I stayed in Olympic Palace Hotel and availed of the all-inclusive package from the 8th to the 15th of July 2023.

This was one of the most beautiful hotels I have stayed in. Unfortunately, due to the late flight times, we did not arrive at the hotel until Midnight, so we were essentially missing out on a full day of all inclusive. We contacted them in advance, and they let us know that they would have some food for us in the room after our flight and they were happy to allow us to avail of the all inclusive all day on Saturday 15th, even though our check out was at 11am which I thought was really an amazing offer that they did not have to do. When we arrived, the receptionist (a man) who checked us in at this time was more than helpful and explained how everything works.

We arrived at our sea view room. The rooms are spacious and spotless clean. They have left us freshly made sandwiches, water and fruit in our room as we had missed dinner which was a lovely touch.

The cleaners come everyday and leave the room spotless every time! They are also very friendly ladies

It was my boyfriends 30th birthday on Sunday 9th July, we went out for the day and when we arrived back to the room, there was balloons all over the room, ‘happy birthday banners’ a bottle of wine and a card wishing him a happy birthday all compliments of the hotel. It was such a lovely thoughtful touch, (photos attached) we were so grateful.

There are 3 big pools at the hotel. The middle pool has a pool bar and there are plenty of sun beds around the pool so there is no need to rush down in the mornings to get a seat.

The pool area is impeccably clean, every morning the pool is cleaned and the surrounding area.

The pool area is open to sit in very early and the pool itself opens at 10am (although every morning we were there, the pool was cleaned, and we were allowed swim by 9:30am!) Lilos are allowed in the pool and are available in the hotel shop.

Sam and Fathir are the staff in the pool bar, they are both such lovely and funny people who really contributed to such an amazing experience. Sam had us laughing everyday and she makes the best cocktails available in seconds!!

There is an animation team who preform water aerobics, Zumba, pool gym and host a mini club for kids around the pool 6 days a week. They are also present in the evenings. These were a lovely group of girls, but I have to say Victoria truly went out of her way to be so friendly to everyone. We had chats at the pool, and she was always in great form! It was clear that she really enjoyed what she was doing, and she put so much effort into all the activities and ensured everyone was having a great time!

There is entertainment on in the hotel every night such as live bands, dancers, music quiz’ and karaoke – we enjoyed them all very much!

There are so many options for the all inclusive package. The breakfast buffet was delicious, then the last breakfast buffet in the snack bar was even better! Our favourite was the Aquamarine snack bar for late breakfast and day time snacks.

Upon arrival, you are also offered a free meal in one of the al la carte restaurants.

We tried the Pizza restaurant ‘la tonda’ and the Mexican restaurant too. The Pizza restaurant was amazing, its outdoor and they make the pizza fresh Infront of you. They staff in there were amazing, so friendly and helpful.

There are so many activities and amenities in the hotel such as a hair Salon, a spa, supermarket, game room, escape room, pool/snooker room and so much more.

The only negative we had all week was that the man who walks you to your table in the main restaurant and the receptionists are quite rude. The man is blunt and quite rude and same goes for the receptionists at times.

The host in the main restaurant and the staff in the rooftop bar are fantastic, such lovely accommodating people and they are a credit to the hotel.

The rooftop bar and the champagne bar have fantastic views of the sea and if you enjoy a sunset, you can’t miss experiencing it from the rooftop bar, an unforgettable experience!

The hotel also has a private beach with sunbeds for guests only, a lovely beach and we enjoyed watching the sunset from there. Check out is at 11am and our flight home wasn’t until midnight so we availed of the late check out which was only €60 and brought our check out time to 6pm which was amazing, every other late check out I’ve got in a hotel was only until 3pm.

Overall I would rate this hotel a 9.8 out of ten, it really is fantastic and I would recommend it to ianyone visiting Rhodes.

