Rwakobo rock is a lovely place to relax where you can enjoy the sunset from the top of the rock whilst sipping a cold beer. We stayed in zebra cottage: a very spacious and nicely decorated room with a warm shower; we particularly appreciated that the USB-charging points and the bedside tables were inside the mosquito nets. There are plenty of cultural and sporting activities on offer as well as a swimming pool. We decided to do a bike ride around the National Park (beware the $30 fee for bringing a bike into the park is PER PERSON!). Although we are told that there were the plenty of animals outside the park (and we certainly saw many on the way to the lodge and IN the lodge), we chose to do the ride inside the park to see the giraffes up close. The ride is not overly challenging but there are a few long steep hills and the knee of a member of our party gave up towards the end. Very kindly, Edwin, the staff from Rwakobo lodge who was looking after us in case of flat tyres and other bike problems, organised for a car to come and pick up that person and her bike inside the National Park (!).
The food was fine and there was a choice of 3 main courses.
We had been to the National Park a few times as a day trip from Kampala but had never slept over: there is so much on offer at Rwakobo Lodge that we will certainly come back.
There was wifi and many teenagers were certainly using that facility, glued to their screens, but we had connectivity issues.

I had a wonderful stay here with my mum and 8 month old daughter in tow. The road is really bumpy coming in but a 4x4 nails it and you need that for the game drive too. The location of the main reception/ dining/ lounge and pool area has a wonderful view over the rocks looking at the national park. We stayed in double family lodge and it was nice as it had views from the windows.

The lodge itself is basic but nice, usb ports to charge phones but no other sockets for hairdryers etc as it is all run on solar power. It can get cool at night as there are no glass windows, just mesh but it’s perfectly fine for the location. It does get super dark at night so if you have young children maybe a portable nightlight will come in handy. I carry a head torch with me all the time so walking to and from the lodge to the reception are for food was ok for me but you can borrow torches from behind reception you just need to ask.

I found the food nice and the complementary tea and coffee is great idea. They accommodated for my mums food allergies and also offered to blend food for my baby. The dining area overlooks the park and it was really nice to eat and admire the landscape….possibly spot a zebra amongst the cattle. The staff there are all amazing, helpful and friendly. We had a rough morning with the LO and they brought breakfast to us which was really lovely to be able to eat out and enjoy the view from the lodge.

Our family of four stayed in Mongoose Cottage and had plenty of space for all our luggage as well as the two additional beds for the kids. The shower had plenty of hot water and we were provided with 4 towels (which was noted because many places we have stayed at with the children lately have only provided two which is very inconvenient). The lodge has a great pool, lots of puzzles and games for kids and adults, incredible food that was catered to my special needs including a chocolate gateau (gluten and dairy free), and very friendly and helpful staff. The evening campfires were always appreciated as well as the huge and delicious packed lunch that we took for our game drive and boat tour one day. There is a playground for the kids and climbing the rock is something the whole family enjoyed for sundown. I can't think of anything I would change!

We've just spent 1 night in the Mongoose Lodge with our 3 kids. It was an amazing experience. The staff is super friendly, helpful and customer service level at its best. The lodge was super clean even though without windows, with the noise of the night and wildlife surroundings giving it an indescribable experience. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone visiting the Nburo N.P. Dinner area offers a magnificent view, food is fresh and simply delicious. Heads up and massive congrats to the entire team. What a way to start discovering Uganda!

This place could offer so much more. The location is great located on a rocky hill with view over the surrounding forest. The main building with restaurant is a beautiful piece of architecture. Unfortunately the food is nothing special. The rooms are ok and quite spacy but they come without a view (at least our room did). The place appears to be poorly organized and management is almost absent. We ordered breakfast to be ready at 6.30 but had to wait almost half an hour before it was ready. This is not ok when you have a tight schedule. Also we had to carry our bags from the rooms because it took such a long time for anybody to arrange for the pickup. Not recommended.

