Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The Henley Hotel is a stately building in a spectacular setting. We were warmly greeted upon arrival by a lovely man who showed us to the table for our high tea. The art, the furniture and the wider decor with its nod to England is captivating. The food and wine was excellent along with the waitress who attended to us. We wandered the beautiful grounds afterwards. A truly memorable birthday treat.

My wife and I stayed 2 nights. The Hotel is set in its own grounds with beautiful gardens and trees and a small lake. The surrounding countryside is rural with an English tinge. The Hotel is themed on the Henley on Thames experience. Internally the hotel is very elegant with a sweeping 'Gone with the Wind' staircase, a swimming pool and spa. Everything is immaculate. The staff are exceptional and the food was outstanding. Stayed in many places but this is up with the best in the Private Hotel style.

Three couples celebrating birthdays 31/7/21. Was so excited to bring friends to Henley this weekend just gone. Had the most exquisite 6 course meal beautifully prepared from the amazing head chef Corey and his awesome team. In addition, the most beautifully matched wines from the very professional and knowledgeable not to mention hilarious Nico, as we have fondly nicknamed him. Not my first stay here as I love the food and friendly staff who always make you feel so welcome. Nothing is ever too much trouble. Thank you once again to all the wonderful staff for your amazing food and professionalism whom of course I highly, highly recommend!!!!!

Great night at the Henley with good friends. Food was superb! 10/10! Chef Corey put together a fantastic menu and executed it to perfection. Would stay again just for the food. Nico the sommelier was fun and so great at his job! Nick was welcoming on arrival and very professional. Rooms well presented and comfortable and grounds beautiful. Definitely worth a stay if you are looking for a nice relaxing weekend away.

This was a surprise birthday weekend away, commencing with a car rally to The Henley. The main event was a Murder/Mystery dinner held on the Saturday night. There were 20 guests including 2 young children. The preparation with Hotel management leading up to the event, and the accommodating behavior of the staff over the weekend, was outstanding. Not to mention the beautiful Hotel & its garden surroundings.

After reading previous reviews. I was excited to book a birthday High Tea at Henley. However such a disappointment and must attributed solely down to the staff and chef. Beautiful sunny day, we were placed inside as its 'difficult to seat 7 outside'! No tea menu and savories were frozen packet style, sandwiches had gone crusty. Had to ask for bubbles, ask for a non alcoholic option, ask for a cup of tea!!. Beautiful Hotel and styled, lovely grounds. Suggest the staff take some high teas themselves at zeelong as an example, to see how it's done. Very expensive for what was experienced.

You would expect a boutique hotel and spa of this calibre ( The Henley Hotel in Cambridge) to have chefs who cater for vegans and vegetarians. But NO, absolutely not. I would not recommend dining here. A set menu of $89 per head was served for Christmas day lunch. Prepayment was required a week before. I liased via email before, asking if they would cater for vegans, saying there was nothing on the menu suitable for me. It was indicated they could. This is what I got for $89. Entree-cold beetroot soup ( everyone had this as an option also - it was okay) My main course was a small plate of rice risotto! Norhing else. No roast vegies cooked in oil, although the set menu said all main course options included as such, no salads, nothing! My dessert consisted of a couple slices of pineapple, kiwifruit and a few grapes! No strawberries, no melon, no dairy free yoghurt. TOTALLY USELESS. DISGUSTING IN FACT! The water in the urns for tea and coffee was luke warm. Some years back when the same premises were called Sarnia Park, I attended Christmas lunch there with family. They had a set menu far superior plus the chefs prepared wonderful vegan courses for me. The interior decor may have changed to look more palatial, but as for the food and the chefs, that's another story!A HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT.