We stayed here for a week in September. The views from the Sea view rooms were stunning. We stayed on the 8th floor next to the roof top bar, the rooms and hotel were kept clean and had safety measures in place to ensure distancing and safety of the guests. We opted for half board and had our breakfast and dinner at the hotel restaurant. Dimitris served us on a couple of occasions and was an outstanding waiter, he made us feel welcome and was professional and friendly every time we saw him. We made use of the on site pool tables, mini golf course and entertainment. The head of entertainment who unfortunately I cannot remember her name was also very welcoming and friendly, she ran a karaoke night which was particularly fun. The private beach owned by the hotel was a great asset we made lots of use of and Anna’s place which is a food van on that part of the beach is a must see, the food was very good and reasonably priced. The food at the hotel was average but overall we had a great stay and would be happy to visit again. Thanks to all the staff making our stay a great one!

My wife and I have just returned from a weeks holiday here and can say I can't fault the hotel. The staff are so welcoming and helpful, in the main restaurant we were looked after by irene who was excellent and made sure we were well looked after at both breakfast and dinner. The mature d and daniella were also extremely helpful to us. When we arrived my bag was misplaced and I spoke to the reception staff to see if they had a spare phone charger and one lent me his own personal charger (but asked to get it back before he went home which he did). The pools are very clean and so were the surrounding areas. Location wise was excellent as there were shops, bars and restaurantsto the left of the hotel main road that ran for a out a mile and to get to rhodes town was a 15 minute bus ride from the stop directly outside the hotel and was 2 euros each way (last bus is at 11pm) beach is opposite and has a section for the hotel reserved with beds prepared each morning. Finally there is the hotel cat who is very friendly and doesn't get in your way. There are 4 bars (1 in the main pool and 3 indoors) that have a wide array of drinks for reasonable price. All in all if you are after somewhere that is quiet but not silent, you'll be very welcomed and looked after then this is the place to go.
Final note with regards to dinner, each night there are 3 different dinners as well as accompanied meals like usual buffets and each can be altered to taste to cater for any dietary or allergy requirements, make sure to mention to matre d when you sit down.

Our first holiday together. Stunning aesthetic on arrival with lounge bar and reception which is unfortunately mismatched by a poor hotel room view, trying to sleep with chairs being scraped directly above you at the same time every night and a restaurant manager, who picks and chooses who should adhere to the ‘dress code’. The rest of the staff were excellent throughout especially those in the pool bar with their PPE. Must admit the location is great as only 10 minute bus to Rhodes Town and a strip of nice restaurants can be found to the left.

Unfortunately the food in the main restaurant was very repetitive so we had to spend roughly an extra €200 at other restaurants. This could be due to COVID-19 but quite frustrating when we paid the extra money for all inclusive. We were ‘all-inclusive’ yet they would display drinks that we would have to pay for. Although, there is a roof top bar which has a fantastic view as seen in the picture and this is usually the place to go for a drink or the lounge bar but had no atmosphere and mainly empty. Entertainment for adults was lacklustre with only music quizzes and Aqua Gym at the pool with latino music once a week in the roof top bar. There were 2 pools which weren’t a problem at all.

On our final day, we were asked to check out at 11am but we were only flying at 02:10 the following morning. They demanded €60 for an extra 4 hours in the room which was ‘policy’ yet other people we had met at the hotel were able to negotiate to stay until 6pm free of charge! Overall, location, weather and majority of staff excellent but if you are a young couple i would advise not coming here as the price for the 14 night holiday (around £3000) doesn’t match with the experience as well as the lack of people in our age range.

