We have just recently stayed at Stella Rocca for 3 nights. It was a lovely stay and we found both pros and cons to the hotel. Pros were firstly the staff. All staff from receptionists, to bar staff to cleaners were all so so welcoming and accommodating. Another pro was how beautiful the hotel was. The view was absolutely breathtaking. As the hotel was in Imerovigli it was a very quiet area which was preferred. While we enjoyed our stay we do however have a few cons. Firstly the room, while it was a stunning view and in a quiet location, the hotel restaurant was directly above our room (the other rooms next to us would have also had the restaurant above). This meant lots of chairs scraping above. It didn’t bother us too much but around busy times it was a lot, including setting up for breakfast (7am) and during the evening (until around midnight). Another con was the breakfast. Breakfast was very limited and not good value for money. There were 3 different types of egg based breakfasts (poached, scrambled and fried - if you don’t like egg good luck), cheese/meat plates, small bread baskets and limited fruits (no cereals, pancakes etc). We think for the price this is very poor. To make the breakfast even worse, often the hotel didn’t have certain things on the menu, i.e. hot chocolate. Finally, ants. We understand that the hotel is on a cliff but the amount of ants in the hotel was a lot. The staff did try and prevent this by emptying bins in rooms a few times a day but there were still lots of ants (in particularly on our first night). We reported this to reception, the cleaner came and all she did was kill the ants with a tissue and left. No spray to prevent anymore ants… Although the hotel is beautiful and staff are lovely, we think value for money this hotel could be a lot better and some improvements are needed.

After having to cancel our Santorini trip twice due to the Covid pandemic, we finally made it to Santorini and Stella Rocca A Mare. We had an amazing stay at this boutique hotel. We had great panoramic views of the caldera and volcano from our room. We were in the Premium Cave with Caldera View & Outdoor Hot Tub, but apparently it doesn't matter where you are on the property, or which room of the 13 you are enjoying, the views are incredible. The location is very central to the village of Imerovigli and within walking distance to the capital of Fira which sparkles against the cliffside for night time viewing. The hotel restaurant, Nero, was a gourmet delight. Although there are numerous fine restaurants in the village, we did eat several meals at Nero because they were very accommodating to a vegetarian diet. We had three dinners there and on each of those nights there was a different vegetarian option from the previous nights. In fact one night there were two options and since it was difficult to decide between them, a sampling of both was provided to me. There is an excellent menu for the omnivores, as well as a nice wine and cocktail list. Breakfast was included each morning and was very good. The hotel is fairly new (about 1 year in operation there), and the staff is very much on top of things and truly provides personalized services. My apologies if I spell one or two of these names incorrectly, but they deserve a shout out. Efthimia at reception welcomed us and was there if we needed anything, especially arranging any transfers to and from the airport, wineries, or the beach. Kostas provided that transportation in the hotel shuttle and was very prompt for the pickup time coming and going. Kostas also took care of the luggage - there are many steps on the cliffside! It would have been difficult to cart our luggage without his assistance. Efi seemed to always be around offering assistance, and in particular was responsible for working with the chef for the vegetarian dinners. Aggelos was also very accommodating and was quite experienced in making great cocktails! Hliana, Stella, and Christina were very attentive working the pool bar and restaurant. We appreciated seeing familiar faces every day. Everyone appeared to know our name and made sure our needs were taken care of. A great stay at a great hotel! We can't thank the staff enough for this terrific Santorini experience.

