We'd booked our stay almost two years previously and had to postpone our visit twice due to covid restrictions, but we finally had our 9-night stay in this wonderful property, and have to say that it was well worth the wait.
The setting in pretty Sofokleous Square was perfect, and our room 'View of Rhodes' had its own private entrance and our own little garden complete with hot tub.
The room was gorgeous, and we spent an hour each evening before dinner just relaxing and listening to the sounds of the local restaurants firing up before their evening customers arrived.
Breakfast was delicious and served on a terrace with views over the rooftops and towards the Palace of the Grand Master of the Knights. I am still dreaming of my smoked salmon and avocado with scrambled eggs, served by the lovely friendly lady who looked after the guests' breakfast needs.
Rhodes Old Town was one of the most beautiful places we have ever visited and we felt privileged to stay inside the walls, once the day trippers and cruise ship tours had left for the day.
After seeing some of the large, all-inclusive monstrosities strung along the coastline in all directions towards Ialyssos and Falaraki, I am at a loss as to why people would choose to stay in such places, when they could be spending their money in smaller, locally run hotels and restaurants.
As we left we were presented by Marios with a lovely book of photos by the owner, Nikos Kasseris, which will always serve as a reminder of our fabulous stay.
A mention should be made to Michael, who collected and returned us to the airport, who entertained us during the journey.
I cannot recommend this wonderful hotel enough.

Definitely recommend staying in Old Town Rhodes and at In Camera Art Boutique Hotel!! We were the first guests to be welcomed in this adorable boutique hotel located in the center of all the action (though still peaceful and quiet overall). Just walk out your door to reach the cute shops, restaurants and sites. The hotel took all precautions to ensure the safety of their guests and staff during the COVID-19 pandemic. We really appreciated that. From sanitizing everything throughout our stay, providing sanitizer for us, wearing masks / face shields, and keeping distance. Our room was big and perfect for our little family of three. We very much enjoyed our personal hot tub and used it daily. And the breakfast each morning was delicious! Marios did everything to ensure we were happy - and we were throughout our time there. The owner even gave us one of his photography books as a present. Thanks all at Camera Art Boutique Hotel for allowing us to have a wonderful, fun and relaxing vacation!!

Our second visit to In Camera to celebrate our ruby anniversary.
All correspondence before arrival was dealt with efficiently by Marios , we treated ourselves to the Forms of Light Suite.
The suite is beautiful, 3 storeys but help is offered with your luggage and the icing on the cake is the huge terrace where you overlook the whole of Rhodes Old Town, the Palace, the sea and beyond to Turkey - what a view to enjoy from the hot tub, many seats, sunbeds and even a swinging chair with total privacy!
The bedding, toiletries are of the highest quality with ample hanging space for clothes.
We were lucky to meet with Mr Nikos a couple of times as my husband shares his passion of photograph - such a kind, gentle man with phenomenal knowledge.
Breakfasts are superb served by the friendliest lady - fresh orange juice, choice of coffee and tea, hot and cold choices all served on a pretty terrace with indoor seating if a little windy.
Marios kindly arranged transfers from the airport and to our next destination, booked restaurants, advised us how best to get to the port with limited time and was just a star throughout.
The hotel is perfectly situated for exploring Rhodes Old Town in the prettiest of squares with very good restaurants.
Thankyou again for a wonderful week and we will return to see you all.
Love Debbie and Dave Green xxx

An incredible boutique Hotel nestled in the heart of the Medieval Town of Rhodes. Easily accessible both from the airport and especially from the port. We’ve stayed in the master suite “Forms of light” located on the top floor , Offering breathtaking views to the sea as well as all the monuments of the Old town.

State of the art amenities and top class aesthetics throughout our room, that is designed and based upon camera work. As the property belongs to the most celebrated Photographer of the island Mr. Nikos Kasseris. A lot of traditional Rhodian elements and ornaments will be found also decorating the room .

The jacuzzi on the terrace was a highlight. Easy to operate and the views from it , purely stunning (night picture attached ) . Excellent for relaxation.

Breakfast offering was wide. From nuts to jams/condiments , fresh pastries & fresh fruit to specialty coffees and eggs made to order.

Health and safety is a priority here. The hotel followed strictly all the Hygienic protocols & regulations that have been put in place for Covid.

To conclude , I would like to express my recognition to the manager of the Hotel Mr. Marios Martakis for sorting out all our needs with professionalism and efficiency. He was there for any of our requirements.

We will definitely be back.

Thank you In Camera!

