We found that it is no more than a 3* Hotel, during our July 2019 stay.

We had a Superior room which was ok, it was in the new block above the swim up rooms, right across from the outdoor Pizza shack.

One of the main problems with this hotel is the food, at best it was luke warm, sometimes cold, it all looked very nice, but wasn't great to eat.

Some of our party went upstairs to the fast food place and brought down hot chips, with burgers or kebabs to the main restaurant !

I did complain to the Head Chef and Restaurant Manager, but nothing was done, just kept doing the same.

I asked if they had enough water in the food heaters below, but didn't get an answer for that either, the plates aren't warm and with only luke warm, so any heat went straight into the plate leaving you with cold food !

Not our idea of a 4* hotel, as it is only too easy to end up with a stomach upset.

The main pool area never seemed to have enough sunbeds, but we did go over the main 6 week holiday period for the UK.

No sunbeds in the quieter grass area to get away from it if you wanted to.

People from the swim up rooms were coming down most days to play in the main pool.

The entertainment crew did a pretty good job as only three of them, Lars, Alex & Nico, but Nico left during our 2nd week to go to a bigger hotel and was replaced by Dominique.

There are some good bits to shout about, Retsina on tap near the outdoor food area, with a juice and fizzy pop machine too.

There is only bar in the middle of the pool across the bridge.

You get a free 15 minute taster massage which was good, but the follow up prices are expensive.

The exercise room isn't much to shout about, no shower or changing facilities, you have to go back to your room.

This hotel is situated next to a lot of very large trees, these are full of Cicadas, very noisy during the day.

The upstairs Burger and Kebab place along with the Pizza shack are really good if you want snacks.

We always gauge hotels on would we go back, and sadly NO we wouldn't revisit this place.

I have just returned from an 11 night stay there and both me and my 18 year old daughter loved it! We stayed in a room in the "round column-like" building which was immaculate and the swim up rooms looked amazing too. All of the staff there were helpful and would go out of their way to help, especially the lovely Manolis who you will see driving a Golf Buggy taking and delivering the dirty/clean laundry, always with a smile and a kind word to say! The entertainment is low key but always something to see whether it be a game of bingo, fire show, karaoke, greek dancing or the one man band and his acrobratic skills! The hotel has been given a 5 star rating by the greek tourist board, however I would say it is more 4 star as the food, for all there is a variety, it does become repetitive and a bit boring at times but you will never go hungry especially with the non stop italian pizzas on offer for the best part of the day, prepared by a lovely grey haired gentleman who was a delight to get along with. There is a bus stop just opposite where you can take a bus to either Rhodes Town or Lindos for 16 euros return per person but well worth it for the destinations! I would highly recommend the boat trip too to Symi, as it is simply breath-taking and well worth a trip, I promise you will not be disappointed!! Now for my only criticism hence the 4 out of 5 stars rating from me, we arrived very late only to be told that our room wasn't ready, hence we would be put in a suite (which was nice) but had to leave first thing to go to our actual room, hence this was a bit of a pain! Also on the day we had to vacate our room at 11 am (as we couldn't keep it on) was a long one as we weren't flying until 03.55 am the next morning, I did ask if there was any way we could use a room to have a shower and change etc, which I had to pay 30 euros for 4 hours but only had just over an hour in it as the maids hadn't cleaned it, there were no towels and dirty bed clothes from the previous guests, hence I had to ask for it to be cleaned in order for us to use it, then when we did eventually get in, we had the maids knocking on the door asking us to leave as they needed to clean for the next guests, a complete rip off which did taint the end of our stay I have to say, so that is something which the hotel really need to look at, as most flights are very late hence guests need somewhere for a decent amount of time to change and relax a bit before they are picked up for transfer to the airport. Would I go again ...YES but hopefully they will have addressed the issue I raised above.

This hotel is centrally located within easy reach of the Kolympia centre and using local buses , Rhodes , Lindos and falaraki and close by. Whilst it is advertised as 5 star , it is in my opinion 3 - 3.5 star currently.

We stayed here from the 17th August 2022 for 1 week in standard rooms and travelled with our family , 2 girls ( 1 aged 11 and the other aged 18). The rooms were very clean and maintained daily. Room was basic. But did have a fridge which helped with the hot weather when storing cold drinks. Also AC.

