This was our second time at this hotel and we are booked again for this September 2024. We really like it. Some of the staff recognised us from a couple of years before. Both times we arived at night, the night porter checked us in, he was proffesional and gave us directions to rooms, we did not feel anything else was required. The rooms are good, sure the odd bug but its Greece, your going to get that because of the climate. Rooms are clean and the domestic staff who do this are freindly and work hard. Speaking of which the barman who also works in the dining room works extremely hard as do all the other staff from observation and expereince. The food is decent and whilst the menu does not vary hugely it is good quality and normal for any all inclusive holiday. Regarding the watered down drinks thing. You can definitly tell when spirits are watered down and I have had it with 2 or 3 drinks there only in two trips. I am not concerned about it, whatever happened it was 2- 3 drinks out of all the others lol that were definitly not and i have spent a total of four weeks there over two trips. perhaps a bad supplier batch? i have had it in tenerife too many times, its just something that happens occasionally, it is not some endemic problem at this hotel. Clientel is a mix, German perhaps 60 per cent, hard to quantify, both trips there was plenty of British people. It attracts a few families but more couples and they tend to be mature individuals upper twenties, thirties and upwards. I found everyone to be polite and know how to behave, the hotel does not attract loud teens/twenties etc which is fine with us.I have never felt out of place? Germans love Greece too! Bus services good to Rhodes town, Faliraki not so great, i'd reccomend taxis as bus seervices can be erratic. I encountered a family of Germans being picked up in a small village where the scheduled bus service had clearly not come and theyd been in the sun a bit long, so for rural Rhodes always be aware of this. Returning from Lindos can be busy at end of day, I'd try and prebook a taxi rather than rely on buses from Lindos late afternoon. As i said we are returning to this same hotel for our 3rd visit on Sept15th/ 16th 2024, cant wait, we love it and have good memories there in a lovely peaceful hotel that suits us both down to the ground, ( we are late 40s) and apprecate the quiet and relaxed atmosphere. it is a well run , family run hotel that they take pride in. We return because its excellent and welcoming. Kolymbia is nice and safe for a walk in the evening, we enjoy that though its quite spread out and is a decent enough walk to the high street/central business/shopping district 20-25 mins. Local shops closer by where you can get anything you need including a pharmacy. Going first time, its always a bit of pot luck reading reviews, you get good and bad depending on individual expectations. But as a now regular here i would completely reccomend it, thats why we return!

For the price I paid the hotel was ok, obviously it’s not a 5* hotel so I wasn’t expecting much especially after reading the reviews I was prepared for worst but the hotel is actually Ok. The Location is good for exploring other parts of island and the bus stop is literally one minute away from the hotel which is a plus. I liked the swimming pool area. The rooms are spacious and clean. The design of the rooms is ok. The worst part I think was the food - very small choice and the fruits were not fresh cut. Overall decent hotel for small price :)

Hotel and the rooms are spotless, cleaned everyday. There is a lot of olive trees around the hotel, which makes great shade during warm days. Two pools are also clean and of them is pretty deep so swimming is available. Despite the numerous guests, you never feel crowds. Drinks are the simpler, the better. A huge strength is definetely staff. Waitresses, bartenders, maids are very pleasant people. Receptionists were always helpful, kind and speak multiple languages. Hotel is a little bit far from the beach or city center, but there is a bus station really close to the hotel, from where you can easily get to the most important places. The nicest part was a Greek evening with a great local band that was trying to make all of the guest satisfied and show local dances. The only weakness is food. After a week without significant changes it became really monotonous, however it was for sure safe and fresh. A huge choice of vegatables, fruits and desserts never leave you hungry. It was a great and pleasant stay, we will consider coming back there one day.

Don’t believe the 4* Rating. Even by the somewhat generous European standards, that rating is a bit of a stretch. We had 2 rooms with our 3 children. Both rooms were infested with ants. The air conditioning was exceptionally ineffective. It was like being stood next to and breathed on by an asthmatic person that had just eating a wrigleys menthol chewing gum. I actually found the firm bed comfortable, the wife had back ache. Shower & bathroom were good, if poorly ventilated. The reception & cleaning staff were great, the restaurant & bar staff couldn’t have cracked a smile of their life depended on it. There is no animation, so children or anyone under the age of 75 will get bored, provided you stay longer than 24 hours. This is a hotel that mainly caters to Eastern European & German guests so the mood is somber & a bit miserable. But the worst thing about our stay was the lunch & evening meals. It is remarkably bad.