This is one of the best hotels I have stayed in. It has only a small number of rooms and each one is individually furnished and decorated. A number have outside hot tubs which I would recommend as a great place to unwind at the end of a busy day.
Breakfast is included and is served on a lovely terrace with views over the old town. There are always freshly cooked eggs available.
The location of the hotel is perfect, right in the centre of Old Rhodes Town. There are plenty of restaurants and bars very near by but it far enough from the main tourist area to be very peaceful.
However by far the best thing about this hotel is the service. It is so friendly and efficient and anticipated our needs! There are also little touches that add a further gloss such as free bottle of sparkling wine on arrival. I will definitely be going back next year.

We are so grateful to the staff at In Camera Art Hotel - we were greeted by our wonderful host Marios who collected us at the gate. (You are unable to drive inside the walls). Marios proceeded to give us the most wonderful top tips such as restaurants and tourist attractions. We stayed in the Forms of Light room and it's views were incredible offering an (almost) 360 degree view of the city. Would highly recommend the suite for either a couple or two couples (due to having two bedrooms). The hot tub on the roof was heavenly. Would love to come back!

This beautiful hotel is located on a picturesque square, within walking distance of all of the unique attractions of Rhodes Old Town. Within a few metres of the hotel are some wonderful tavernas to dine at and watch the world go by.
Our room was spacious and well appointed and led out into a pretty garden. On hot afternoons, after returning from our adventures, we enjoyed using the jacuzzi in the garden to cool down and relax in.
Each morning we ate on a sunny terrace, overlooking the roof tops of the ancient city. Breakfast was delicious and set us up for the day ahead.
Everyone at the hotel was informative, friendly and welcoming. I would not hesitate to recommend staying at the In Camera Art Boutique Hotel.

Our family of 5 stayed in the forms of light suite - we enjoyed having three floors to spread out. The top floor is perfect for the grownups, because the door locks, the room has its own bath and it opte a to the very large patio with hot tub and incredible views of Old Town Rhodes.

Vaso - who prepares the excellent breakfasts - is a true gem. She is a joyful, kind and welcoming woman.

We arrived late at night and the hotel arranged convenient transportation from the airport at an additional fee. This was necessary given that the streets of old town are winding, narrow and sometimes even unnamed.

We stayed three nights and I regret no staying longer. There is much to do and see in Old Town, and In Camera was a cool and comfortable respite.

Pictures are all view from our rooftop patio. It was breathtaking!

My husband and I have just returned from 10 days at In Camera and were so pleased with our choice. We were beautifully looked after, fed absolutely delicious and generous breakfasts (and are now on diets!), stayed in a suite kept scrupulously clean, and were in the perfect location for walking to all the things to see in town and all the restaurants you could ever need.
As well as restaurants Marius recommended lovely beaches for our non town days (Tsambika was a great trip, plus Lindos of course - both straightforward on the bus from town, and a smart beach club just a 10 Euro cab ride at Santa Marina ).
Like others we stayed in Forms of Light as we enjoy having a private terrace and sun beds to relax on but wow, it was the best and biggest terrace with the best 360 degree view we’ve EVER stayed at!(Hot tub a nice extra too if that’s your thing). However if stairs aren’t for you (and there are 2 flights in the suite) we felt sure the other rooms were just as lovely.
We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves so thank you everyone at In Camera, we’d love to come back!

We spent several nights in the Places in Suspension villa- we truly enjoyed ourselves and the staff, and only wish we stayed longer. If we return to Rhodes, this is where we'll stay!

George who greeted us and took us into the Old City from our parking spot just outside was a great and proactive communicator, even calling us in the morning to ensure that we were coming down before their friendly cook wrapped up her custom service. He also made arrangements for a private tour of the Ancient City with a talented guide whose price was a fraction of what we would have paid for 3 of us to join a group tour.

The complex of suites and villa have been skillfully restored and look like they've been in place for hundreds of years. Its not located in a back-alleyway as are many properties but sits on a square that makes it seem more open and inviting. Our villa was extraordinarily spacious, and finding a washing machine was a pleasant surprise. The two balconies provided broad, relaxing vistas and the interior was well-appointed and very comfortable. While we only occupied 2 of the 3 bedrooms, we shifted from the master bedroom after one night to one of the spacious upstairs bedrooms as we found the platform bed a bit hard for our liking.

Breakfasts were great with several daily specials, whether crepes, savory pancakes or traditional eggs, in addition to freshly squeezed orange juice from the farm of a relative of the owner. Just GO!

