Breakfast was relaxed buffet style. I always had bacon and scrambled eggs which were fine but maybe some homemade cakes and brioches would have been an improvement and perhaps another coffee/drinks machine to avoid waiting.
The restaurant has a delightful location with views over the cliffs and the sun setting into the sea. We opted for half-board so the choice was a little limited and my wife had pizza 3 times in a week because the menu was not really 4 star standard. Perhaps a better choice of desserts would be an improvement but so far there was no in-house pastry chef. This would be a great improvement if possible. Waiting time was not long and we are planning to return later this year. Hello to the attentive waiting staff including the terrible twins Marco and Paolo.
The natural surroundings around the hotel, the peninsula and the rocky cliffs are like from a movie story. The location also has an artistic past and you can feel it here. The sea below the hotel is clean and azure blue.
The hotel has a different quality of rooms and also the view is different, the sea or the parking lot and the restaurant. Selected hotel rooms have a small front garden seating area.
The area of the hotel with a swimming pool is pleasantly arranged and offers a place for meetings, sittings and also peaceful solitude. From the hotel it is possible to descend to the sea between the rocks. The nearby area offers swimming with a rocky shore or a sandy beach 15 minutes away.
The hotel has its own car park on site.
It is possible to rent two slightly used bicycles, which I tested, free of charge. The area is not suitable for recreational cycling, it has climbs and fewer plains, all the roads in the area are narrower and for cars. The area is without bike paths.
The cleanliness of the hotel and the cleaning of the rooms was very good. Adherence to health regulations and hygiene was standard in the restaurant and at the reception.
The restaurant, which is part of the hotel had a good breakfast, quality Italian food for lunch and dinner. Meat dishes and non-Italian food were significantly less successful.
The trip from Olbia to the hotel is on a winding road but once there it was an amazing location.
The hotel is clean with great landscaping and the staff is very friendly (special thanks to Giancarlo)
The beach is located at about 15 minutes walk from the hotel and it is beautiful part sandy and part pebbly beach with picturesque views. The pool at the hotel is a salt water pool which is nice and big.
There is also a functional gym with a beautiful view.
The hotel has a very good restaurant and we practically had our breakfast and dinner everyday.
The breakfast may be a bit monotonous but we liked the fresh fruits to choose from. A car is a must to visit other beaches and or cities.
The surroundings are beautiful, one of the most spectaculare area in the island. We received a huge room with terracce including seaview. Bathroom was also quite big. However I booked a standard room as the hotel was not full we were upgraded, I can really apperciate this nice gesture!
The whole hotel and the room was absolutly clean and nice furnished. The garden with its own walking trails, with steps to the rocks, a big pool, sunbeds all around to have a rest with beautifuls views.
Staff was so kind, including the waiter who suggested us grilled calamari at dinner, that was made perfectly. We walked along the coast in the sunset. Really enjoyed each minute of our stay, everything was perfect. This is an absolutly relaxing place. There is no question we will return for a longer stay!
at 19.30 we go to the restaurant to have dinner (we had half Pension) but we are told that dinner will not be there because of the problem "current"..!!
On August 15 tired dead we went out to look for a restaurant that had a table for dinner and we found it 40 minutes and drive!..Bad experience ..
In the following days we reached an agreement with the manager who obviously understood the situation.
The hotel and 'very nice and has great potential but little valued .. and I would recommend more care to the customer!
First of all we talk about the staff who were of exceptional delicacy and availability at all levels, from reception, to management (a special greeting to Maria, Nicole to Claudia and Alessandro) to the waiting staff and the cleaning ladies; congratulations to all for your expertise, professionalism and availability.
Now, however, we come to some observations about the structure of the hotel that should and could improve since we are talking about a 4-star hotel.
1 – we were amazed that in such a place, being out of service an elevator for all 15 days of our stay, there was no way to reach the dining room except by walking stairs and steps (among other things uncovered) or accessing it only from the public road outside the structure.
2 – on the hotel site it is written that Li Cossi beach (among other things the only one in the sand area) is about 700 meters from the hotel; true, shame that these 700 meters consist of a path that the Tobacco hiking maps would define without hesitation EE (for experienced hikers). Here too there are countless granite steps, quite inaccessible passages and above all uncovered in terms of protections: if you slip you end up directly on the rocks and in the sea after a good flight. By the way my in-laws who are quite old could not obviously access it and there is no other way or road to get to the beach.
3 – the food was really good and also plentiful (very good breakfast); only shame that in 15 days we did not eat a single Sardinian dish; it is not said to make the piglet, which involves a big job of preparation, but at least a plate of malloreddus with meat sauce would have been really appreciated.
4 – given the constant presence of wild boars that roam the streets and even the paths inside the hotel, it would be appropriate to put warning signs; agree that they would seem almost domestic but who does not know and if you find them in front of the first time, perhaps at night and on the path leading to the rooms, you can take a good scare, as well as react inappropriately with the beasts and then yes that would be trouble, because a wild boar is always a wild boar, especially if it has, as seen, the young in tow.
5 – lastly, again referring to the category of the hotel, it would seem appropriate that a shuttle service should be established (also for a fee, it is not claimed free) that connects the structure to the various existing “beaches” in the surroundings – always at significant distances – as well as to the “country” up high where there are the supermarket and various shops.
It was still a nice stay for those who love wild Sardinia, despite the mistral that blew for 10 days and that had not happened for years, as the locals told us
Patrizia and Maurizio
We booked breakfast, but we also ate dinner here most evenings. The food was fresh and delicious, and they served gluten free pasta. My wife is coeliac.
Staff were all lovely, helpful and friendly. Room, pool, restaurant etc. were spotless. WiFi excellent.
And then, the views... stunning. Parts of Sardinia have a slight litter problem, but not here. The scenery is breath-taking, with tiny beaches dotted around. You need a certain level of fitness to reach some of them. There is a beautiful beach about 15 minutes walk along the coast below the hotel, and beyond that there is a path that takes you up the hill and you can walk for miles.
We came across a few wild pig families. They came down to the village and even the hotel, and as long as we didn't go near the young, the mama didn't take any notice of us.
We realise we're fortunate being there off-season, as we felt that it could become very busy during the high season, and the kitchen staff could then be under pressure. A number of other reviews mention queues for coffee at breakfast, and that doesn't surprise me, as there is just one coffee machine, but for us, everything was perfect apart from the fact that our week away had to come to an end.
