Asking me if I'd like to stay at rhodes bay would be like asking me if I wanted £1million, of course I'd say yes!

Where to begin? Ok let's start by saying if you want a hotel that can cater for multiple budgets, this is one that can offer a variety of packages.

We stayed in the Elite suites which you can have a private pool at an aditional cost.

Now pools.....I'd wager that 60% of Rhodes island is just swimming pools you can use at this hotel alone! There are I believe 5 or 6 in total which cater for all types of people

There's two pools on the 11th floor (1 main pool and a smaller kids pool)

There's a pool on the ground floor which is a family pool where there's a pool bar in the pool.

A little further up some stairs of the ground floor pool is the adult only pool if you fancy getting away from those adorable angels for a while.

To the side of the ground floor pool is the black pool (because its coloured black.....obviously).

This pool is for the Elite suite guests only, so if you want to feel a little bit more "posh" you can use this one if your in the Elite suites (someones doing well for themselves eh?).

Then there's the indoor pool located in the spa (phew that's a lot of pools).

Then if you stay in certain Elite suites you have you're own private pool if you want no contact with other humans for the day.

Ok enough pool talk, let's move to other features the hotel offers:

Onsite Gym: for those who wish to work off all the copious ammounts of calories you'll inevitably consume trying all the amazing food, you can use the gym and is available to all guests.

Spa: if you weren't pampered enough by having 6 pool choices you can relax with a variety of sauna, steam room, massage and other treatments, in the spa area is an onsite hairdressers for if you forgot to get your mop chopped before you came.

Onsite shop: if you needed essentials like a lilo or a fridge magnet, or you just needed a snack if you were only bed and breakfast, the shop has gifts and snacks available.

Tennis courts: I'm not sure why anyone would want to play tennis in temperatures verging on the center of the sun, but if you're crazy (and brave) enough, you can use the tennis courts by asking at reception.

Accessability: Rhodes bay has free wifi for all guests and for wheelchair users, the hotel has lots of lifts and access ramps so its easy to get about if you require assistance, the staff are very friendly and accomodating.

Restaurants: there are 3 restaurants on site, one is on the 11th floor near the pool, that offers generic hotel food throughout the day like pizza, spag bol etc (catered more towards kids) but at night is more of an al acarte style restaurant.

There's the main buffet restaurant on the 10th floor which you can get as much fodder as you can eat, it offers a multitude of dishes from traditional greek dishes, to chinese, to italian, seafood, english and the menus change often so there's always something new to try!

Then there's the Vakarola restaurant on the bottom floor near the ground floor pool, this is an al acarte restaurant that charges a bit extra if you fancy more fine dining than what the main restaurant has.

Please note that if you are all inclusive, there can be a bit of confusion with which bars offer free drinks as I believe only certain drinks at the al acarte are in the all inclusive that would be free at the main bars, best thing is to check before you order (al acarte isn't part of all inclusive anyway so you'll be paying extra if you decide to eat there).

The hotel has a lot of beautiful grounds to walk around, the front gardens offer a peaceful walk and seating areas are scattered around different locations that offer a bit of a different scenic view.

In the main hotel lobby there is a walled garden with a waterfall I call the "zen garden" easy to find but believe it or not easy to miss too if you aren't looking for it despite it being directly infront of the main entrance.

The rooms are well maintained and very up to date, the elite suites offer a his and hers vanity and both a seperate bath and shower.

The beds are massive....and by when I say massive, I'm talking you could host wimbledon on them and still have room to sleep. The pillows are super comfy and the matress is probably one of the best I've ever slept on. There's mood lighting too incase the mood takes you. A sofa and TV, its like your own little appartment.

Services: you can book a variety of things at reception like taxis and quad bike rentals, I believe you can also book certain excursions too at the guest relations stands.