Dear davidandrose1, Thank you for your 5 star review and score! We are delighted to read such a detailed, yet insightful review of your stay with us! We always appreciate when our guests take some of their time to describe their experiences with us, as it is frequently a good sign that our services have borne fruit – your case included. We are happy to know George managed to live up to your expectations. As the youngest member of the “In Camera” family, kind comments like yours help and encourage him to strive for greater heights as a receptionist. We are also happy to know you enjoyed the private tour he organized for you, as it is – indeed – a more enjoyable and cost-efficient way to learn about the history of the Old City. Furthermore, your thoughtful comments about the villa and the hotel itself could not go unnoticed. The Kasseris family has worked hard to create and provide a place worthy of the “boutique” label, so they are more than pleased to read that they achieved just that. They also appreciate that you took the opportunity to enjoy the villa from all of its aspects throughout your stay. Finally, Vaso thoroughly enjoyed the mornings she accommodated you on the breakfast terrace. She would be excited to know that her culinary skills have satiated her lovely guests once more. Overall, everybody from the “In Camera” family is glad to have served you during your stay with us and they are looking forward to your next stay in our hotel! Our warmest regards, The “In Camera” team

Dear Mr. Eddie T, Good morning from Rhodes. We are delighted that you are considering our hotel for your stay in Rhodes. Our hotel inside the Medieval city and the nearest beach is Elli beach only 15 minutes walking distance. Please find bellow more beaches on Rhodes island. 1) Kallithea Beach which is 9km away from Rhodes city. It has many different coves where each one has a small beach-bar or tavern. The main one though is Kallithea Springs which has a big café-bar, museum and an organized beach with umbrellas. 2) Anthony Quinn beach. Located 15km away from Rhodes city. It is a unique beach where the movie “Cannons of Navarone” was filmed and afterwards actor Anthony Quinn wanted to buy it so it named after his name. It has a café at the top and as you will go down the steps you will discover the beauty of the beach. 3) Traounou beach at Ladiko (Or the Caves as we the locals call it). It is located just after Anthony Quinn almost 20 km away from Rhodes. There is a tavern at the parking area where you can buy your refreshments and after wards walk on the left of the beach (around 5 minutes walk) in order to reach the caves. There are sunbeds or you can just sit free at the beach. It is the very suitable for snorkeling due to the caves and the variety of rocks and sea life around them. 4) Afandou beach. Afandou beach stars from Ladiko, from Traounou beach and it ends at Kolymbia. It is 5 km stretch beach with peddles and sand. It is a less developed beach with link isolated areas and some organized with sunbeds and watersports. 5) Tsambika beach. It is a sandy beach with a lot of beach bars. It is not suitable for snorkeling as there are not any corals or anything but sand in the sea but the sea is very shallow up to your knee so it makes it suitable for children. 6) If you want to discover isolated beaches, once you will rent a car I suggest you to go further south of Rhodes where you can find crystal clear water. The name of the beaches there are Lindos, Pefkous, Kiotari beach and Gennadi beach. We remain available for any further inquiries you may have. Kind Regards,

Dear D2030XUsa, Good afternoon from Rhodes. There are plenty of things that you can do in Rhodes. Firstly since our hotel is located in the heart of the Medieval City you can spend one full day exploring the Palace of the Knights, the Archeological Museum and the walk around the walls tour. Rest at our hotel in our hot tub will give you strench to have a nice evening walk in the Medieval's cities streets where you can find alot of souvenir shops, cafeterias and finish you day dining in one of the restaurants from our suggestion list. Second day you can rent a car and explore the East side of the island. Starting from the most well know beaches, Kalithea beach, Anthony Quiin, Tsampika beach and of course before going even further to Lindos you can stop at Seven Springs. Last visit can be Lindos where you can walk up the castle enjoy the unique view and have a lunch in one the traditional tavernas there. If you with you can even go further Soth the isalnd untill Prasonisi. Thrid day you can visit the West side. Starting from Filerimos mountain, Butterfly valley, visit the Ancient Kamiros and then have lunch in of the traditional villages such as Empona located up the mountains. If you can children, a full day at Water Park will be a great idea. The next day you can book a full day sailing tour where you can see all the East side and all above mentioned locations from the sea and then end you day visiting Rhodes Town having dinner in of the restaurants. Another day can be spend by visiting Symi island. Daily ferries are in route starting from 08:00 and coming back around 18:00 so that can be a full day or you can also stay for a night in Symi island. All in all if you will have a 5 to 6 days visit will full day schedule you can see and explore most of the Island. We hope our message helped you planing your holidays and we would be glad to welcome you, discuss and arrange your daily schedule in order to have a memorable holidays with us. We are always remain at your disposal. Kind regards,

I would like to inform you that the hotel is located in the Medieval City, and only the residents are allowed to drive inside the “walls”. However there is a free parking space outside St. John gate. The parking space we suggest is approximately 5 minutes walking distance from the hotel, next to the local stadium Diagoras.

The best way is to contact the hotel and ask it to organise its driver to pick up the elderly passenger from airport. Taxi does not go to the gate of hotel.
