Tucked away in a serene natural setting, Oxygen Jungle Villas & Spa is celebrated for its tranquil atmosphere and breathtaking pool area, offering guests a chance to disconnect and unwind. While the hotel's amenities receive accolades for their beauty, some guests suggest a greater variety for breakfast and more spa availability.
Although the cost of food and transportation may affect perceptions of value, the attentive service and exceptional food often compensate. The high level of cleanliness and the well-designed, comfortable rooms with stunning views earn high marks, despite the absence of TVs.

Where do I begin the service was AMAZING. Mauricio was our driver from the airport he was so patient as my flight was delayed he also stopped on the way for us to grab food. We were greeted by Henry who had amazing service it was super rainy and he provided us with umbrellas upon arrival and had our bags delivered directly to our room. Anything you may need they make it happen at Oxygen i even had local food i wanted and Isaac assisted in my ordering and it was delivered to my room. Anytime i needed fresh towel they came very fast we communicated through whats app via the reception desk.
Luis and Lady kept the food orders very accurate and the drinks were perfect. I can’t wait to come back next year!
Thank you for an amazing rain forest experience Oxygen!

The place is lovely, with a gorgeous garden, pool and a beautiful view. However, this view comes with a price in transport. That is the only reason that I am not giving the place a full five stars which they would amply deserve for service, food and general beauty of the place. The road from town to the hotel is short (less than two miles) but partly through a road that needs a 4x4 vehicle. This service is provided by the hotel at 22 dollars, one way to town, and another 22 dollars on the way back. All sea activities require you to go to town, so suddenly you have added 44 dollars to your day in Oxygen. ANd really, 22 dollars for about two miles? Not only that; they charged all taxes and service (tip) on top of it. Their argument is that that is the market value in town; yet, they should not join in the tourist predation. They could offer the service cheaper and put it in the room price.

A stunning place! The bar/restaurant and pool area are truly breathtaking and have been done to a very high standard. The staff were all fantastic and the food was generally good. There is lots to explore locally including the free waterfalls you can access from the hotel, a bigger waterfall further down the hill which id definitely recommend and Marino Ballena National park. The only reasons why I haven’t rated this 5 stars is I think the food is very expensive for Costa Rica (and was not the best food we had on our trip - dinner for two was $100 for a shared starter and dessert and a main each, no drinks) and the breakfast is lacking. For the price and calibre of the hotel, you’d expect a continental buffet or something alongside the one breakfast option you get to pick. On our first morning we ordered a smoothie bowl and paid for this in addition as we would have still been hungry otherwise. We noticed other people ordering and paying for additional fruit etc. which I don’t think is right for the price point of this place. I would avoid villa 1, we had a sewage smell (which they did look into) and it’s very close to the pool/staff area. We could hear them early which didn’t bother us as we were up early anyway but if you want to lay in, I’d request a different villa.

The stay at Oxygen was fantastic. Make sure to rent an suv or good ground clearance vehicle to get up the last mile or so of road, but the view and rooms are well worth the small unpaved road. The view from the pool deck is one of a kind and really breath taking. The whole Oxygen team, Beatriz, Aaron, and everyone were fantastic. They all helped us book some fantastic excursions and have great suggestions for restaurants and hangouts near by. The food at Oxygen was fantastic as well. The included breakfast was well beyond expectations and the crew even offered to have burritos ready for us when we had excursions before the kitchen was open. I would highly recommend this location book with confidence.

This is a very beautiful and private stay that really allows you to disconnect and enjoy time with your partner in nature. The bar staff was always amazingly attentive and friendly and the food was some of the best we’ve had in a while (especially when considering it’s at a hotel).
My issue is with the semi false advertising about the spa villas. I booked on their website a “jungle spa villa” option that’s more expensive. It explicitly states “Spa treatments are created specifically for these villas from bath balms to scrubs” and shows pictures of bath tubs with flowers and beautiful bath setups.
We never received anything close to this. With only a shower gel, two sticks of incense and unlabeled bottle waiting on a small table next to the tub. When I asked the front desk about it I was told that there’s always confusion because it only means you get a bathtub in your villa and nothing else. Ours was also at the very edge of the villa not in the center like all the photos lead you to believe.
Obviously not the biggest deal, but I don’t appreciate the false advertisement.
I would also make note of the spa times. Check in at 3pm, but the spa closes at 4 so you wouldn’t be able to visit on your first night. I was told the last booking time is at 3 so if you do any excursion in Uvita out in the ocean (they pretty much all come back at around 2:30 or later) you also wouldn’t be able to make an appointment. Just something to keep in mind, you would need minimum a 3 night stay to be able to visit their spa if you go snorkeling/diving/surfing. Only mention as we were pretty disappointed to hear this upon arrival.

Really enjoyed our stay here. The staff was friendly and helpful— Aron at the front desk took great care of us, as well as Marco, Omar, Hazel, and Valerie in the restaurant. The rooms were unique and so well done with great beds and sheets, plenty of room and a little garden to sit in in front—saw so many birds. Housekeeping also was on top of it—we felt pretty special there. We got a couples massage at the spa (Rosie and Lady were terrific) and listening to the falls nearby in the middle of the jungle was pretty great. Food and drinks were very good as well—the pool is gorgeous! Relaxation in nature— doesn’t get better than that. The hotel seems very well run and we really enjoyed our stay!