Beach: Rhodes bay has its own little private area of the beach which you can get via the underpass in the hotel, alternatively you can chance it crossing the road if you're a bit more of a daredevil thrillseeker (greeks as far as I can tell have no concept of what highway codes are or how zebra crossing work, as far as I can tell its a 50/50 chance a car will stop for you, or just plow straight into you there's barely any road markings to show where a road ends and a new one begins, and scientists are still trying to figure out how a greek roundabout works, yet somehow, miraculously it just works)

Be aware that Rhodes beaches are very stoney and I can only describe getting into the sea is like stepping barefoot on lego whilst trying to keep balanced as you wade into the surf. You need diamond feet and the balance of a tight rope walker to get in, but you'll be pleased to know that it gets sandy-er the further out you go, so if you have any feet left once you're in, your golden.

The beach has private sunbeds for guests and the views are really nice.

Would I recommend this hotel? Abso-freaking-lutely. I'd say it is well worth the money no matter which package you chose and is great for couples, families and singletons alike!

The only thing you'll regret is not going there sooner!

We booked a last minute 10 night stay in August at Rhodes Bay Hotel with Rhodes appearing one of the safest for Covid-19 infection levels. The stay was wonderful, travelling as family. Husband, wife and 4 children (3,7,16 and 16).
We arrived late at night to a friendly check in and told there were some light snacks, a little disappointingly at a cost (After 23.00) on the 11th floor.
We had 2 twin rooms right next to each other on the 9th floor. Rooms are small but have all amenities needed, including plentiful hot water. Even with restrictions, rooms were cleaned often enough to our liking. If we return I would look to upgrade to the bungalows on the 11th floor as these looked very nice and much larger space for family.
The pools were all very nice and beds around them spaced out so social distancing could be observed. For the first 7 days there was plenty of choice at both pools on ground and 11th floor but in the last few days the hotel was clearly increasing capacity and we noticed by 9.30 people arriving at the pools could not find beds.
The food, restaurants and staff are what make the hotel though. If you are a plain eater, like chips, pizza and burgers for every meal then this hotel is not for you. But if you like great choice, well cooked worldwide cuisine then this is right up your street. The hotel has adapted well their buffet restaurant, with excellent servers helping at all buffet stations, and waiting staff serving drinks and clearing plates. Special thanks to Jessica and Sokratis.
Other highlights include the views from the restaurant on the 10th and bar on the 11th floor, a flawless stunning red sunset every evening. Cocktails on the 11th floor, made well and efficiently by the staff. Main evening barman very efficient and always remembering your favourite tipple.
The beach is pleasant, but rocky so if you want a tranquil clear sea and beautiful sandy beaches then you need to head down the East coast towards Lindos.
Overall a great family break and much needed break from stresses of 2020.

So my friend & I have just returned from a lovely week at the Rhodes Bay Hotel & on the whole it was a great experience. Rather than a long rambling review we just want to tell you about the pro’s & con’s
PRO’S:
Great systems in place to cope with Coronavirus, one way system in & out of hotel, hand sanitiser stations a plenty, mask enforcements (health providing), temperatures taken prior to entering the restaurant at breakfast, lunch & dinner.
Restaurant service is amazing, very well run & staff are attentive beyond words. A great choice of food, plenty of variety & extremely tasty.
Pool area on level 11 was lovely, quiet & we must mention Katerina who provided 1st class service to the guests.
Hotel is generally spotlessly clean in all areas with great service levels in the majority of areas.
CONS:
After paying to upgrade to a sea view room at the time of booking through TUI we were given an older dated room on floor 4 overlooking the hotel in front with a huge tree to the left, yes we could see the sea but certainly not warranted of the upgraded price, we spoke to reception the following morning who charged us A further €90 to upgrade to floor 7 a Delux sea view only to find other guests had booked standard mountain view rooms being upgraded to delux sea view at no cost at all - not happy!!
When we challenged this at reception we were given a story that the hotel was full & it was the only room’s available, simply not true & to add insult to injury when we asked to keep the room as we had a late check out we were begrudgingly offered it until 1pm free of charge but a charge of €60 to keep it until 6pm.
Not a huge gluten free option although staff did try to assist as much as possible
Bar service at the adult only pool was very sporadic & generally poor

