A lovely motel. Spotlessly clean room. Lovely linen, comfortable bed. TV and air conditioning in room. Nice pool to cool off too. Helpful and polite staff. I stayed one night as part of a team bein trained in Karapiro. Cambridge is a nice town with plenty of choices for shopping and leisure.

We booked into Podium Lodge initially for two nights, We had a large family group of 3 x couples, a pet dog & parents in a campervan. Unfortunately one of our group was admitted to Hamilton hospital unexepectedly before we had even booked in. The staff went out of their way to help us & regularly checked in with us for updates on how our family member was doing. They kept the rooms pencilled in for us - ensuring that we didn't have to change rooms at any stage & in one case charged us at a lower rate than what they could have. They even left flowers & mandarins in our rooms - ontop of this the actual accommodation was fantastic with lovely clean, quiet rooms & very comfortable beds. All the staff were exceptional to deal with - even down to the cleaners who were awesome & took a personal interest in our welfare. We would all highly recommend the Podium Lodge as the only place to stay in Cambridge.

We stayed one night and found the staff friendly and rooms tidy. Lovely spot, quiet and well off the main road A few small things let the review down. Both lampshades were not working with one needing a new bulb and the other was faulty. The beds looked new but were soft and sagging in the middle.

The room was very modern, nice and clean and relaxing. There is a large kitchen dining room on site. Outdoor swimmig pool and set in a peaceful country setting. Good amount of car parking. This accomodation is suitable for large groups for example school groups, sports group,s or in our case a car club outing. Staff very friendly and helpful. Also, 100% of the profit goes to charity which is fantastic.

Needs more general Maintenance done as many small things are broken such as doors not shutting properly, shower heads broken, pool was green etc. For the price/night paid we would expect better maintained facilities.

A few km's from Cambridge, the Podium is a lovely place to stay. The staff are very relaxed, and the amenities are brand spanking new, clean and well thought out. Perfect for a sporty, family or business trip with common area facilities and a well equipped kitchenette. Thoroughly enjoyable and would recommend to all.

We stayed for one night on a recent cycling trip to Cambridge. We immediately wanted to stay longer. Podium Lodge is perfect for cyclists, sport groups and anyone else exploring the local area. I love the fact that it is owned by a community trust and throughout our cycling trip I saw plenty of evidence that the same trust is very committed to the Waikato - the Perry Bridge, The Perry Bike Park and Podium Lodge among a few. The staff were so friendly on check in and were more than happy to open the pool for us. We had a fabulous couple of hours relaxing in the sun and swimming, with a just a cow for company across the fence. The rooms were modern, had plenty of space and were spotlessly clean. They were also surprisingly quiet despite the facility being full due to a local rowing regatta. The air con was also useful as it was a hot evening. The lodge is located on the outskirts of Cambridge on a quiet rural street, close to the Avanti Velodrome. It was just a short drive into Cambridge for dinner. We had a studio unit with two single beds (very comfy with excellent pillows - unlike many hotels). It was in a group of about 5 that opened onto a courtyard with seating. Close by was a shared kitchen if you wanted to self cater. Our room had a microwave and kettle which was all we needed. The cycling in this area was also much better than I expected and I'm looking forward to going back and heading South towards Karapiro this time. Overall this is just a perfect place to stay and very reasonably priced.

This large modern motel in very spacious grounds on the outskirts of Cambridge was a very pleasant experience. The large self-contained studio apartment was impeccable. The owners/management welcoming. Nearby is the Bikery - a huge new and state-of-the-art Velodrome with all the ancillary fitness facilities and an excellent cafe for breakfast /Coffee. Worth mentioning is the fact that Cambridge is only a short drive from Rotorua and makes, in my opinion, a far more attractive base for visiting the geo-thermal and many other attractions that Rotorua has to offer. I will not bother reviewing the motel in Rotorua where I stayed a week earlier. It was probably no better and no worse than a hundred others. Podium lodge offered far superior accomodation at a much better price.

Utterly, utterly wonderful...this one year old complex is fantastic. From the amazing staff, the super friendly greeting, fabulous facilities to the beaut room. Everything about the Posium Lodge is perfect for a weekend getaway. We hired bikes and they dropped us at the start of the Te Awa trail, at the end of the day they recharged the bikes ready for the next day exploring. Seriously great place and a credit to the Brian Perry Trust.

Superb summer venue overlooking the picturesque Lake Karipiro. Excellent cafe faire coupled with friendly service makes this out of the way venue well worth the effort to find it. Word of advice, make sure you are heading to the correct 'Podium' as there is another establishment of a similar name located near the town of Cambridge, this being an accommodation facility only, don't confuse the two.
