We had a friendly welcome after a long drive and the check in was quick and easy. There was even a complimentary bottle of milk. The accommodation was spotless, with a generous supply of towels, materials for hot drinks etc. The location lives up to its name, with a beautiful view of the snow topped mountains. It's also a short walk into the town for a meal or groceries.

We stayed in a 2 bedroom unit which was basic but was well built, insulated and well maintained. The only issue we encountered was the internet was only fast enough for messaging. Tested at 1.5Mbps at the best, slower or not working at all at worst. e.g. we could not make facetime voice or video calls, stream a movie, etc. In this price bracket I expect usable internet in the room. We had strong wifi so it seems to be their internet link rather than a wifi issue. If you don't need good internet then highly recommend this place.

Friendly service, stand with a family of 5 plenty of room. Had all the convinces and also pool towels for the thermal springs hotpools. Highly recommend didn't need to over pack for pur trip with linen and towels high recommend for a fuss free vacation

We were greeted by the warm and friendly manager on arrival and she never stopped serving us the whole time we were there. What an AMAZING place with stunning views of the valley and mountains from every window. We were lucky to have the honeymoon suite with the spa pool on the deck! The continental breakfast with hot almond croissants delivered to our rooms was delicious.

This has to be one of our favourite motels in NZ. It is modern and very well located. The sun streams in all day (when available!). The host has upgraded us to a three bedroom unit the last two times we have stayed. Very spacious with a wet floor shower, super comfortable bed and excellent heating. It is only a 400M walk to the hot pools and is close to restaurants and cafes. The unit has a well equipped kitchen. We will stay again.

My partner and I recently got engaged and thought we would treat ourselves to a weekend away to celebrate. When reading amenities it stated air conditioning so after looking at the room pictures that show what looks like an air conditioning unit on the wall we booked the Executive suite with hot tub. We arrived in Hanmer to a 29 degree day to find our room was a sweltering 32 degrees and no air conditioning. The next day was almost as hot. Only a wall fan and we were given a portable pedestal fan that was one of the smallest and loudest fans I have ever had the displeasure to use. When we politely asked about the air conditioning we were rudely told we should have read the room amenities and it was our own fault for booking a room with out it. We were also advised to shut the curtains (which was pretty obvious anyway) and go for a drive and use the air conditioning in the car. Due to the heat we had to sleep with the doors open & a very noisy fan going which resulted in poor sleep. We found the lady manager to be rude, aggressive and most unhelpful. All we asked for was a change of room to one that had air conditioning or a part refund and we would go elsewhere. Perhaps their amenities should state “some” rooms with air conditioning. Considering this room is advertised as the “executive” or “honeymoon“ suite and at $255 a night we would have expected a lot better for the money and for it to at least have air conditioning. There are plenty of nicer places in Hanmer for less and next time we will go without the spa and will definitely not be booking scenic views.

Nice place. Kitchen Well equipped. Good bed. Quiet and tidy. Well positioned (500m walking distance from thermal pool + towels to go there). Wehadd dinner outside our room with very nice view on the mountains. The rooms have a goof size and you have table and chairs on both sides of the apartment. Good value for money

Steps up to the unit made access less than desirable, didn’t ask to move as this unit had the spa pool on the exterior covered deck.
The spa pool meant the cost was at a higher level which was hard to justify.
Facilities in the unit were fine, including dressing gowns.

We only have 1 spa pool room and yes it is up 4 steps, this is our top level room hence price being higher.

The owners were very friendly and welcoming, Very nice and cosy room. We booked a room that had a spa bath which had awesome views over the paddocks rite to the ranges . Our room was at the back end of the property which meant we were never troubled by or heard road noise from the traffic on the main road. It’s a easy 8 or so minute to the hot pools and to the very nice restaurants etc in town . We will definitely be back at some stage and will make this motel out first choice.

This little gem was a great find. Warm, clean with up to date decor. It had everything we needed at our fingertips. It was quiet. We weren't distracted by traffic or other noise. The bed was very comfortable. Most importantly it was good value for money. The host was warm and engaging. She spent time explaining local activities and venues.