We had a fabulous break but there are areas that should be addressed without doubt, saying that we would stay here again as it was generally a lovely stay

Response from Nicos Stergiopoulos, General Manager at Rhodes Bay Hotel & Spa
Responded 11 Sept 2020
Dear netskiPlymouth “kalimera” from Rhodes, the island of endless Sunshine, a true gem of 2400-year history and architecture, the crossroad of Cultures, the endless diversity of beautiful spots and sights, home of Colossus, one of the seven Wonders of the world, Appreciating the time you took to beautifully review, and share your experience with Trip Advisor Community, it feels so wonderful to see that you have selected Rhodes Bay Hotel & Spa for an endless summer in Greece and spend a “lovely week” with us! Your praising comments on our facilities and our services are truly rewarding, keeping us motivated and alert to continue rendering impeccable services based on the concept of genuine, true Greek “Filoxenia”- Hospitality with rituals giving a feeling of homecoming and ritualized friendship, of protection, of attention , taking care of and respect ! It feels a bit awkward, however, with the inconvenience you experienced when the allocation to a standard Sea View Room, as entitled, and based on the original booking you had made through TUI, was not as expected. According to the hotel rating policy, though, guests who originally book a Room from the Standard category, regardless of the view, pay a supplement if they wish to move to a Deluxe Category Room, a category which refers to the fully renovated rooms, and with a different supplement for a Sea View or for a Mountain View . And certainly, moving to another room, regardless of category and View, clearly depends on the hotel availability, on the day of the request. Our Front Office Team, excelling in professionalism all these years of the operation and treating all our Guests as distinguished members of our family, under no circumstance would have the intention of misinforming, “insulting” or treating anybody unequally . Therefore, it is a bit of surprise to us to read that we let you go having the impression that not all guests who wish to upgrade their room category or the view from their room, pay a supplement. Besides, due to the “weird” Covid-19 situation of this year, we are forced to impose and implement a number of precautions, measures, restrictions and changes on the way we render services in order to be compliant with the guidelines and measures, released in the Health and Safety Protocole by the Greek Government, as well as the Internal Hotel Protocole and Plan aiming to the Health and Safety of all our Guests, our Employees, our Collaborators and the Community . We truly appreciate your trust, your acknowledgement and your contribution on helping us ensure that all guidelines and limitations are followed to the letter. Among others, the check in time has changed this year to 15:00 hrs. and check-out time at 11:00 hrs., thus giving ample time to the Housekeeping Team to thoroughly clean, sanitize, disinfect the departing Room and at the same time, according to the Protocole regulations, to let the room unoccupied for many hours, if possible, 24 hrs. before the next occupant arrives. As you can understand, this procedure restricts and limits time scheduling the rooms availability for new occupancy or for a Day Use and still keeping the service quality standards to the top! In the meantime, considering food as one of our top priorities, we are truly delighted that you found your culinary travel here amazing and tasty, with plenty of choice, hoping that you had the chance to taste pure traditional, Rhodian items from the certified by the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels, Greek Breakfast Corner, such as “Fanouropita, “Melekouni” or “Loukoumathes” ! It is a pity though, that we missed the chance to satisfy the dietary requirement you had with the “gluten- free options” as it was not reported to the Restaurant Team. I personally guarantee they would have promptly taken care of your wish! The whole Team and I , sending you our warmest regards and the most positive vibes from Rhodes, once again, truly thanking You for selecting Rhodes Bay Hotel & Spa for your “lovely stay” and the “fabulous break”, we are looking forward to welcoming you many more times and ensure that you will create more personal stories, filling and adorning Your Memory Box with Sunsets, and Memories that you will want to remember for the years to come!! Yours Sincerely Nikos Stergiopoulos General Manager

We’re just coming to the end of a 12 night holiday here. We’ve loved our stay and it has been a very relaxing stay after a crazy year. The highlight was how lovely, calm and quiet the hotel was and the views from the roof top bar. It was perfect for having a drink and watching the sunset.

