) were friendly, fast, and efficient. It takes quite a lot for any venue to deliver 50+ perfectly prepared steaks all at one time. Not one of our guests complained in any way or manner about any food, drinks, or service. Our guests were catered for in detail, from persons with allergies to persons with other food preferences (vegetarians and vegans).
As most of our guests were from other provinces, most guests also made use of the Brenton Haven hotel, and once again not a single guest was disappointed in any of the hotel or facilities. The group discount offered for event guests, also made the accommodation very reasonably priced and our guests were indeed impressed by both the Butterfly Blu restaurant and the Brenton Haven hotel.
It was an absolute pleasure to host my celebration at the Butterfly Blu and I will recommend the use of the Butterfly Blu and Brenton Haven for any occasion or event. If I had to score my whole experience, I will score it 10 out of 10.
I wish to heartfully thank the whole of the Butterfly Blu and Brenton Haven team, with what can only be described as a once in a lifetime, extremely successful birthday celebration.

Brenton on Sea and Brenton Haven resort is my happy place. I am sitting on the deck of unit 31 after having just taken in a breathtaking sunset on the beach just a short walk away.
This is our second visit here and as soon as i leave.. i yearn to come back. We started our stay in suite 2 which is a 1 bedroom suite above the restaurant. It is a beautiful, clean, modern unit with an open plan that is designed to give you the best views from all rooms. We then extended our stay and were given unit 31, a 3 bedroom villa, at the same rate as the suite which is a welcomed gracious gesture on the part of management. The 3 bedroom villa is absolutely amazing. A fully equipped kitchen with the same clean, modern furnishings. 3 en suite bedrooms, each with their own showers and an extra guest toilet downstairs point to the extra touches of consideration.
The best part is the deck that offers panoramic views of the unspoilt beach. Absolutely heavenly.
The staff are friendly and even though this is a fully self catering resort, the cafe offers delicious pastries and quiche for breakfast and/or lunch. The on site Butterfly Blue restaurant opens from Thursdays to Sundays and offers delicious fresh food, we had the line fish and hake and both were perfect. Ofcourse the views are amazing, try to go at sunset and book a table on the deck.
I cant wait to be back again.

We stayed here for 3 nights towards the end of our Garden Route tour to chill out. Whilst located about a 20min drive away from Knysna, the views were stunning, accommodation excellent, staff friendly and helpful. If you don't want to drive into Knysna, the resort can arrange a taxi at reasonable rates.The superb location offers direct access to the long, sweeping, quiet and clean beach of Brenton Bay. There is also a local bar/ restaurant within 3 mins walk of the resort if you fancy a change from the hotel food and bar, although these are very good in their own right.

The service at Brenton Haven was, as always, friendly and professional. We received a warm welcome, and our suite was well-appointed, spacious and comfortable. The kitchen and bathroom were both well equipped and the bedroom had more than enough cupboard space with a kingsize double bed of excellent quality. What we enjoyed most, were the lovely sea views in two directions. We could enjoy the sunset from the comfort of our lounge or balcony. Truly exceptional service and accommodation!

Great location and minutes walk to what is a fantastic beach. We were really impressed with how spacious and clean the suite was when we arrived, the room was also serviced daily to a really good standard. The staff were really friendly during our stay and any requests have never been too much trouble. Food in the restaurant is fab at both dinner and breakfast. Can’t really think of anything bad to say… and I can be fussy at times! We will definitely be coming back here again on our next trip - thanks so much!!

We visited Brenton Haven from 22-24 Feb 2022 & stayed in room/suite 3 . The booking & check in process was easy & efficient. Front desk staff were always friendly. The best part about this resort is definately the views & hearing the waves all night long. From the Resort Reception it is around 200m down a walkway & you on a lovely beach , clean & nice soft sand. There are public restrooms which were always clean. The beach was safe & very seldom free of a few people. One is able to swim , to the right of Castle Rock but I suggest being wary of the cross currents if you not an able swimmer.
The room was really modern , clean & had everything we needed. There was an outside covered braai which we used a few times with seating to eat outdoors. Only gripe & reason for 4 rating was the smell from the bath/basin drains which was attended to promptly but not completely sorted out.
There are 2 restaurants on site , 1 where you can have breakfast that opens at 8am & the other opens later & stays open a bit later as well . We did not dine at either but they were popular with external guests as well.
The Resort also has a pool & gym on site , gym is quite big & has all the basic necessities for a good workout.
Had a very good experience & loved the setting & proximity to the beach . About 6km outside of Knysna town

Have been coming for many years now. U20 offers a two bedroom self-catering unit with one of the best views the hotel can offer. The right corner wall is open, thus giving you view to the inviting blue pool and a magnificent sunset behind the bay. Lovely beach strolls.Close to hotel amenities.During summer, all doors can slide open for a cool breeze. There are inverter batteries for load shedding. The whole area is well known for its beauty and popularity. Best to book directly at hotel to ensure you get this gem.

We were very privileged to spend a few days at this coastal haven. We stayed in a 1 bedroomed villa with splendid ocean views. The villa was extremely clean and neat as a pin, extremely well equipped and well secured. All the staff including reception, cleaning staff and maintenance staff were very professional, friendly and helpful. The restaurant and coffe shop on the premises is a real bonus and serves delicious meals. Staff is also very friendly and professional and service excellent. This resort is highly recommended if you need a well deserved rest.

We're from JHB and decided to go celebrate my partners birthday in Knysna. In the planning phase of our trip, I made several calls to enquire about shuttle services, an itinerary of things to do there and Nolo was our contact there. She sent through contact details, a very detailed list of things to do, she made great recommendations and was very helpful. Our flight arrived very early and we weren't sure what to do with our time because we wanted to change, grab a bite to eat before commencing with our plans for our trip. So I phoned Brenton to see if we can check in early and they were so accommodative, we spoke to Nolo and she said it was okay. To our surprise, they then decided to upgrade our room as a kind gesture for the birthday boy. We managed to grab a bite to eat at the restaurant (may I add how spectacular the views are). We finished eating and went on with our plans. The next day. on my partners birthday, we went Whale watching and town touring, upon our return, Nolo had organized some bubbles for us and it was chilling in the ice bucket, they went out of their way to do a birthday card for my partner and I could see how that really made his evening so much better. We appreciate this kind of service and I would love to go visit again, and hopefully the weather will be on it's best behavior. When you go visit Brenton Haven, just know you'll be in good hands. Everyone is friendly and helpful. Top notch service!
