The motel owner Keith was very warm and welcoming. He made a few suggestions of things to do in the other towns we were visiting and offered us fresh milk to take to our room. The room was spacious, clean, quiet, and comfortable for the one night we stayed.

The Motel looks like a building from the Mediterranean & is well looked after and maintained. Its very quiet as its off the roadside but only about a 5 minute walk into town. We were in room 5 the motel has 8 rooms I think differing in size. Our room had a super king bed and a single, it was so comfortable & the sheets and pillows were also very nice, it is the second-best bed we have ever slept & I've travelled all over the world. It had bedside tables each side and an alarm clock. The ceiling height was about 14feet high (no exaggeration) and so the room felt so expansive and open. The TV was about 45inch with SKY and the WiFi was fast and unlimited. Our room had a table with four chairs so that was nice having somewhere to sit we also had 2 other cozy chairs as well. The kitchen was nice and new with a coffee plunger my only complaint is the size of the fridge is was small only about a 50litre and so we had to utilise our chilly bin for the stuff we couldn't fit in. The room had a good size Air Conditioning unit and the bathroom was a good size with a nice walk in shower with a glass side & great pressure. The motel provided shampoo and body wash both in pump bottles in the shower and both smelt really nice. The owners took our rubbish, changed our towels and replenished soap & tea coffee daily. There are blinds you can roll down for privacy in your room but can still see out and the curtains aren't quite black out but not far from it for those who don't like being blinded by the morning sun like us. We had a little table and two chairs outside our room which is under cover from the weather and it looks over the pool so that was nice. The pool was 6 feet deep and shallow at the other end for the kids and there's a table and 5 chairs in where the pool is so parents can sit there while the kids have a swim. We had a very pleasurable experience here and the owners were very happy and helpful, we would definitely stay here again.

My husband and I stayed here with our teenage son in a 2 bedroom unit for 3 nights. The unit was very clean, spacious and comfortable. Well equipped kitchen, plenty of extra towels in the bathroom and pillows in the bedroom.
Pool was excellent and we enjoyed using it. Tables and chairs outside each unit are nice touch. We enjoyed being in a smaller complex and the location so close to town was great.
We would definitively return and would recommend this motel.

Just stayed for 4 nights nice quiet rooms and tidy. Only complaint is very shocked to find out when we arrived they were very quick at taking payment and charging us extra $80 for a porta cot and high chair. Which was in my view over the top so if you have infants beware that this is a added extra and was not quoted online. And also new owners and haven’t changed it on the website it . It is in a very good location.

This motel is quiet and well positioned near Cambridge town centre. The owners, Keith and Trudi are friendly and helpful, rooms are spacious and clean, beds comfortable. The outdoor pool is an added bonus and very welcome at the end of a hard day's sightseeing!

A very spacious motel perfect for a family. It was well equipped, well heated, clean with plenty of room and lots of spare blankets. The host was lovely and welcoming.
It was very quiet as it is set well back from the road and it's a short walk into town

The host was most pleasant. There was a big WOW when we opened the door; the unit was large, a lot of room and all so spotless. More utensils than most others supply and little extras that make a stay satisfying. Nice and quiet and not far from the city centre for eateries etc. More than happy to revisit or recommend to others. A most pleasant night and 'We will be back'.

This little hotel tucked away is so quiet. There is no traffic noise. The hosts were so polite and obliging. My room was very large and sparkling clean. It is in a great location with an easy walk to Good Union for dinner.
I wouldn’t hesitate to book there again, in fact I had planned to stay one night and then go to Auckland to be closer to the airport but decided to stay an extra night at this hotel and drive straight to the airport on my last day in New Zealand.

Better than expected. Older style motel. We had room 3 which was a two bedroom, very large bedrooms and lounge. Bathroom was also large and updated with new shower. Even though it's old rooms very clean and tidy, no chipped paint or worn carpet etc.
No hesitation in staying again. A short drive into town or 10min walk. Room away from main road so nice and quiet.

Having stayed at the Captain's Quarter previously, my young son and I returned in December 2019 for yet another superb stay. The owners (Trudi and Keith) were lovely; welcoming in all respects and professional with regards to the accommodation that they arranged for me. The experience was perfect for our 9 night stay. I thoroughly recommend this location.

Hi, From memory there is a heater, but no air conditioning. I also don't think there would be much call for air conditioning, it really doesn't get that hot in Cambridge.