I don’t write reviews but i saw all the prefious ones believing people only come here to complain but this is an honest opinion. exceptionally clean and maids brilliant. watered down alcohol but friendly bar staff. Food was awful. One line for hot food with options of pasta or either pork, chicken or fish. One tray no English signs to say exactly what it was. Chips for children. Salad table in the middle of the dining room. Slowest toaster in the world. Nice fresh bread though. Pool area has limited umbrellas for shade. Trees available if you wish to not hear your own thoughts over the crickets. General rooms run down but kept pristine. No insects seen but heard from others they had ants. Not many English here but i did not feel they hated us. No flag flying. Because of the food we spent most nights and lunches at the star bar which is a short walk. Cocktails, well priced traditional food, burgers, pasta and even crepes! Would recommend eating there over the restaurant. Also worth noting it’s a €25 taxi to falaraki. €50 to local airport €45 to Rhodes old town which is a must see. Hope this helped :)

The Marianna Palance has an air of faded glory. It must have been lovely in its heyday but needs repairs and an overhaul - and so does the food - before it reaches 3* status. Interesting shops opposite the hotel and an excellent restuarant called the Star about 10 minutes walk away. ATMs close by. The beach is about 15 minutes walk where sun beds are 6.00 each if there are any available. The beach itself is pebbly but the water is delicious and clear. At the hotel A deposit is charged for towels for the pool for the week The room safe is charged at £20. Air conditioner is £3 per night Wifi is charged but I never used it Pros: Rooms are clean and cleaned every day Staff are cheerful and helpful and work very hard Beds are firm and comfortable Own balcony Wonderful pool and a smaller toddler pool Showers are superb and a pleasure after a hot day under the sun Oranges, kiwi fruit and watermelon (which are tasty) are cut up for each meal More adult relaxation orientated Cons: The food is repetitive with limited options and I suspect is not always cooked from scratch but from packets. Spag bol features every night among other dishes. There is free booze from 11am but only certain ones all from the same brand and no brandy, dark rum or bubbly wine. More sunbeds are needed as guests put their towels down very early then go off for most of the day. Snacks needed to be available during the day not just at prescibed meal times. 2-2.5* rating until they sort out the food. The staff are amazing and so helpful and they works so very hard.

This hotel is over rated, its no more than a 3 star, I would class it as full board with the bonus (or not) of local drinks from 11am. There are no snacks available during the day, there is cake only in the afternoon. The food is very much the same every day and not the best, and never overly hot. The rooms are pretty dated and some repairs need to be carried out, the air con is charged and not free, as is WiFi and beach towels. On a positive note the room was clean, the bed was comfy and the shower was powerful. On the whole the staff were friendly but overworked. Definitely not a family friendly hotel, there's nothing much there for them to do so wouldn't recommend, no kids clubs, no ice cream other than when restaurant is open and no evening entertainment for kids or adults except for Wednesday night, Greek music and dancing which was good. Definitely won't be going there again or recommending it to my family or friends.

This place is absolutely horrendous. Firstly, I have never felt so uncomfortable in my life, we as English people are not welcome here, they even have flags displaying different countries outside but there is no English flag. We were greeted so rudely when we arrived and wasn’t even shown to our room just told “go up the stairs and it’s on your left”. When entering the room, the room was clean (or so we thought) on second observation there were bugs on the floors and in the beds. The balcony door did not shut properly and the air conditioning wasn’t working. When it was dinner time we went down to have a look and all I can say is that it was absolutely vile, there was barely any selections and they do not serve any English foods. The food is practically the same every lunch and dinner. Even the name cards weren’t in English but they were in Greek, German etc. The food is just completely inedible and they were even serving rabbit instead of chicken etc. DO NOT EAT HERE. When it came to order at the pool bar for a drink, the bartender was very rude and would always avoid serving us because we was English. There was constantly the same music playing everyday and when you ask to change the music you get the response of “no English music”. Drinks were very basic and had cheap alcohol and cheap mixers, not even real coke. No entertainment at all so was bored every day and night. Also, in the rooms there was no complimentary waters or anything for the mini fridge we was told we had to buy ourselves from the shop in the hotel. The hotel is based in the middle of no where and is really hard to get around especially in the heat. We ended up spending so much money outside of the hotel as wasn’t eating properly or drinking properly which isn’t ideal. Honestly, I’ve never been so appalled by a hotel before, we have travelled to Rhodes 3 times in the space of 1 year and this is by far the worst experience I’ve ever had. This hotel is meant to be 4* but I wouldn’t even give it a 1*, it should be shut down, it’s disgraceful.

Contrary to many of the reviews regarding The Marianna Palace hotel, our stay was as pleasant as any other independent all inclusive resort. The rooms were sufficient and clean, the pool was lovely and clean. The hotel's staff were exceptional. No crazy chase for beds of a morning as there are plenty to go around. Grass surrounds the pool with mature trees offering plenty of shade for those non sun seekers. Lack of entertainment of an evening is really the only drawer back. But all the same, the outside bar caters for all. Food is a touch repetitive but again, it's what it is considering the price paid. Only a 20 minutes walk from Kolymbia town centre where there are plenty of bars and eateries. Overall, a pleasant two weeks spent here with no complaints. For those on a budget all inclusive trip, then this is the place to go. A good couple of weeks...Thank you

I was in this hotel in June. it's a great place as a base to get to know the island. It is quiet, the rooms are clean, no animation. The food is tasty although the choice is not great. The neighborhood is attractive - I recommend renting a car and seeing Lindos, Butterfly Valley, waterfalls and Tsambika beach
