I stayed here one night. The receptionist understands English well and clearly. I stayed in a 2nd floor room in an old building which was beautiful and clean. The wooden floors creak as we walk. Bathing using a bathtub in a sitting position or folding your legs because you cannot bathe standing up. The cold breakfast was adequate and boiled eggs, the egg omelette was very salty. Lots of fruit. Free parking area on the side of the road.

As a family group of 6 adults +1 toddler, we enjoyed our 2 night stay at the Lodge Heverlee together with a dinner at its restaurant on the first evening. The staff are friendly, the rooms are clean, comfortable and charming. The hotel is perfectly located just 10 mins away from the city centre by bicycle. We would stay again.

Good value for money for a place full of charm. Yes, the stairs creak but that's great. The breakfast is delicious, plentiful and the staff pleasant. The icing on the cake is that there is a secure space for bicycles.

I stayed at Hotel The Lodge Heverlee, a few weeks ago. I was VERY disappointed. First, I noticed that the sink had no drain cover. No big deal, but not a very sanitary look. Next, I set the AC and went to sleep. This was the first night's sleep after 36 hours of flying and driving. The fan went on, but in the morning the temperature never moved. It was as high as 25 degrees. And lastly, the floor was disgusting. This is my right hand (thumb near the card) pressed against the floor on ONE tile wiped with my towel. This means I tracked though this muck, dragged it to bed with me, and slept in it. Either the floor had never been cleaned in a long time, or floor dirt from every other guest suite in the hotel was also wiped on this floor. Either way, I'm disgusted.

Normally I don't write such public negativity, but I have tried the front desk and emailing with an unsatisfying reply. So, now this.

We were 6 adults staying at the Lodge for a weekend to visit Leuven. The rooms were above the reception area and check in was very straight forward. We enjoyed an excellent breakfast with lots of variety. The staff were also very helpful in the bar area in the evenings.
The hotel is a 25/30 min walk from the Oude Markt which was ideal for us. I would certainly recommend this hotel to others.

Hotel is a bit out of town (2k) but nice and quiet. Suite rooms are very spacious set around a courtyard.
Staff helpful, restaurant does a good selection for dinner
Opposite a university park campus which is nice for a walking/jogging
No shower only a bath

Good hotel for a short stay, room was clean, quiet and with very good bed! Bathroom with shower, just no closets in the room.
Friendly staff, great breakfast.
A little too expensive for what it was but that probably has to do with supply and demand (Werchter).

Wonderful! I had work near Leuven and my host suggested The Lodge. My husband came along so we made it a vacation. I cannot say enough about how excellent our stay was. All the staff are courteous an help in any way possible. The facility is beautiful. The our room was very large and overlooked a large courtyard private for the guests. The gardens, plantings, atmosphere was inspiring and relaxing. The breakfast buffet was extremely generous. The location is a short walk south of Leuven, along a tree lined street bordering the Arenberg Castle now belonging to the university. From our hotel, you see across to the castle and grounds, a short walk across the street, e.g. 50 feet. There, you enter the campus and woods with a magnificent bicycle path--we rode for 3 hours one day.

The hotel had bicycles which they said they were not upkeeping and were going to discontinue. TO THE HOTEL: PLEASE KEEP THE BICYCLES. One reason we stayed there is because of previous reports on the bicycles. To had easy access to the bikes and go across to the forest really made the trip. Plus, seems like everyone in Leuven bicycles everywhere. If we had to rent a bike someplace, that would have been a great problem as we had no extra time due to my business meetings.

Others have written of the spartan modern decor in the rooms. Only ask and you shall receive. Easy to get more towels and pillows. A few extra lamps in our second floor room might have been nice as it was a tad dark, but being May, and light so late, it did not really matter. Really, it was great. And typical of Belgium, everything was clean and spotless!

In any case, I would give this hotel a 9 out of 10 for my personal scale. Quiet, charming, wonderful staff, beauty everywhere, convenient, a close walk or take the bus to the town, with the ability to relax outside in the private gardens and courtyard feeling like you are at a home and not a hotel; a 20 minute walk to the town; a beautiful town with cafes and students; bicycles to explore all the forests around the area; all buses stop at the train station. It could not be easier.

We want to return to Leuven someday to bike the other forests a little ways away, and enjoy more of this wonderful, beautiful city with the combined flavors or one of the world's most famous universities.

They need to improve a lot their service and customer service.

No solutions provided to a problem. I always expect solutions or alternatives when i have a problem. Here the only answer is: im sorry i can not help.

Next night i stayed in hotel next to it. I will not recommend this place. I AM SORRY.

Underground car park but only for small cars, down a steep ramp and sharp bend at bottom, discouraged totry to enter by reception. Parking in the street and difficult to get a place initially. Not happy with that fact. Hotel tried to charge again even though already paid via Hotel.com and wanted much less than charged to me by Hotel.com!!! Moral here.. Room No 16 had bare rough brick walls with 20 ft plus ceiling, very tiny bedside lights and a 2x6 window so room was very dark, acknowledged by receptionist but didnt offer better. My garage is better equipped. Bathroom was a half walled cubicle, no door or any privacy, set inside the room. I could see over the top whilst showering plus a curtain rail which I needed to limbo dance under to get to the showerhead. Tiny lamp over mirror so impossible to shave. Air conditioning rubbish so very sleepless night. Restaurant food quite good but expensive for what was on offer. Very strange breakfast setting with little choices and a single cup of coffee. No pots here....One to miss.
