Dani is SUPER nice, super attentive, she was always there when we needed help. When we had activities very early in the morning, she would make us a takeaway breakfast.
Really nothing to say, the hotel is clean and welcoming, the swimming pool is great and let's not even talk about Loto who is the cutest dog we met in Costa Rica!
I recommend x1000

Everything was awesome.
Clean facilities, lovely pool, super helpful host, great location from the town and the beach, powerful aircon, hot showers. Just excellent.
We extended our stay twice.
Super comfortable mattress and pillows, not too soft, not too firm.
Also the restaurant next to the hotel was exceptional. If you want to completely unwind and just stop and take a breath for a minute, this is the place. Thank you Axel.

I was at the fabulous Luzdeluna about a month ago, I visited with my family and we had a great time. Very comfortable rooms and beds, everything clean and cozy. The pool is great but the best thing without a doubt is the person in charge of the place Daniela Mora. He welcomed us wonderfully and guided us very well during our stay in Uvita. He knows the best places and keeps everything in the hotel very well taken care of, but above all his friendly customer service stands out, it is worth mentioning that his French is impeccable. She and Loto her dog were wonderful hosts and we hope to return soon. Pure Life!

Lovely, super clean rooms with a nice little pool and seating area.
The owner, Felipe, is a great guy. Knowledgeable, friendly and sociable.
The restaurant is superb too. I would urge anyone to try the pescado con mariscos, it’s the best meal I’ve had in CR. The only downside was that I only discovered this dish on my last night!!!
All in all, a great place.

I loved every moment of my time here! Patricia and Felipe are wonderful and welcoming people. There is a Spanish school and waterfall within walking distance that was amazing too. The rooms are comfortable, there is a pool, aircon, and a fabulous restaurant. I daydream of returning to this magical place! Thank you!

Uvita and the area around it are far less touristy than many areas; that means a little more rugged than one may expect, but that is the charm.
The best part?: Luz De Luna: clean rooms (but not big), AC works just fine, sizable bathrooms, reliable wifi. The pool is a nice touch. They give good advice on what activities to do, the staff are locals and very trustworthy.
GREAT restaurant right on the property: open-air, great atmosphere, fresh ingredients and the pizza really is good!
The best part of the hotel experience?: the staff and especially the owners Felipe and Patrice. Friendly, "real" and welcoming, easy to talk with and laid back yet on-the-job in all they do. We now consider Felipe and Patrice our friends.
Walk to the beach? Take the route that leads through the small village of Bahai, its a little quicker and has a couple bodegas to grab a drink along the way. We spotted 2 Scarlet Macaws on the walk, amazing.
We try to never go to the same place twice, but we are for sure returning to costa rica, and will make the center of our trip a stay at this hotel.
Uvita Beach: gorgeous. A National Park so few services, no cabanas or drink vendors, but well-policed and bath-tub warm water, $6 US a day to gain entry. Heed their advice to not leave packs un-attended, there are thieves waiting in the jungle to snatch your bag if you set it under a palm tree and run down to the surf. We had a bag snatched that way. Unbelievably, the local police actually took the time to search the trails and found most of our stuff strewn about!
Jungle-mountains nearby have great nature walk tours and many hidden waterfalls.
Luz De Luna made our trip work.

When we checked in we had 3 separate rooms and each one smelled horrible of mildew. The air conditioning helped to vent some of it out but 2 of the 3 rooms never really cleared. The rooms are nicely appointed but one of the doors didn't lock and there were no safes in the rooms. We felt safe enough because its pretty isolated. They claim its 1 kilometer to the beach but I'm pretty sure it's closer to 1 mile+. Not very convenient for going to the beach easily and quickly. Beware, the beach is beautiful but it is a national park so you have to pay $6 to enter unless its after 4pm and if it is high tide, there is not much beach to be on. The owners and staff of Luz de Luna are very nice and friendly and the restaurant was fantastic. Lovely balconies on the second floor and a cute and fun pool. I would stay someplace else if I return though.

We booked last minute and showed up at around 10pm in a dark street. The hotel has no sign because the city keeps taking them down, as was explained to us, so we weren't sure we were at the right place. The owner, Felipe came out to see what was going on and gave us a room immediately, telling us we could deal with checking in sometime the next day at our convenience, no questions asked. The next day he put an umbrella by our door because he realized we didn't have one. The day we left, I told him our transportation situation changed, so he went out of his way to call around and help me figure it out. He sat and talked with us over coffee at his restaurant and gifted us with a bag of Costa Rican coffee as a parting gift. The hotel was clean, quaint, and accessible to everything.
It was not a resort, it was a motel. But I wouldn't stay anywhere else because of the hospitality we received. Not to mention, the food was really good. When I come back this is where I'm staying.

This was our seventh trip to Costa Rica and have seen most of the country. I should have known something was up when the women checking us in handed me a note with the owners phone number.Thank god we had a tico phone because I had to text him on multiple accasions. Our room was never cleaned, (we really just needed fresh towels) and no one is ever at the front desk its always locked! It appears no one really works here. Wifi goes out constantly, And our Ac barely worked.the pool was very nice. But the best thing about this place is the restaurant. the food is great and the girls that work there are the best!Next time we're in Uvita we will stay somewhere else.