Dear Valued Guest, Thank you for taking the time to bring your feedback to our attention. We are very sorry to read that there were certain issues that caused some level of dissatisfaction and would like to apologize for any inconvenience caused. Firstly, we would like to warmly thank you for all the positive comments made including the hotel’s location as well as our staff friendliness and professionalism; this is by far the best way to reward all of us working at the Olympic Palace and feel very grateful indeed. We are very sorry to note that you did not like the room allocated and wondered whether you raised this with either our guest relations or reception so as to have given us the chance to provide an alternative room. It is not uncommon during this quiet season to assist guests in offering alternative rooms when we have the availability and we are saddened to read that this was not in line with your personal experience. As far as the dress code during dinner is concerned, kindly note we have a very relaxed policy with only a handful of things not being allowed (i.e. wearing beachwear or sportwear during dinner etc). We are genuinely sorry to read that you found the implementation of the dress code policy to be inconsistent and would like to apologize for any dissatisfaction felt. Although we do not seem to have similar feedback to suggest that this is the case, we will be happy to review the situation and relay this comment for the evaluation of the hotel’s food & beverage manager. We also understand that food is something very subjective and a matter of personal taste, yet in contrast to your feedback, which we fully appreciate & respect, we have really positive scores in regards to the hotel’s cuisine this year. This can be further substantiated by the various reviews found here on Tripadvisor and can only apologize at this stage should the menu was found to be repetitive (albeit this changes daily in a 14 days rotation program). Our all-inclusive program consists of a good variety of locally produced alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks with certain specialty drinks and branded beverages being on extra charge. We are very sorry to read your dissatisfaction in regards to this point but feel that the description and offering of our program is consistent and fair taking in mind that we do not advertise a premium or ultra all-inclusive program. Regarding the late check out, please note a supplement of €60 is charged for keeping one’s room up until 18:00 pm (that is 7 hours from the check out time being at 11 am this year); a practise which is pretty standard in the hotel industry worldwide. Kindly note other guests may have been offered a complimentary late check out depending on the room type booked via our website as we do offer and reward guests for booking directly. Once again thank you for taking the time to bring your valuable feedback to our attention; we hope that despite the issues raised overall you had an enjoyable stay with us and that you would consider returning to our hotel again in the future. Kindest Regards, Amel Mannai GR Manager

I have just returned from a week in this hotel. Due to the current situation this wasn’t our first choice but after our holiday was cancelled booked this last minute and we was not disappointed.
The hotel itself is spotless , room cleaned everyday , fresh towels. There are hand sanitizers all over , 2 in lifts at a time , everything is organised. Even down to the sun beds round the pool, if someone has left a bed and you go to get on it the pool man (gianni) will come and clean it. And the lady behind the pool bar, can’t remember her name works tirelessly and is always happy. The pool area is lovely, there are enough sun beds and everywhere is clean.
I can’t comment on evening food as we didn’t eat here once, we like to venture out , but the breakfast was lovely. I have to give a special mention to our waiter , kyriakos? I think that’s how you spell it!
He was always there to greet us with the coffee and orange and just helped with absolutely anything you needed , this man needs a Rise!!! Thank you.
The only negative I have is the location . The hotel has its own beach area but it’s quite stony, we like a sandy beach so we travelled into Faliraki for 2 days just so we could walk up and down a sandy beach. Tbh it was quite straight forward , a bus into Rhodes and then it links straight with a bus to Faliraki. We also went to Rhodes old town a few nights, this is a must. What a beautiful place full of old ruins, with Greek tavernas scattered all through the castle.
This is a 15 min bus ride or a 5 min cab for 10 euros and well worth a few visits 👍
The reps ( animation they’re called) we’re also excellent. Aerobics in the pool everyday and also lots of activities for older ones and kids.
All in all we were very hesitant about going away in this time but was soo glad we did. This hotel exceeded our expectations.
Sorry for long review but feel I also have to give the man on reception/ check in a mention although I have forgot his name , starts with V ? He was always helpful and friendly. You have definitely nailed it with your staff. Great holiday with you. Thank you 👍

From arrival at the hotel, everything was well organized & efficient. We had a wonderful Superior Family room with Sea View just for the two of us. Bottled water at no extra cost was left each day. The restaurant could get busy at times, but understandably Covid regulations meant extra precautions were necessary & the staff & Maitre D were always so friendly & helpful.
The pools looked nice, but a bit too noisy so we went to the private beach across a busy road. This would be a worry if we'd had children with us. The hotel supplied beach towels & these were clean every day.
Our location was excellent to taxi or bus into Rhodes town. As we were only away for 7 nights, we didn't do many trips other than a boat trip to Lindos which was well worth the visit although very busy. Rhodes Old Town was stunning & because there were so few crowds this was an good time to visit.
We wished that we could have stayed longer. Everyone from the bellboy, reception, cleaners & restaurant staff provided first class service & in particular Amel at the Guest Relations desk who helped us with everything from our inability to understand the shower to printing off our Passenger Location forms. Nothing was too much bother & always greeted with a big smile.