We stayed here for my partners 40th birthday, which also coincided with NYE. The staff (Luis, Jason, Raquel, Boromdir, plus many others who I have unfortunately forgotten their names) were extremely helpful and attentive. Being such a small hotel means you get that better level of service. We paid for the all inclusive package which was worth it as you cannot walk to other restaurants and taxis would take some time up and down the rickety track on the hill. We did different activities every single day which were very well organised by the hotel reception team, including early breakfasts to take with us. All the tours we did were also amazing with people in general in Costa Rica seemingly very welcoming and helpful - would particularly recommend doing the night tour from the hotel on the trails that run by the hotel - the guides are very knowledgable and you will see the wildlife of the country in its natural habitat.
Food at the hotel was very good, even though we ate at the hotel every day we didn’t choose the same food twice as there are plenty of very tasty options. The area the hotel is located in (Uvita) is a relatively small place but there are plenty of tours (and cafes, restaurants) about to keep you busy, yet the area doesn’t feel really touristy - which other people who we met who had been to other areas of Costa Rica said was the case, to the point where they had left early from that area to get to Uvita earlier.
Overall I would highly recommend this hotel and would definitely like to return to in the future.

We stayed 4 nights at Oxygen in one of the ocean view villas. Although a bit more pricey, it was hands down one of the nicest and most unique places we have ever stayed, so it was totally worth it. Waking up to the sunshine, views of the ocean and jungle is something that I will always remember. My husband and I loved that although you feel like your submerged in nature and solace, the villas still offer all the modern amenities to make a stay more enjoyable. The beds/pillows were super comfy and the cleaning staff does a great job cleaning up multiple times throughout day as it’s easy to drag in a lot of mud and what not. Beyond the villas, the pool area, bar and restaurant area were also gorgeous and perfect for relaxing. The best part about the pool and location is that the sun will not hit the area the entire day so it’s not like you’re baking outside like you would be at a beach location in Costa Rica. This made it super enjoyable because we could sit by the pool all day and relax. The spa/massage was also spectacular and reasonable pricing. The food is fantastic but do be aware that it’s smaller portions for dinner at least, so for my husband who is 6’6” and eats a lot, that meant we did eat offsite at times just due to him being more hungry. The road to the hotel is def rugged, we are from Colorado and this road is very similar to getting to a hiking trailhead, so make sure car is 4x4. Our first rental was not and we got stuck going up the hill. Last but not least, the staff of Oxygen was amazing. They were beyond helpful and so attentive to our needs…shout-out to Luis and Gayvin, they were so amazing!!! They are some of the best bartenders/mixologists ever, the cocktails and margs were incredible. Highly recommend Oxygen to any couple wanting a relaxing and unique stay.

Don’t really know where to start but for sure not from the bad things as they were none!! We stayed in this magnificent boutique hotel at the very end of our 2 week trip to Costa Rica and couldn’t have been any better, this was the best place out of all the hotels (6 in totals) we stayed. To get there from Uvita you have a 2km bumpy road up the hills but once you are there it is paradise. The villas are in the middle of the jungle but some have a superbe ocean view. Villas are all made of windows 180 degrees giving you the feeling to be in the middle of nature with plenty of lights as well. Got lucky to have spotted toucans and other types of birds and plenty of butterflies. They have a trail you can take that will lead you to a couple of waterfalls that are absolutely beautiful! It’s actually there that they also have located their spa, where we had a massage with the sound of the waterfall…quite unique experience! The hotel has a splendid infinite pool, and usually quiet as the hotel is small and exclusive, the breakfast is excellent just as the food served at lunch and dinner and we have really appreciated that their prices were really reasonable compared with other same type of hotel elsewhere which made us stay there without the need to go to other places! What makes this place absolutely amazing it is its service and the people working there. Aaron and Borman at front desk were really helpful and really nice even for casual chats or whenever you need something. Other people I can mention are all the staff serving us food and drinks like Omar, Luis, etc which have made our stay from really good to perfect! Some of the best things we enjoy: their welcome drink spicy jungle, the tacos, the pineapple jam, the tuna (in salad or burger), the tres leches, or the home bread they make. Even liked the soap (shower gel) and bought some! If we come back to Costa Rica we will be back for sure, I highly recommend this hotel!!

We had a great time at Oxygen. From the moment we arrived, the team took great care of us. Our room overlooked the ocean. The room is all glass which allows you to be close to nature. Whether for breakfast or dinner, the meals are delicious and very filling. The establishment does not even take advantage of their somewhat remote location to charge high prices. The value for money of the dishes is excellent. A special thank you to the lady at reception (sorry I forgot her first name) who managed perfectly a small problem with our room. There is also a waterfall a few minutes away. We recommend this establishment.

Activity prices vary depending on the activity. You do have to pay for your transportation for all of the activities on top of the activity. We took a taxi approx 10 mins from the hotel to a brewery in town and it was about $15.
Hi there. The prices are typical mid- to upscale restaurant prices for the USA. I’ll try to post a copy of some of the menu. The food is very good and definitely worth the prices. Breakfast is usually included, which is huge and amazing. They will also pack to go breakfasts for days you have early tours. Or bring food to your villa. All at no extra charge. They are very accommodating. Someone else posted they had trouble picking vegetarian items but that was never our experience. They have plenty of choices and were always willing to make adjustments.
Hi, we have had at very few people use this airport for arrival because the drive can take between 6 to 8 hours from there to Oxygen. The most commonly used airport is SJO which is closer.
