I called Pines Holiday Park when I was coming through Lewis Pass on my own in a motorhome. I had called another but they wanted to charge me for two people but I was alone, so I declined their offer on principle. The weather in the area was sleet and rain. I arrived late but the owner still came out and made sure everything was OK. The camp is well appointed and is well sited with trees etc, good roading and what looks like a gold course adjacent. When ever I return to Hanmer Springs with or without the motohome, I will be staying and recommend the same to the reader of this.

What a friendly and welcoming arrival. We arrived in the dark and were escorted to our site. Great service, clean amenities, great park next door to walk the dog. I would certainly recommend this for your stay.

Well situated, within walking distance of town and pubs. Right next to the beautiful Hamner spring Pools and plenty of places to walk your dog. Dog friendly. Coin operated and time limit on showers. Lots of trees for shade and handy to a forest walk to suit all fitness levels. Generous powered camp site and everything was clean.

This is a nice relaxed campground. Staff are friendly and work hard keeping things clean, & it shows. The bathroom facilities, while old, are kept spotlessly clean. The shower stalls have plenty of handy hooks & a bench-seat so it's easy to keep your things dry, and get dressed in the space. We didn't use really the kitchen area, but there were hot-plates to cook on, fridge/freezer & boiling water from a boiler on the wall. There is also a BBQ area with picnic tables. Our tent site caught the morning sun, but was nicely sheltered by trees for a good mix of shade & warmth in the afternoon.

We stayed in a 2 bedroom motel unit with our two young children. The owners are absolutely lovely, very accommodating and the motel unit was very clean and tidy. The whole campground is very family orientated. The other campers were all very friendly and considerate. Dogs are allowed on leads and rules are always enforced by owners which makes the whole stay very enjoyable for all. We will definately be staying again.