We spent 12 days at this hotel from the 26/9 until 8/10 on an all inclusive basis travelling from Birmingham courtesy of Jet 2.We arrived at 9.30pm too late for dinner but we went for much needed drinks in the piano bar whilst the cases were taken to the room.
The room location is key to your holiday, we requested a pool view and were allocated no 405 which had a fantastic view of the pool and sea and more importantly had the sun on a large balcony from 2pm until it set. The sea view rooms in September did not get the sun at all and the rooms at the back were very dark as the outlook was into the mountain behind.
The hotel did their best in view of the Covid situation but they were understaffed which caused delays in service in the Piano and Rooftop Bars and the restaurant.
The staff were excellent and did everything to try and assist.
The food generally was excellent with plenty of choice.
The hotel beach was well situated with luxury sun beds, but no drinks facilities and you need shoes to get over those stones into the sea!!..
The staff around the pool area were excellent, particularly Sam behind the bar and the animation team.
The evening entertainment was limited as you would expect but the Violinist put on a none stop 2 hour show and was brilliant.
My real gripe was having to get up at 7am to secure a sun bed in the pool area.
This is not acceptable for a 5 star hotel.
The area does not open until 9am and there were signs to that effect, this made absolutely no difference despite complaining to the pool attendant and eventually hotel management. The offenders I am afraid to say were the English
Also the white grid area around the pools were filthy and required specialised cleaning.
This issue took the edge of the holiday and why I would rate no higher than 4 star..
The island and the general Greek economy has taken a battering due to Covid but the Pool area situation could have easily been resolved.

Stayed at the Olympic Palace for 10 days in August, 2 adults and 2 children (under 10), all inclusive. First time in Rhodes, but have visited other places in Greece many times.

The hotel itself, although quite old has had a recent update. This mainly means lots of browns and beiges, which gives it a modern feel although also makes things a bit dingy. The hotel is generally clean and our room was a good size for the four of us and offered a scenic sea view.

The swimming pools were okay, but a bit undersized for number of guests as it gets very busy at peak times. There is also very few shaded outside areas around the pool (or generally) and only a very small area to eat outside (the main restaurant does not have any outside eating area). The grounds are very well kept with some attractive areas for sitting, but these are not shaded so largely useless until the evening. Generally I think there are some layout issues with the hotel (including location of bars and the mini disco).

Location wise it's very close to Rhodes Town, a short and inexpensive taxi ride away. Very convenient. There are also plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. The hotel beach is just across the road, but on this side of the island it's always windy/a little rough. The hotel, disappointingly, doesn't offer any food or drink facilities on the beach. However, you can easily get to other, better, beaches on the island.

The food is of a good standard and there is something for everyone. There is a full range of food available at breakfast. However, the dinner buffet is generic and uninspiring. It's all well cooked with decent ingredients, but some of the daily themes are tenuous and the food remains very similar every night. There needs to be something a bit special each night to really elevate things (on two occasions ouzo was offered on the way in, and on another there was a separate station with beef being carved, needs to be more of this). We also found it odd that despite an an excellent bread selection and a range of dips, there were no pitas. A small touch we really did appreciate on food was, arriving late on the first day (after 11), we were provided sandwiches and fruit in our room.

Ending on a real positive; the customer service. Everyone here was fantastic from front desk, restaurant, bars, cleaners etc. Absolutely got this nailed.

Spent 2 weeks at Olympic Palace in early October.

As we entered the hotel we was greeted by a lovely lady at the reception with a big smile and very welcoming. Check-in was quick and swift.

Got to our room a family room with sea view which was very good, large room plenty of wardrobe space, large comfortable bed. Open the balcony door and the views were amazing, chairs with a table and 2 comfortable loungers on the balcony so the balcony was quiet large. Cleaners did a wonderful job everyday replenished towels and fresh bedding.