Food was passable for an all inclusive , but very repetitive and aware that there are multiple nationalities staying at the hotel during our stay which provides challenges when trying to cater for all tastes.

Daytime pizza was a worthy addition and welcomed. Good quality too.

Drinks were ok

Evening entertainment was average we did see the fire show and some Greek dancing of which the standard was ok.

Daytime entertainment was poor and could have done with some music being played around the pool albeit at an appropriate level. There was at times music being played but this was intermittent.

Pool bar staff and Nico the lifeguard were excellent and were always happy to help and offer advice on what there is to do around the island.

Special shout out to Nico , very hard working and ways going around the pool areas ensuring they were clean and empty glasses were being collected. Nothing was too much trouble for him and he always stopped for a chat and always had a big smile on his face. He is a very worthy employee for the hotel and he certainly enhanced our stay.

All staff were very polite and helpful when we requested anything.

On a slight negative . pool beds were being taken up from 6am each morning and by the time we were at the pool ( 9am - 9.30am ) most of the beds were taken. So unfortunately we had to join the rat race and get up early each morning to save beds. This issue is not just this hotels problem , but is an issue at most anyway.

Overall a very pleasant stay and enjoyable holiday. With excellent people both guests and staff.

We stayed here for a week as a large family group (15 of us), and we had a fantastic holiday. The rooms were air conditioned and kept beautifully clean, lovely friendly staff cleaning them each day. The pool area was clean and plenty of space and shade if you wanted it. There was some entertainment during the day, but not too in your face just some occasional water polo or aqua aerobics. Jonny the main entertainment guy was simply lovely ànd made us all feel really welcome.
The selection of food in the main restaurant was standard all inclusive but done very nicely, plenty of staff clearing plates and refreshing the buffet all the time. The restaurant manager was also very accommodating and friendly. Fantastic pizzas available from pizza oven nearly all day by the awesome pizza man as well as a snack bar for kebabs and chips for most of the day too. You will not go hungry!
One of our party celebrated her birthday during the holiday and they arranged a lovely personalised cake for her.
Short walk to shops, bars and the beach. A great hotel, made so by its lovely staff.

Well it wasn’t a great start when we arrived in the early hours and woke the man on reception, after a few grunts he left us at the pool and pointed across the other side to say your room is there ! There was a block of about 30 rooms and it took us a good while to work out which floor and which end of the block our room was . The rooms were comfortable, the bathroom a bit strange with the toilet on a slant and a bath that you can’t stand up in because it’s too slim for you to place your feet side by side . The best thing about our Room was the wonderful maid Maria , she was so cheery and helpful actually she was the only member of staff that acknowledged us for a full 2 weeks . Although it was all inclusive we didn’t eat or drink there very much as it was so dreary with no atmosphere and sad looking staff also even though it was May everyone was crammed around the pool which in my opinion isn’t big enough for the size of the hotel . We went to the beaches every day . The sheets and towels were changed almost daily the rooms were kept clean . The balcony areas are large but are not private and also do not have anything for you to dry your swim wear which was frustrating .
It’s not a 4 star plus it’s just a 3 .

My brother and I (we’re not gay and not married, receptionists!!) stayed at the Lydia Maris for 11 nights from 30th August. We had to make some amendments to the sleeping arrangements to turn the twin beds in the second room into a double bed. We needed more sheets to do this and had to wait until next morning, but once we had that sorted, and had a good laugh about it, all was fine. The room was perhaps a little basic, but it’s always the case that it becomes like home after a couple of nights. The chambermaids always kept the room spotlessly clean, providing fresh towels everyday so it was always nice to come back to from a ‘hard day on the beach’. The air-con worked fine as did the fridge to keep a bottle of water nice and chilled. The water isn’t re-stocked however so you have to get that from the supermarket up the road.

The restaurant was fine and even the fussiest eater should be able to find something. I personally wanted to stay away from pizza, pasta and bread so concentrated on meats, vegetables and the salad/pickles and I was happy enough. Dessert-wise, watch out for the the Italian style ‘cono’ pastries which you’ll find made with both choux and filo pastry; one of them and you’ll want to eat the whole lot!

