We visited the place in February. We were a family with 2 teenagers, and were super happy with the place. The rooms were incredibly beautiful and cozy and the hostel was located in the middle of nature with the rainforest and lots of birds and wildlife close by. There was a lovely pool and billiards and ping pong tables there too. Perfect for those who want to cook for themselves. The host and his daughters did everything they could to make sure we had a good stay. Highly recommend this place. The place was also just a few hundred meters away from Playa Uvita which has endless long beaches.

Cool Waters Jungle Villas was my favourite place to stay in Costa Rica. Nestled in the jungle and close (about 1 km) to the ocean, it showcased the two reasons I wanted to visit Costa Rica. Containing a number of different room styles, from tenting, to an old refurbished school bus, to jungle bungalows, to nice hotel rooms next to a swimming pool there is a suitable type of accommodation for everyone. We stayed in one of the bungalows. Set back among the trees and vegetation, it felt as if we were staying in a quiet part of the jungle. Because the business is situated on a large piece of land, there is room for both the commercial buildings and the jungle as well. There were monkeys in the trees, and the sound of the howlers was clear at night. However, the highlight of our stay was the hospitality of the owner and his family. They were superb. Dave, the owner, and his family operate the resort. They work well together and go out of their way to make guests happy. By the time we left,we couldn't say enough good things about them and considered them friends.

One of my favourite places I've ever stayed. Dave and his family were fantastic and extremely helpful and speak English and Spanish fluently).
From Villas set back in the jungle to air conditioned units near the salt water pool to tents, most any traveller will find something to their taste.
It's easy walking distance to a glorious beach right on the edge of Manuel Antonio park, and we hiked a couple km up a creek/small river bed that runs right through the villas. Wildlife, including monkeys, abounds.
Only 1km from Uvita and a plethora of good restaurant options.
We will certainly be back.

I went in July of 2023. Dave the owner told me that I was the 1st American to stay at his new bungalows business with pool. We talked about back home, although I'm from the Midwest, and he's from another part of the U.S. He was the nicest guy. I went with an ex gf who is from there and her son. The place was spectacular because it was not far from the ocean. We spent 2 days there. I would love to go again next year. Dave was very hospitable and attentive. Thanks Dave, hope to visit soon one day. Sincerely, Juan

We had an awesome time at Cool Waters Jungle Villas. Family run villas operated by David and his family. They made us feel like we were family. Everything was nice and clean, felt very safe here. Large pool and paddling pools for all ages. Would stay there again on our next trip back to Uvita, Costa Rica.