Rooms:
We stayed in a deluxe room on floor 9. It was modern and had just been updated. We had the forest view which was perfectly fine but didn’t spend any time out here.

Pool:
We spent all our time on the roof top pool. It was quieter than the main pool and always had available sun beds. It’s busiest time was in the morning but after lunch more beds would free up.

Food:
We stayed bed and breakfast and are so glad we did. There are lots of restaurants to the left of the hotel and a handful to the right. We would definitely recommend staying b&b and supporting the local restaurants as they are finding it really hard in this current climate. We enjoyed every meal we had at both lunch and dinner. Definitely recommend visiting, The Luna bar, Sebastians, Keep it simple, the Chinese, the Indian, El Greco, Da Romeo and Jason’s.

The breakfast at the hotel was lovely and with lots of options. You weren’t allowed to serve yourself which meant everything stayed cleaner.

Covid:
All the staff wore masks. There are hand sanitizer stations all over the hotel. Tables and sun beds are all social distanced. The rooms get disinfected before anyone else stays in there.

Staff:
The staff here have been amazing. Unfortunately during my stay I lost half my front tooth and Gaynor at reception was amazing at sorting me an emergency appointment within the hour. The girl at the top pool was also incredibly friendly as were the girls in the sky bar each evening. This is probably one of the friendliest hotels (and local resort) we’ve ever been to. Everyone cares and takes a vested interest in your stay.

We also hired a car from the hotel which was very reasonably priced and visited Lindos beach which was amazing!

We would 100% recommended staying here.

Just arrived home from 8 days at the Rhodes bay hotel and it was a great place to stay we checked in around 11.30pm had temperature checks and plenty of hand sanitation stations around. We were expecting a sea view but it was a mountain view my husband was disappointed and we changed rooms the next afternoon.
Staff are very friendly and welcoming people that stood out were Voula in rooftop bar and Irene in pool area. The animation team were great especially Megan who went out of her way to chat to all families.
Breakfast is a little different due to COVID you queue and give room number and temperature is taken you are then taken to your table, however you can not serve yourself anything this means lots of queuing and waiting as very little staff and I did witness a few cross words when people tried to serve themselves food was fine and plenty of choice BUT coffee is cold.
The pool area is lovely clean and nice atmosphere with music pool bar and water aerobics etc the staff work extremely hard and are always wearing masks and gloves.
You need to wear mask in the lifts but around the rest of the hotel you can remove it.
The road outside is very very busy so take the underground tunnel to the beach which has many sun loungers and Umbrellas during our stay from Saturday until Friday people were putting towels on sun beds and then staying away most of the day on Saturday morning all towels were removed from beds and put in huge pile! After this a sign was put out asking you NOT to reserve beds ..maybe thus should have been from the start? Another thing that changed during the week our room was cleaned every day until suddenly Thursday it stopped after two days of no cleaning we asked and were told due to COVID you now have to put sign on your door for it to be cleaned this is fine but we should have been told AND each room needs to be provided with the sign we had two rooms and no sign to put on either door.
Towels are provided in the spa area each day and you must wear mask when entering shops and bars are 5 min walk and all very friendly. We went on a boat trip from harbour to lindos a beautiful trip.
Definitely go into the harbour lots of great restaurants and nice old town is lovely to walk around and soak up the atmosphere but food is just ok

We stayed there for a week in August 2020
The food is lovely and plenty of it and all the staff is very friendly and attentive, especially Katerina at the rooftop pool.
The hotel takes the virus very seriously, so we felt safe, knowing that all staff wears masks all the time and disinfects sunbeds in the pool areas as well as tables in all the restaurants. There were plenty hand sanitizers fixed around the place, at every door, lifts, restaurants and rest rooms and additionally bottle of hand sanitizer in rooms. The room itself was nice with both bath and shower cabin, big comfy bed and a balcony. We had a great time and it was lovely and relaxing holiday thanks to lovely staff. Highly recommended