The hotel has a wonderful panorama. The rooms are very interesting and have a small pool (hot tub for 2 people) with a view of the sea. The place for breakfast is a terrace with a swimming pool that enchanted us with an incredible panorama and in the evening a view of the sunset with an aperitif. The staff is very nice and professional. There is a bus stop 10 minutes from the hotel, from where a bus goes every 30-20 minutes to another beautiful place, Oia, or to the capital. We recently stayed 4 nights in the honeymoon suite (#13) at this fantastic property. To say that the whole experience was sublime is an understatement. The setting is simply stunning and the room very large with a comfortable bed and well appointed. The outdoor hot tub overlooking the caldera made it an unforgettable experience. Plenty of outdoor sitting space too.
The staff was very friendly and helpful especially as they dealt with us (and apparently many others) making the rookie mistake of locking ourselves out of our room on our first day as we’re in the hot tub and the (only) key still in the room!
Kudos also go to those who carried our heavy luggage to and from the airport taxi to the very hilly area where the property is located. (As a side note, this property- and Santorini in general - is not suitable for anyone with any kind of mobility challenge. Lots of hills, narrow steps and uneven terrain everywhere).
The only “nits” I could offer is that the breakfast options are relatively limited especially for anyone who doesn’t like eggs. Also, the room is very dark, particularly in the bathroom/sink area (which is inconveniently located far away from the toilet area) and the nearby shower basically unusable without flooding the area. Fortunately, there is another shower in the indoor hot tub area! The room could also use more hooks for hanging towels and bathing suits.
This is probably the most stunning place we have ever stayed at and hope to go back someday. In the meantime, we highly recommend it to others for an unforgettable experience!

We stayed at this fantastic hotel 2 nights. Located in Imerovigli, it remains in a quiet area, out of the chaos of Fira but convenient to reach it with a 15-minute walk along the caldera. Near the hotel there are bars and restaurants, but definitely worth trying the dishes offered by the kitchen, delicious! Great a la carte breakfast with 5 savory choices + jams and croissants/toast, juice and coffee. The rooms are equipped with hot tubs, some located directly outside the room, others like ours opposite on the other side of the pedestrian walkway (little frequented). Elegant rooms, carved into the rock with shower and bathtub in the cave. In the room on arrival water and bottle of wine, minibar and snacks available. Very kind, helpful staff and the girl at reception will help you organize your days and car/quad rental with the nearby agency. Private transfer service perfect and in line with taxi prices. Definitely to recommend!

This hotel was an absolute dream. We stayed in one of the smaller rooms, and it was still phenomenal, so you are bound to have a great stay no matter which room you choose. Check-in was incredibly smooth. We had an early flight from Athens, so we got in way before check-in, and they stored our bags while we explored. There is also a bathroom right off the pool where we freshened up. We spent a couple of afternoons relaxing at the pool or in our room, and the drinks and snacks from the bar are amazing. The breakfast, though, incredible! Truly some of the best breakfast we had on the trip. It is also in a great location in Imerovigli, very short walking distance to a bus stop, and right by a lot of shops and restaurants. Can't recommend it enough!

We booked a Premium Cave with Caldera View & Outdoor Hot Τub for 1 night. When we arrived they upgraded us to a Executive Honeymoon cave with outdoor hot tub, with a bottle of champagne. The room was very spacious and clean. The outdoor hot tub was accessible from inside the room and it was quite large with spectacular caldera views. The breakfast was served on the terrace next to the main pool which is in a stunning location. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of variety. The highlight of our stay was without a doubt the staff, who went above and beyond to look after us and make our short stay a one to remember. I would highly recommend 100% booking Stella rocca mare.

We enjoyed 7 amazing nights at Stella Rocca Mare. We stayed in one of the Dome rooms (#3) and it was perfect and very private when out on the balcony or in the hot tub. The staff were superb throughout from arranging our transfers, to the warm welcome on arrival. The two Kostas’ in the restaurant/bar were brilliant and so friendly. The view of the Caldera was incredible and Imerovigli was a great location, just a 5-10 mins walk down to Fira and some great restaurants. Cannot recommend this hotel highly enough.

If you're looking for the best view of the Caldera, I would highly suggest staying in the Imerovigli area in the Stella Rocca A Mare Hotel. The hotel on its own is a small boutique kind of property, but that results in great attentiveness and top-notch service. The people managing this place, right from the person who helped with the luggage to the manager to the bartender, all were polite, pleasant and extremely welcoming. The rooms are cozy and unique - cave-like rooms with a personal plunge pool facing the Caldera. It cannot get better. The minibar was well stocked, the bathroom amenities were excellent and the breakfast was pretty tasty as well. I would highly recommend this hotel and I cannot wait to be back.