A special shout out the the staff in the restaurant, who were lovely, friendly, never stop and are so incredibly efficient. It makes me laugh how many staff English restaurants and pubs seem to need to run them and they’re nowhere as good as this.

The same goes for all the staff and I think this is the hotel’s strength. From the reception, to the restaurant, to the pool bar, to the chambermaids. It feels like a family and you can be part of it if you make a little effort.

Tips for the hotel:

Don’t do Chinese food nights; the Brits eat enough MSG at home. Celebrate and promote your own cuisine as much as you can, pastitsio, moussaka (which I cannot recall seeing…), kleftiko (why was there so little lamb?). There is surely a wealth of beautiful Greek food that can be made in the quantities and to the quality required.

Tip(s) for hotel guests:

The patio doors have a mosquito net; ours did anyway.

The second week of September sees a change of character, obviously, from family to adult; although I did wonder why some kids were not in school late on in the first week. Were it not for the fact I need to use up annual leave from August I’d have preferred to have gone in the second week in September. I said more ‘hello’s and goodbye’s in the last 24hr than I said ‘hello’s’ in the previous 10 days. Learning point for next time, if I don’t go back earlier in the year that is!!

The Lydia restaurant staff can’t do enough for you; treat them well…

Enjoy your holiday!

Arrived in the early hours due to flight delay. Directed to room by a night manager who as others have said was a little vague in pointing out the direction. Sadly no food or drinks left for us in the fridge apart from a bottle of water and tea and coffee facilities. We were due to arrive around midnight, and the bar etc would have been closed then, so something in the fridge would gave been a nice touch for night arrivals.
We had a swim up room and have to say it was lovely. Super comfy huge bed, great shower, no sun on patio, but that didn't bother us, we sunbathed opposite and popped back for swims and shade. It was hot still, up to 33 degrees. It was bliss walking out of the room and having that first dip. Quiet and private too in the bottom lot of swim ups. The main pool was chaotic, crowded and noisy, so we really appreciated our little haven away from it all.
Not overly impressed with the food or drinks though. The food was good, but extremely, imited and repetitive, the restaurant was very busy and understaffed. Long waits to have tables cleared and laid, no table drinks service and very limited choice of drinks on all inclusive, decent cocktails were 8 euros, most people served themselves drinks from the self serve bar as the queues were crazy at the pool bar. This severely limited your options. Pizza and Gyros were available outside restaurant opening times, but no snack bar, ice cream etc, though you could buy stuff from the onsight shop, it was expensive. No bottled water included either. Not great value for all inclusive and fussy eaters, people with dietary requirements, vegetarians or vegans would struggle with what's on offer, although I believe you could request alternatives, you'd still not be getting value for money due to serious lack of choice. No separate kids food section either, although fish fingers were on most days. Great choice of bread and salad though, and spectacular array of deserts at lunchtime.
The hotel itself is pretty, like a mini village, lots of pretty paths and trees providing welcome shade, it's been built around the trees I think. The reception staff and guy in the shop, our cleaning lady, all lovely.
The resort with shops, bars, restaurants etc is just a few steps outside the hotel and the beach a short walk, 5minutes or so. Nice enough beach, sunbeds 10 euros, take beach/water shoes as its a mixture of course sand and pebbles. Warm calm azure water though.
Kolymbia is about equal distance from Rhodes Town and Lindos so easy for trips, there's a bus stop right outside the hotel. 45 euros for a taxi to/from the airport, takes about 30 minutes.

We have recently arrived back form this hotel (7th - 14th Sept) we arrived at 3am in the morning the room we were allocated was on the 1st floor with a staircase leading up to our room, my wife suffers from back problems and struggled with the stairs, the night porter was very helpful and noticed my wife struggling with the stairs and said he would have a word with reception and would get us a room on the ground floor, when we went to reception in the morning they had already allocated a new room for us on the ground floor and they moved our luggage into the new room, very well done to the night porter. The two ladies on reception were always helpful and happy thank you to them. The hotel staff were always cleaning and the hotel was very clean, the food was typical all inclusive but was very variable and of good quality, the drinks again were typical all inclusive but were o,k. you could purchase top range alcohol if you wanted, The sunbeds were taken up very quickly but I was not going to get up at the crack of dawn to reserve them, there were more sunbeds on the grass areas around the pool which did not get reserved quickly. The entertainment was not very good and this could be upgraded by the hotel for future years. The beach is o.k sand with some stones, we found it best to wear beach shoes to get into the sea, there are water sports available on the beach. All in all a good hotel to stay in.