Dear SaraK2208 “Kalimera” from sunny and warm Rhodes, the island of 300 days of sunshine, 2400 years of History and Culture! It is so thrilling to see that you have selected Rhodes Bay Hotel & Spa for an endless summer in Greece, and we truly thank you for your recommendations and for sharing your experience with Trip Advisor Community! Considering “Filoxenia”- Hospitality a decent relationship between You and us based on honesty, generosity and friendship, associated with respect, protection and taking care of, your praising comments on the facilities, the services and our Team are highly appreciated and truly rewarding ! Thank you for acknowledging all our efforts, training and investment on ensuring that all guidelines, measures and procedures as released in the Health & Safety Protocole by the Greek government and the Internal Hotel Protocole, are implemented and followed by the line. Having as main aim and concern the Protection of the Health & Safety of our Guests, our Team and effectively the Community, we truly thank you for your contribution and your understanding even though, under the circumstances, we were forced to impose some restrictions and limitations in the operation times of some departments, or less number of deckchairs and beach umbrellas around the swimming pools and the beach, to comply with the guidelines of placing them at specific measured distance between each other, service at the buffet by our Team and a number of others. And for sure all these keeping the quality standards to the top! Being really thrilled that you enjoyed absorbing the Rhodian Sun-rays and swimming in our pools, I hope you experienced swimming in the endless crystal clear, 50 shades of sea waters of the Aegean blue at the privately owned beach front, which is recently awarded with the Blue Flag for participating in the international programme for caring for the environment and you had the chance to experience the convenience of the underway passage for going there! Also, I am hope your exploration of the island included a visit to the temple of Zeus on the highest mountain of Attavyros, or you experienced magnificent views of the sunset from a visit to the Medieval Castle of Kritinia and Monolithos or you visited the wonderful site of “Filerinos” and had a walk along the Calvary route towards the impressive, big cross, feeling the spiritual aura, admiring the magnificent sunset disturbed by the weird background sounds-mating cries of beautiful peacocks! Once again, truly thanking You for selecting Rhodes Bay Hotel & Spa for your holiday, the whole Team and I are sending our warmest regards and the most positive vibes from Rhodes, and we are looking forward to welcoming you for many more times and ensure that you will create more personal stories, filling and adorning Your Memory Box with Sunsets and Memories that you will want to remember for the years to come!! We arrived at the hotel at 11am, our room wasn’t ready but they offered to store our bags, our temperature was taken and the hotel had Covid well covered, hand sanitizer throughout the hotel. When we finally got into our room it was basic, I have informed the hotel that it was our anniversary, two twin bed but they did leave a bottle of wine, it was a bit thoughtless giving us twin beds. The room was very small and the smallest shower I have ever seen you had to close the bathroom door in order to open the shower door, very uncomfortable.

Breakfast was basic and for obvious reasons the served the food, the toast had to go through Threes times to even get a slight colour, most of the food was cold and very basic, coffee and tea always cold, some staff were miserable. Temperature was taken every morning which was good. This was also an all inclusive hotel which we didn’t have, though we ordered a few beers and soft drinks, on one occasion I ordered a Smirnoff vodka and sprite, I watched the young lady make it and prepared myself after she poured in one and half shorts of vodka, well I was surprised that it was basically all sprite, most definitely watered down, we didn’t buy drinks in the hotel again, it’s the principle of being taken advantage of. Be careful in Rhodes old town, they constantly call you for drinks and dinner, they say I will bring you bread, all this comes with dips, when the bill came they had added a good €20, €25 euros to the bill, plus they will give you the largest beer in a boot and will pay top price for it .
We borrowed and iron and on two occasions this ruined our clothes, one burnt iron and dye came off the cover on top a white top.
On a final note Rhodes bay have another section to the hotel called Elite suites and only theses in the elite suite are permitted to eat on the veranda and have the soft sun beds on the beach, a man jumps out from behind a tree and demands to know your room number and key and asks you to move. The highlight of the week was Anna place on the beach, highly recommend lunch, dinner and drinks, casual and very friendly staff. We would or recommend or return unfortunately.