Stayed here for one night at the end of a tour which also included a stay in Turaco treetops that was also designed by the late owner. Based on location (the view) staff, food and wifi, I would rate this just the best of the places I stayed in. My wife and I sat up and watched the sunset and then had an excellent meal. I thought the staff were excellent and enjoyed talking to the current manager was very visible.

We stayed here and did a game drive in the Lake Mburo NP which was magnificent. The best thing about the hotel is the open verandah type feeling of the reception and the restaurant. Unfortunately, there were screaming children running around during the evening meal (Christmas Eve) and mothers shouting across the restaurant at the children, which quite honestly isn't very pleasant for other diners.

It was my husband's birthday so I asked to be moved to a table that was quieter, it was just too loud and unpleasant for us as a couple. Then the smoking/vaping started and I really don't want to inhale another person's smoke whilst I'm eating. There was a sign at Reception saying No Smoking, but no enforcement.

The food was average- I'm vegetarian and didn't find the offering very appealing. The breakfast (part buffet, part served) was on a table where people were helping themselves to stuff without wearing masks and it felt like some guests thought they were at home and that everything was laid out just for them.

The reception staff were very helpful.

The room (python) was basic, very little hot water, I didn't have a problem with the chargers. The location and the lay out of the resort is very promising, when we arrived we were very happy. When we left we were happy to say "Safari Njema".

I stayed at the Bushbuck cabin with great views! The room looked very cute and has a nice shower, mosquito net and a safe box to keep valuables in. There are 2 usb charging facilities in the cabin, very convenient. It also has a small seating area outside. The restaurant area provides wifi and the building is an amazing construction. Outside the restaurant you have a swimming pool and some benches to enjoy the fantastic view and sunset. When you go back to your room bring a torch because the way is not lighted. You are in the middle of nature so in the beginning I was a bit worried about all the monkeys around my cabin but I realised they were scared of me. Dinner was a bit average for me, but the guide with me really liked his fish. And there were many options for breakfast and I enjoyed breakfast a lot (toast with avocado). The manager came to say hi to me and we had a nice chat. Lake Mburo National Park is very shortby. I stopped here on the way back to Entebbe from Mgahinga, as it is in the middle of the long way back.

I have just finished my stay at this lovely hotel. It is set amongst the remote hills with the sounds of birds and monkeys all around. A small, high spec swimming pool over looks the sunset. They have cold craft beers and all the drinks are reasonably priced. (Under 3 dollars for a gin and tonic or glass of wine). Nothing was too much trouble. Even though the hotel was quiet, they lit a camp fire every night where I was joined by some members of staff who told interesting stories about life in the hills! On the doorstep of the national park, I couldn’t have been happier with this hotel. A big thank you to all the staff!! I hope to see you again

Normally I prefer exploring new places rather then returning to places I’ve already been but this stay was my third time here.

I loved it the first time (dec 2020) and the service and the quality of the rooms have improved every time. So has the food. The view is astonishing and the game park is great if you want to see many animals in only a few couples of hours.

The relaxed and somewhat simple approach is enjoyable rather than lacking. The bathrooms are well maintained and the place uses rain water and solar panels as resources.
Wifi is ok by the lobby/restaurant.
I’ve stayed both in a room and two different cottages. Both which were nice.

I recommend Rwakobo Rock if you want to be close to nature and just be, and stay comfortable.

This time I drove from Kampala around 3pm to get in time for dinner at Rwakobo rock in the evening. Game drive the next morning and a bike tour in the afternoon and returned to Kampala after a pleasant breakfast the 3rd day.

there is an outside pit toilet and solar heated shower, and the tent is big enough to stand in and has two beds with sheets etc and a small table. There are two chairs outside under the shade with a view of the bush. there is a paraffin light and they are a short walk from the main area , so you get all the use of the great lodge for a cheaper price.

We run entirely on solar therefore there are no charging facilities in the rooms, however we have central charging station in the main dining area. This will allow you to charge your phones, cameras, laptops etc...
