Detailed Reviews
These two units have everything you need for an enjoyable stay. They are suitable for couples and are within walking distance of the pools and numerous eating houses. The kitchen had a gas cooktop, fridge, microwave, sink and a washing machine. The bathroom was modern and included a spa bath and shower. The bed was comfortable. Didn't have time to check out the TV.

My husband and I stayed here on our honeymoon for a couple of nights and it was our favourite place to stay on the whole trip! the couple that owns the place is lovely the lady even made us a fresh brownie for when we arrived. Also, the place was fully booked and we didn't get any excess noise from other rooms was nice and quiet. It was a wonderful experience and can't wait to stay again.

Stayed at the Harrogate Gardens Motel as a getaway for my partner and I. We were warmly welcomed and shown round, even had some hazelnut brownie made for us as a welcome. Our suite was cozy, comfortable and warm. Was so nice having a kitchenette available to us, the room was always warm and comfortable. Nice big bath as well. So so handy being within walking distance to the Main Street as well. Would definitely stay here again 😊

We booked this property through Booking.com. To say the advertising is misleading is an understatement. The photo does not portray the room in its real sense. It is advertised as spacious but a room 4mx4m that includes the bedroom, bathroom, kitchenette, and dining is hardly spacious. It is totally basic and should be called a backpackers. We canceled without paying over any money but have been charged the full amount. Disgraceful!

Stayed one night last week to break the journey back home. Our room was situated in the main house, but we had our own entraceway. Seperate shower / toilet area. Entry door to main house from room locked which allowed for own privacy.
Modern bathroom. As expected our room didn't have full kitchen facilities (toaster and kettle provided though), but was enough for a one night stay as we dined out in the evening.
Welcome brownie provided, but we just weren't that hungry to eat. Lovely gardens surrounding the house and a friendly dog.
Short walk to the Hanmer pools.

Spacious apartment for a couple; would be cosy in winter; pleasant surrounds; close to the centre of town so easy walk to shops, restaurants and the hot pools. Welcomed as soon as we alighted from the car. Good value for $$$

We had a good stay in the motel. Spotlessly clean and with everything you need for a romantic weekend away. The homemade baking was especially nice and the hosts friendly and very accommodating. The motel is in a fantastic location close to the pools and shopping. However the room was cold and stayed cold for most of the time. We also ran out of hot water after we used the spa bath, and the tiles in the bathroom were super cold. Under floor heating would go a long way. A nice place to stay but could be better.

I stayed one night and was not impressed-First of all,it was very hard to find at night and it is advertised as a luxury motel which is misleading.Sue the older women that owns the motel was not very accommodating. Harrogate is not worth the price and I would definitely go somewhere else!

This was one of the most pleasant stays we have ever had.
Our unit was tucked at the back of the owners family home, beside one other unit with a shared verandah. The spacious living/ sleeping area was spotless, with comfortable furniture and a well equipped kitchen. There is a washing machine, complete with washing powder in the room. The bathroom is large with a double spa bath.
We stayed two nights and asked for another, but unfortunately the units were all booked.
A little tray of home baked goodies was provided by Sue on both days.... A lovely touch.
Finally the motel is a minute or so walking distance to the springs and town centre, but set in a quiet street. This place is perfect!

We were sent to Harrogate Gardens as part of a Pamper Package (birthday treat) put together by Hanmer Springs I-Site. Without going into every detail of our time in Hanmer Springs the first impression of the accommodation was tired, worn and un-cared for ,the dead pot plants as you entered the room should have been enough to say what was to come. Because we were one night and we had other places to be as part of pamper package we looked past presentation and went on to enjoy Hanmer Springs which is a lovely town. we returned to unit after dinner and the smell was overwhelming , we checked bathroom and it seemed ok but the bed had a grubby valance around the bottom , the pillow cases were marked with old stains and there was a dirty top cover . we were travelling by our own vehicle so we got our pillows and blanket out and went to take the inner out of the duvet cover to use for warmth. OMG 🤮the inner cover was stained in a large patch of urine and had many many filthy marks over it. it was hideous !! The bedding under the sheets were also stained. We went straight to the house to tell owner but place was in darkness. Because we had a ferry to catch and we were leaving early in the morn we did our best to make a place to rest with our own blanket and pillows and had a near sleepless night. We contacted by email the i-site the next day because they had organised the accommodation as part of the package ,their attention to this was zero until when we tried to contact two days later and it was obvious there was a very indifferent attitude until in desperation we got thru to the manager. He did try after we insisted on some action even suggesting part of our pre-paid money be donated to a charity by Harrogate so there would be some "wake up" call. The Harrogate Motels response to the absolutely horrible state of the bedding was so lame and no responsibility was taken. PLEASE DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE. WE ARE FACING STRESSFUL TIMES WITH COVID-19 AND THE HYGIENE AT THIS MOTEL IS PITIFUL. It should be said we stayed at two other motels in different areas and these places were excellent. Harrogate Motel should close its doors and do a full hygiene assessment of its premises , we are 2020 not 1920 . Clean up Harrogate Gardens Motel now!
