Welcome to Alpine Adventure Holiday Park, your family holiday destination in Hanmer Springs in the beautiful unspoiled South Island of New Zealand. Situated just 2.5km outside the town in a quiet, bush-clad valley at the foot of Jack’s Pass, the park is set on the site of an historic staging post once used by drovers and musterers bringing stock through to Molesworth Station. Even today this is still the largest working farm in the South Island High Country of New Zealand. We are pleased to offer a large range of Hanmer Springs Accommodation options to suite all tastes and budgets. The park boasts the best facilities around including a pool, games room, adventure playground, bikes and more.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stayed in a cabin with kitchen and bathroom. Nicely decorated and comfy and warm. The staff were lovely friendly and accommodating. My husband had recently had operation on foot and was disabled, staff offered a special shower chair which made life a lot easier and suggested we take it on our trip and bring it back when we returned in a week amazing thank you.

Stayed 2 nights in their static caravan (old school 1970s?) Was better than expecting given the cheap price. Best things were the satelite tv with decent internet connection so was able to watch netflix, and there was also a very good convection heater so was as warm as toast. Only small annoyance was no running water, so if you stay here you really need to bring a big container of water if you want to make your cuppas without leaving the caravan. Site does have communal kitchen, toilets etc and a basic gamesroom. Site is nice and quiet but caravan is neart to the playground, so a bit of noise, but only an issue if you want to sleep early. Would have been 5 starts but for no water, but for the price it good value

Popped up to Hanmer Springs for Easter. Been years since we visited ad golly the town has grown. Stayed up at Alpine Holiday Park (Use to be the old AA Motor Camp in the day). Couples trip with two camper buses and we took ot two dogs. We had a ball!! The hosts were very friendly, even to suggesting the best way for Evan to park his 11m bus and the two adjoining sites were both of a good size and were sunny. The toilets and showers were spotless, an there's no charge for the showers with ample hot water, and while we didn't use the the kitchens and family games room looked to be excellent. For those not camping or in campers there is a lodge accommodating up to 40 plus motel rooms/cabins. Children on site were well catered for with pedal carts and a decent sized play ground area. The camp is a wee distance out of town; no issue with an e-bike, but it makes up for that by being lovely and peaceful. Ideal for a long weekend break.

Lovely spot. Good view of the mountains by the river out back, cabin was a bit cold but can be expected in winter. Very nice great success! Would definitely love to come here again!! Staff were lovely as well, super helpful and friendly - cute shops nearby for a nice feed.

We had to leave quickly after being verbally harassed repeatedly by another camper, as we felt unsafe. We immediately let the accommodation know via email who fobbed us off and told us we were lying. They refused to refund us and have ignored follow-up emails. Do not recommend staying here as the business does not take guest safety at all seriously.

Response from Alan Kuriger, Owner at Alpine Adventure Holiday Park
Responded 25 Jan 2022
Hi Andrew, my understanding is that your friend was talking to a tree and was asked by more than one guest if he was ok and did not reply. I have 2 guests who have confirmed this, neither saw or heard any harassment at all. As no one visited reception during this time, we were unable to talk to the person involved. We are a family Holiday park and pride ourselves on our family friendly environment.

We planned to stay at an unpowered site, but promptly after arriver and setting up our tent one of our group members was harassed repeatedly by an abusive person staying in the cabin next door. We left immediately as we felt extremely uncomfortable, and let the owners know as soon as we had left and requested a refund. No contact was made, followed up two days later and was told no refund would be given as the owners had talked to the people who had harassed us and decided that we were lying. This was without asking us what happened or attempting to rectify the situation. Still no refund and are ignoring subsequent contact, so am leaving a bad review to let others know: Don't stay here as this business doesn't take harassment seriously

We have stayed here twice now both times taking our little dog. We were booked into the tourist flat for 1 night, we booked on line but decided we would like to stay 2 nights, however when we arrived and asked if it was possible to stay 2 nights we were told they were fully booked but had a kitchen cabin we could have for 2 nights they took us over to look at it. It was much better than I expected so we took it just paying a little extra for the second night. The camp grounds are lovely and peaceful, kitchen cabin has everything except a bathroom but the toilet/shower block is so close and always warm and inviting, extremely clean we love the music and pot plants showers are AMAZING. The cabin we stayed in was nice and clean and had everything we needed including a little fridge and TV. We will definitely be coming back and back. Thankyou for your friendly hospitality 🙂
