Good price, old décor but spotlessly clean. Person who checked us in was grumpy, never smiled, hardly spoke and when we went to ask him to look at the TV which we couldn't get to turn on (as did another guest at the same tine as us) he came to the chalets very reluctantly and once got it working walked out without a word. For NZ places who have probably suffered through COVID financially he should be welcoming people with cheerfulness - we felt like we were "in the way" of his day - and the office smelt revoltingly of dog. Otherwise a nice place and lovely and quiet.

Clean and tidy, nice outlook but hardest bed and worst pillows ever slept on. Main room light not working properly (flickering) and steps into cabin need some work.

Yes, the place is old and the furniture is dated. BUT, it is extremely clean and tidy, everything works well, the beds are very comfortable and we slept all very well. The views over Hanmer are great. The lights and how they are switched show that everything is thought through, the heating and heat distribution is genius.

Stayed here for 2 nights recently. The toilet inflow pipe was leaking and we were greeted with water on the floor when we arrived at Unit 10. This was fixed when reported, however the shower was not working due to no hot water pressure which is not acceptable. The manager refused to refund us any money for this and only offered a free spa for compensation and even argued with us over the issue. As we were forced to ask friends to use their showers at other motels that is not acceptable. Unit 10 is very dated with grimy bathrooms and broken glass in several windows. Will not be staying here again and I do not recommend this place to anyone.

We stayed here because it was the only place available due to a busy public holiday weekend. It was very underwhelming fir what we paid ($145 a night) the living area was very clean, but the bedroom smelt like a musty old suitcase. We found a half used bottle of baby oil in the bedroom windowsill that wasn't ours (ew) and the bottom of the shower doors had mould and soap scum stuck in it.
Only one option if tea or coffee and we got offered no milk.
Gap under the front door let the cold air in so we blocked it up with our shoes or a sweatshirt.
The bed was lumpy, squeeky and smelly, pillows were cheap and uncomfortable.
No complimentry toiletries just a liquid hand soap, and no sky TV. Just a normal tv channel selection.
Needless to say we did not enjoy our stay very much and won't be back. Nor would we recommend.
Bust I must mention, new owners have only been there a couple of months we found out, so there may be improvements to come making it better value for money one day

Very unclean, coffee cups not washed properly, holes in the carpet, used bandage left on side table by the single bed.
Don't know how this dude justifies charging $135 for substandard accommodation not to mention a charge of $50 added without my knowledge for an apparently missing toilet spray which wasn't in the room when we arrived.
I think this is very unprofessional.
I advise don't stay at Greenacres Alpine Chalets & Villas in Hanmer Springs.

In a state of disrepair .Its obvious money hasn’t been spent on this Motel for a long time.
Very dated, bbq was broken broken planks in the deck and just dirty, Have no idea how it got this rating... Even my 10yr old took one look and said mummy this place is really dirty. It’s very 1970s and that is fine if it was clean but it def isn’t.

The location is nice enough, just outside the town. Room was spacious with full kitchen. There is a hot spa to hire unfortunately it was broken.
The negatives are that it looks a bit run down and there was lots of dog hair in the bedroom- on the floor and the bedspread.

We stayed in a 2 bedroom unit with some of the rest of our family in the adjacent unit. Our lounge was extremely spacious so when the rest of the family arrived to surprise the birthday boy we were all able to sit comfortably and join in much catching up after many years. The unit was lovely and warm when we arrived and it doesn't matter if the decor is a little dated - it matters a lot that it is clean and the beds are comfortable. This was very much how it was. We also had a bonus of easy access off the top road and the carport right next to the door. Fantastic views - so great to watch all the different weather patterns coming and going. Will be returning for sure.

We stayed in a 2 bedroom unit. The set up is great, just like it was when i stayed here in the 1990s as a teenager with my parents...unfortunately, NOTHING has changed since then, other than the current owners neglect the grounds and and maintenance required. These units are old, dated, shabby and in desperate need of some TLC. Dripping taps, threadbare carpet, buzzing tv with terrible picture quality, overgrown grass in the play area....just to name a few issues. The one bonus is the 2 bed unit was spacious and there was a heat pump.