Restaurant was shambolic at breakfast time no social distancing and it was like a warehouse canteen, you had to line up outside the restaurant at times the line was going back as far as the main entrance to the hotel. Food wasn’t all that good to be fair although the fresh pastries were a hit thats about it. To make life easier for dinner they had a booking system which was slightly better but the options were repetitive so we opted to eat out each night.

Snack bar was a hit for lunch the guys up there do a fantastic job and are always happy and chatty which is what you want. Food is okay although was sent cold pizza a couple of times.

Guest relations must be a one of the worst ive come across no help what so ever tried to get a birthday cake sent to our room as it was my partners birthday and she said it would cost €30 sorry but as a five star hotel it should come complimentary so was a big let down so went out to Rhodes town and bought one myself.

Loungers are limited by the pool with Covid but people think its okay to leave their towels out after midnight but karma did strike one morning when it started to rain so if your one of them people shame on you! Beach is a stone beach no sand however the loungers are a lot more comfortable and limited spaces if your up late you will miss out on a lounger.

Overall I wouldn’t visit this hotel again as its not what i expected from a so called “5* hotel”

Dear Valued Guest, Thank you for taking the time to bring your feedback to our attention. We are sorry to read that there were certain issues that caused some level of dissatisfaction during your stay with us. Firstly, we would like to warmly thank you for your kind comments in regards to our personnel as well as for the room allocated. All our staff are doing their very best to provide a good service however the covid19 protection measures in place unfortunately slow down the service process significantly. Despite our efforts in extending the service hours of our departments, certain queues were still formed during peak service times however this phenomenon lasted a couple of days that the hotel was high in occupancy rather than a regular occurrence that reflects the overall service levels of this hotel. Since the beginning of the season and as substantiated by the various reviews made online, the hotel’s service had worked flawlessly and would like to apologize once again for any inconvenience experienced during your stay. At this point we would like to emphasize that we chose to maintain the covid19 procedures in place even when occupancy levels had risen. There are very few hotels on the island that chose guests’ safety over “simplifying” covid19 procedures and whilst we did expect to receive the adverse comments on review websites these couple of days, we felt that our staff and guests’ safety was, is and will be of paramount importance to us. As far as the hotel’s cuisine is concerned, we understand that food taste is something very subjective and a matter of personal taste and can only apologise again should we were not able to fully meet your expectations. Without wishing to be unsympathetic, the hotel does not advertise to provide complimentary birthday cakes and can only apologize again should this was expected to be provided. Having said that, we do offer a complimentary bottle of wine on such special events. We very much hope that overall, you still had an enjoyable time and that would consider revising Rhodes island again the in the future. Kind Regards, Olympic Palace Team

We are on the last day of a 3 week stay at this hotel, booked last minute after everything else this year had cancelled.
The hotel was spotlessly clean, and had good Covid measures in place with all staff wearing masks and gloves.
The restaurant staff had full ppe on you were served from the buffet rather than helping yourself. Yes this sometimes meant you had to queue to be seated or served, but never for very long & I would much rather do that and feel safe.
The food was okay, we were staying all inclusive but did mix it up with eating out sometimes and to be fair we hadn’t paid all inclusive prices, compared to holidays in the past, so overall thought it was good value. Some of the bars and the al la carte restaurant were closed due to Covid but there was always a menu to choose from with 3 main options on if you didn’t fancy the buffet.
What did however make the holiday was the staff, every person you saw said hello, the waiters were chatty and the maitre d was there morning and night ensuring everyone was seated. You also saw the hospitality manager Yannis regularly helping out both in the restaurant and the pool snack bar.
The cleaners were thorough with bedding changed everyday and requests for extra pillows were speedily addressed.
The girls in the Lounge bar were great, always pleased to see you and they soon knew what drinks we liked and had them ready as we approached.
We must however call out Vasilis on reception, he went out of his way to make our holiday special, doing a few things without request. He always had time for a chat and helped when we needed tickets and health declarations printing so we could island hop on the ferry. He is a real credit and an asset to the hotel and we can understand why he has worked here for 15 years .

Rhodes is not somewhere we have visited before, if we were to revisit we would definitely consider this hotel again.
A great holiday in difficult times thanks to all the staff for making it enjoyable.
