We went to the largely unspoilt Broadstairs for a long weekend and stayed in the Royal Albion Hotel and so glad we did! What a gem - the room was immaculate and so warm and the breakfast is just amazing - big portions of quality produce. The staff are so friendly and welcoming even when it is clear they are very busy. This place has a lovely vibe about it and we will definitely be booking again.

Had a most wonderful stay at the Albion. The staff were brilliant! The sea view rooms are amazing. We shall be going back ! Lovely hotel. The only disappointment was I ordered pancakes and they were hard and not nice. I don’t think they were homemade but from a packet . But still a wonderful hotel !

We only stayed one night but the staff were amazing so kind. Rooms very clean superb view from room and outside terrace. Only downside being no lift if anyone suffers mobility issues. Other than that can highly recommend.

We don’t imagine the Isle of Thanet appears on too many bucket lists and, for most of it, can understand why. Broadstairs is an exception – a delightful, unspoiled Victorian town which has not declined in the way of many of Britain’s seaside towns. On the contrary, it’s completely unspoiled, commercially and architecturally, and well worth a visit. The place to stay is the Royal Albion Hotel – an archetypal English seafront hotel in a superb location overlooking Viking Bay and out into the North Sea. Apart from the location and the views, the hotel is not particularly spectacular – it’s well-worn and a bit dated but spotlessly clean and well-run, with friendly and competent staff. Another plus point is the abundance of outside seating for eating, drinking and enjoying the astonishing views. By today’s standards, room rates are reasonable and if you set off along the promenade and further along the cliff walk to Dumpton Gap, you can descend to sea level to return. It’s a glorious walk – worth every minute, as is time well spent exploring Broadstairs – and now you know where to stay.

Finally got here after 2 cancellations due to covid. We were in room 15 which is a sea view feature room. It was clean and had a coffee machine, kettle etc. Great views of the sea especially with the sunny weather. Check in was online and easy. Parked in Albion street car park, £12.50 for 24 hours. We drank in the terrace area and it was perfect. All staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good, well cooked and plenty of it. Wifi was non existent but not overly fussed about that. Will definitely return. We ate in Sardinia over the road which was excellent.