Travelled with a 12 and 10 year old. Never been to greece before, not sure if they rate hotels different in greece but our room was more a 3 plus star rating, when compared to 4/5 star that we've stayed in. We stayed in a standard room.
The blankets on the beds are very faded, bobbled and worn looking. Furniture very outdated. Never really heard any noise from other guests.Air con was extremely good, shuts off if you open the sliding doors, turns back on when you close them.Pool is large compared to how small the resort is,never overly busy and all sorts of inflatables are allowed. Day time water polo and water aerobics. Only negative concerning the pool is they close it at 7pm and there isn't much for older kids to do after that, would be great if it stayed open a bit later. There is one working pool table(other one out of order)2 euros a game and a table tennis. Small shop on grounds. Always a sunbed available, may be not directly around the pool but right behind,on the grass..We really liked the buffet food, plenty of options and deserts were really nice.We didn't use the snack bar. Water is available at the pump machine, also fizzy drinks and juice, tea, coffee ect. Place has a really nice feel about it,family run, everyone nice and friendly and all staff work really hard. The grounds are kept really nice, few lemon, lime and banana trees scattered around..Bus across the road from resort,on left side.Takes you to rhodes,lindos,faliraki,prasonisi,7 springs, kalithea springs, afandou, tsambika beach.mostly costs 4euros there 4 euros back. Also the free bus to the water park at 10am every day and return at 5pm. Shops right outside resort, several beaches and the harbour 10min walk away. Theres a place called Food box up the road, they do lovely food and an outstanding gyros. Lots of little shops selling clothes, souvenirs ect, places to eat,a little fun fair for toddlers..There is a room to put your luggage in,after 11am check out but it's not secure, there was 4 large lockers you can pay for and store large bags in though,so we paid 30 euros to stay in our room 11am-3pm..

We visited for 10 days arriving August 8th, we were greeted warmly by reception, checked in quickly and taken to our swim up family suite (Assisted with suitcases) so first impressions were excellent..

When in the room pleasantly surprised by the size of both the bedroom & the lounge area, Bathroom was also a good size with a Excellent Spa type shower cubicle..

Then we saw the Swim up pool area and WOW it was so inviting (So myself & 11 year old Francesca were in, whilst the wife unpacked lol), water was lovely & warm thanks to the stunning Greek sun), the wife also was happy she says the holiday can’t start until all unpacked & was impressed by amount of storage etc..

Myself & Francesca then sat on our very private patio area, complete with 2x quality Sun-beds & a director type chair as the wife completed unpacking..

Now it was time to venture up to the lovely restaurant for our evening meal, the Buffett style restaurant offers a good selection of food, lovely salads, fresh bread and lots of Greek influenced food (Which personally we liked, although did hear a few gripes that the food wasn’t very English, mmmmm come on guys we are in Greece after all), Wine, Beer, Pop, water all available on tap), Lunch pretty much follows the same as above and breakfast was as expected (Lots of fruit, Yoghurt & hot selections)..

Lunches our preferences was the lovely Greco terrace that served lovely Souvlaki, Chicken, Pork, Fries, Nuggets, Fish fingers, Pitta’s, Fresh salad & the most delightful Tzatziki ever..

The Pizza was also lovely and was always popular..

Drinks inc excellent coffee are available from all the areas mainly self service, apart from the Pool bar which serves lovely cocktails both very alcoholic & non alcoholic version, along with the normal bar options..

Evening entertainment is quite low key, but fun at times and the music quiz was particularly entertaining, don’t expect broadway shows etc as you won’t get them…

Cleanliness this place is spotless and our maid who visited us every day was simply outstanding and did a amazing job..

Shame the main bar near reception wasn’t open as advertised as it’s a very attractive & different space, also found it a bit peculiar that you have to pay for bottled water (This really should be included or a couple of large bottles left in the room when the excellent maid visited daily?)

In summary a smaller All inclusive resort that we really enjoyed & if All inclusive is your thing you won’t be disappointed..