We booked this hotel as it advertised luxury and newly renovated to be very modern. Our room was very dated, no double bed two singles which didn’t meet together, no fluffy dressing gown and no key to the safe. Shower was so small I could not shave my legs otherwise I would burn my bum on the tap or the door would fly open. I complained and they zipped beds together, brought us dressing gowns and sent maintenance man to sort safe. He went away, didn’t return, several calls later & an 1hr of waiting finally got right key.
We went to find a sun lounger, there was none. All comfy chairs taken. I went to complain I was advised due to covid they were not allowed any more out. We were not the only ones complaining. We waited till a couple moved. Not all sun loungers had the thick comfy cushions, there was a handful along with cheap sometime broken loungers.
No full length mirror in my room.

Cocktails but did not tell you what what ingredients, so you had to guess. If you wanted a mojito it was not included in All-inclusive.

On a positive note most the staff were very helpful & with a small tip they would be very attentive. Desserts were really tasty, prosecco was included but ask for sparkling wine. Food was mostly great, Al la carte restaurant was good you need to book at the start of your holiday otherwise they may not fit you in.

Bars & restaurants just 10 mins away, some were quiet some busy with good atmosphere. Weather was lovely only one day of thunderstorms.

Hotel was really clean, covid rules, temp checked each meal time, hand sanitizers only required to wear masks whilst in the lifts. Buffet food served for you, had to get how much you want or which bread as some not labelled & staff not understanding. Overall they are doing a great job.

I would not go back to this hotel as it was not what was described and nor was it the luxury we had hoped for, for the price we feel ripped off.

Me and my husband booked 6 days on this luxury hotel for our summer vacation and we expected "okay" amenities but this place blew our minds away.I am talking about top notch quality hotel. The best things for us was without a doubt the view we had,the food, hotel's deisgn and of course the stuff's service.Every stuff member was well prepared about the covid measures they had to take for the customers. The waitresses and the women who cleaned our room made us feel very comfortable.Everyone was very gentle and took care of us.
Also,we went to the two pools the hotel has,and we were satisfied enough not only swimming but seeing that the two pools had lifeguards who were always on duty and ready to help and cleaned the sunbeds for covid purposes.
The restaurant's food was very high quality,we tried most of their foods on the menu although some of them could be a little larger. The overall atmosphere the restaurant had,was exactly what we desired for a 5-star hotel.
We will definitely come back next year to enjoy Rhodes Bay's amazing amenities and see more of Rhodes.

After booking at the very last minute we wasn't expecting too much but dispite some of the negative reviews which in my view are unjust we were pleasantly surprised at the standard of the hotel and the quality of staff.

Let's start with the hotel, it's not 5 star but a very good 4 star + slightly dated from the outside but extremely well decorated inside. If I had a complaint the rooms are small and our unit only had a shower cubicle which was very uncomfortable, if you are big I would suggest it would be an issue. The bar, restaurant and rooftop pool are excellent with excellent service although the music is dreadful!

The food is extremely good although there wasn't much fish on the menu and there was no omelette maker at breakfast.

There is an al le Carte restaurant which you can book for one lunch and one dinner, it is top top draw and one of the best eateries I've visited in a long time. You can pay to est there.

There is a good well appointed gym and the pools are clean and well maintained and constantly guarded.

Staff 10/10
Food 9/10
Facilities 8/10
Rooms 7/10
Booze 9/10
Music 1/10

There's not much kids entertainment going on either but there is a small children's park on site

I'd ask before getting there to make sure they can accommodate your request it would all depend on how full the hotel is and if they need the room back but they do have a place to store luggage for those flying back late
