Our school group recently spent a night at Hanmer Springs Forest Park and it perfectly met our needs. We loved the configuration of the bunk rooms around the central courtyard. The kitchen was very well-resourced with everything you need for a school group. The large dining room and lounge were a great size for our group of 33. The showers and toilets are central to the bunk rooms and are kept very clean. The communication prior to our stay was excellent and the systems they have in place make it easy to manage your group's stay. We would recommend Hanmer Springs Forest Camp to other school groups, and we will definitely be back.

We arrived a short time before our check in time and waited for staff to open the reception room as they were still doing the cleaning . The receptionist was very friendly ,helpful ,and obliging to us .The slf contained unit had a wet floor shower with good pressure , basin and WC in the bathroom area , A small kitchenette with a stove top , microwave, jug , and a toaster. All cutlery and cooking utensils were supplied as well as pots , frying pans , plates , glasses and cups . the bed was comfortable with pillows and bed ware supplied also . there was a lack of charging plugs for electronic devices but the camp supplied us with a plug box to help us .The unit we were in was on the end of other units and it was very quiet and restful for us .We will be back and would recommend the camp to other users .

We had a group of 12 of us between different huts and rooms and we were all pretty stoked with the price of the accommodation, the cleanliness of the rooms and what facilities the camp provided us. there were some mix-ups with what a few people in our group ordered (room wise) and what they actually got given which was a bit frustrating considering they couldn't talk to owners/managers about it immediately as we were all late check-in. Otherwise, loved it and the camp was awesome with everything they had on offer. Would just recommend lots of blankets as the huts get cold especially when dealing with -5 in the mornings we were there. Would definitely come back as it was cheap, clean and had lovely staff.

Hi Trinity, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review we appreciate it. I am pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us and your group appreciated what the camp has to offer and the price of our accommodation. I apologise for the mix up with the room allocation, if you ever find the need to contact staff outside of hours again in the future please do use the after-hours intercom system or phone the after-hours phone number located in your room as we would never wish for you to be in a room that you did not book. I look forward to seeing you again in the future. Regards Donna

We thoroughly enjoyed our family stay here. The staff was welcoming, and the room we booked, a quadruple and twin hutt, was tidy, including the window sill, walls, and mattresses. However, I wouldn't recommend the twin hutt during winter; it lacks insulation, and the panel heater isn't sufficient for colder temperatures. Throughout our stay, there were nightly water cuts, rendering the toilets unusable. The communal spaces were not cleaned daily; the kitchen floor remained dirty, and hand towels were unchanged and damp. Additionally, the cooking area felt inadequate, especially during peak times, leading to long queues for cooking facilities. The other things we liked about this place was clear written instructions were up all around the facility.

what a beautiful place to stay while enjoying hot springs downtown!
we are camping our way through NZ but here we slept in a real bed and refreshed ourselves completely.
The beds are very comfy, the kitchen is fully equipped and one can cook anything there. It is also a very nice place to spend the evening. Bathrooms are clean and warm.
The camp is quiet, surrounded by forest and many walking paths, as well as a waterfall.
The only thing is that wifi is not free but must be purchased. Perhaps that could be changed.

The Hanmer Springs Forest Camp is a great place to stay. We have stayed there a couple of times and most recently stayed in the Matariki self contained unit which was great and has everything that you need including private cooking facilities, bathroom and a SmartTV (which was quite unexpected but something that my youngest child was delighted by!). The unit is set up to be accessible so the benchtops etc. are at a low height but this is not a problem for able bodied people. The location is a pleasant 25 min walk from the Village and is surrounded by numerous walking and mountain biking trails. Overall, I would fully recommend.

I stayed here with my two daughters (9 and 12) in a cabin and was really impressed with the value for money. Everything was in great condition and there was heaps of little extras (movie room/ games room, fully stocked kitchen, playground). I'll be back!

An amazing place for our corporate work trip.
We had 30 people from our business come down to Hanmer Springs Forest Camp and this accommodation is top notch.
Our team had our own kitchen/lounge area, which was our base for all activities and gatherings, and we were in the Forestry Huts which are awesome and warm and bedding was provided (upon request) to avoid extra luggage coming down.
The fields around were put to good use with our 'disc golf' games and also using the services of Activity Hanmer was super convenient.
Our team were super stoked with the facilities and accommodation, plus Sharon and Casey were super helpful with any queries we had. I and my team couldn't recommend this place enough. I will be coming back with my family when planning a trip down south.
Thank you so much, it made planning this trip a breeze for me and I really appreciate it.

Was only for one night - The room had a really comfortable double bed and the kids loved there bunk beds. The room was actually really warm alot warmer then I was expecting they had heaters on the ceiling which was really nice it did get cold but the room was warm and cosy. The facilities were clean, we used the shared kitchen when making breakfast before we left. The kids watched a dvd while we did breakfast was neat. really enjoyed it. will definitely be back again

Friendly and clean budget accommodation, close to Hanmer Forest walking and biking trails. My daughter and I stayed in one of the small bunk cabins, which kept cosy with the small electric heater. The communal kitchen area was also very warm and a social hub to meet other families. The ablution areas were impressively neat and clean. The kitchen area was a bit tired and dated, and one stove didn't work, but otherwise had everything needed plus. The sleeping area walls are thin and late night movements/closing doors did disturb my sleep on the first night. Overall, comfortable and affordable accommodation where we made new friends.
