I have been coming to this place for the last 4 years when I return back home for a break.
I have always stayed in the same rooms and happy with it. They are perfect for what we need and service is done with a smile.
We had a problem with the safe and the window and due to time constraints I had to call reception to get it fixed. Upon on my return later that day everything was fixed and the service staff left me a voicemail and an email to update me on the repair/fixing.
I had asked for an extra bed this year and first they did give me the couch but when i asked if it was possible to get a real bed, they actually did without a glitch and with a smile!
They also have laundry and iron facilities in the basements and when you travel with a family for a couple of weeks this is a great amenity to have!
Overall a good place to stay... bad point is that they are closed over Christmas so we will need to find a solution for that...

My party of four travelled to Belgium from Aberdeen and stayed in two rooms at the Boardhouse in Leuven as our base for the 2014 Rock Werchter festival.
The hotel location is in a pleasant suburb called Heverlee, which has numerous shops, cafes and pubs close by and is a five minute walk from its own railway platform, just one stop away from Leuven Central. There are also frequent buses into the town centre, which is alternatively a 30 minute walk through suburban Heverlee and the lovely university quarters into the splendid old centre.
We got back to Leuven most nights from the festival around midnight and either took taxis back to the residence or walked through the streets which were always quite busy and felt very safe.
The lodgings themselves (which are more centrally located in Heverlee, five minutes’ walk from the hotel reception & main building) were a delight to get back to, especially on the days that were rainy. Our rooms were spacious and clean, and although we didn’t use the cooking facilities in the rooms, I did use the free washing machine and dryer in the basement – very convenient once the festival site became muddy.
The hotel management and staff were really welcoming, friendly and helpful, and our entire experience in Leuven was really pleasant. The Festival was a huge success, and having the Boardhouse and Heverlee as our home from home really added to the whole experience.
Book early for Rock Werchter 2015!

I had been using the Boardhouse accommodation before, and was quit impressed by the price quality ratio of the place.
Unfortunately the " what you see is what your get" quote doesn't seem to be the m.o. of the owner of this place…
Even though i booked a room in the Boardhouse accommodation ( via booking.com) i was " moved" without any warnings, without any reason, and without excuses tho the adjacent Boardhousing accommodation 600 meters away from Boardhouse.
This place is much more noisy - and breakfast and/or check-out is impossible there…
If somebody feels like having breakfast - no issue for this owner - just pack your stuff, drive/walk back to Boardhouse and have your breakfast over there - not a big deal right…??
Perhaps true if you're not on a business trip, and if you'r not sleeping over 100 days/year in a hotel…( like me ..)
Shame on you Boardhouse - i'll forget about you asap, and i'll make some "noise" within my network to help my friends forget about you.

The rooms are spacious and clean, even in the location next to the market (though it's a bit noisy). But that's where the good stops.
We booked for 4 nights initially, then wanted to change our booking to 3 nights because we wouldn't make the airport on time. We were informed we could change our reservation at no extra cost, but then we were told that the rate had gone up from 64 to 110 € per night. That means 3 nights were actually more expensive than 4! We begrudgingly agreed to this, though when we initially booked, the rate was the same for 3 or 4 nights. When we paid, the rate had gone up another 5 €, to 115.
So beware of this dishonest property!

Be careful when booking this hotel, I had to depart 1 day in advance and I've been charged as originally booked. I thas happen to me in other hotels to change the plan after check-in and I've never had issue or have been charged for the other nights. They shoud better ask money in advance then will be clear when booking.

We stayed here for a night. We had booked a 'romantic' weekend in this hotel. When we checked in we received a little bottle of champagne, some beauty products, and a movie. Our room was just amazing! I think it must be the most beautiful room we ever stayed in. The bathroom was huge and the bathtub just amazing. Overall there's nothing wrong I can tell you about this hotel. The breakfast was also very good and the service is perfect.

I stayed at this hotel (actually I was in their dependence called Boardhousing, about 200m away from the main building) during a three-day business trip for a meeting at the KU Leuven. For that the location was very convenient - it's between 5 to 10 minutes by foot. To the city center you can either go by bus (1,60 EUR, 10 minutes) or you can walk (20 minutes).
The hotel itself had nicely decorated room of a very generous size, a perfect desk for working, free wireless access, quite a big bathroom with a tub and, to my surprise, a fully-equipped compact kitchen hidden in a cupboard. This room would this be comfortable even if I had been a visiting scientist working at Leuven for a longer time.
For the breakfast, I had to go to the main building, and it cost 12 EUR. However, I would say the breakfast was really worth the money! The service was also very friendly. All in all I can recommend this hotel both to business travellers and to people wanting to stay a few days to enjoy Leuven.

This was a great hotel. We had a triple/junior suite which was very roomy and a single that had wonderful balcony/terrace. I found the decor very appealing not your typical hotel that looks like every other hotel. The hotel has 2 restaurants. We ate at Voltaire and the meal was fabulous. If being in downtown Leuven is important, it might not work but otherwise, I would highly recommend The Boardhouse.

This little hotel is a gem! It is very close to some nice locations (churches, castle turned university, "pub district" of Leuven, parks .....) and has an excellent price/value ratio. The hotel staff was very friendly, the room was clean, nice with modern furniture, very modern bathroom facilities and even an espresso machine!! A very pleasent surprise and i can highly recommend it to everyone who looks for some nice place to stay in Leuven.
