We stayed at Splendour Resort for 5 nights as a mini moon straight after our wedding. We arrived in the early hours and although the check in was a little officious, we were grateful to be in our room within 5 minutes of arrival.

We were upgraded to a suite with jacuzzi which was amazing. The room was huge with a separate lounge, bedroom, jacuzzi and bathroom. The only downside was there is no private balcony/terrace area to enjoy an evening drink.

The hotel is well kept and the view is incredible. Although it is not a Caldera view, we still saw some great sunrises. The pool is not huge, but clean and it is refreshing to see that sunbeds cannot be reserved so there is no rush in the morning. The only thing to note is that there are only two umbrellas so if you wanted to stay in the shade you would have to move around.

We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis. Breakfast had plenty of selection for the size of the hotel and there was never a queue to be seated. If you are expecting an all inclusive style breakfast spread you will be disappointed, but we found there we everything that we needed.

The bar is pricey at €7 for a beer and €20 for a sandwich, but you are only a 10 minute walk to local shops where you can find food and drink much cheaper.

We ate dinner in the main restaurant once and at €35 per person for a buffet it is over priced and the selection isn’t huge, but if you are looking for convenience it works.

For us location couldn’t be faulted, minutes away from the footpath that goes between Fira and Oia. 10 minute walk to Oia, 15 minute walk to Imerovigli and 20 minute taxi drive to Oia. About 10 minute taxi drive to the airport,

All the staff we encountered were lovely and worked so hard. Thank you for a great stay!

Average, certainly not 5* as UK expect. Had a large family suite with private pool. Pool used once for literally 5 seconds as feeezzzzinggg cold!! Such a shame really.. nobody with same suites with pools appeared to use them either due to them being so cold/un heated (15 of them)
Half board evening meal menu terrible!! Breakfast basic.
Lunch time - expect 1-1.5 hour wait for food.
Very well located for Fira/Imerovigli.
£35 taxi ride to Oia or you can take the bus. 20 min walk into Fira to get bus.
Would actually stay again due to location and you can choose to eat lunch instead of dinner.
Shop for water, wine, beer and snacks locally
Mini fridge in our room
Cleaners done a great job

My wife and I had a very enjoyable stay at Splendour Resort, it’s located in Fira which is in the middle of the island and have to say a great location, what you won’t know is this hotel is walking distance just across the road with great views, restaurants and friendly locals. Hotel is mostly suited I would say to couples but did see a mother and baby during our stay, we had a suite room with a pool, which during a pandemic we thought was a wise choice and contacted the hotel directly to discuss details , well worth it and without say all staff were very friendly and welcoming. Only comment we had a leak in our room on the air conditioning unit but apart from that a very enjoyable stay.

The splendour resort boast 2 plaques at the entrance showing 5 stars above the resorts name. This is highly questionable!

Booking was not possible on the website but was available via on line agents. I contacts the hotel directly and was advised a room was available at 170€ per night for bed and breakfast.

I arranged transfers from the port directly with them as well as to the airport at the end
The taxi met us at the port and took us to the hotel where I discovered that I was required to pay in cash there and then. This was unexpected!

Having paid, I checked in and all seemed well until they advised I would be given a free upgrade to a better room the next day. I accepted!

The standard room was large and over 2 floors with two single beds on the upper floor with the entrance. Downstairs was accessed by a very narrow and seemingly unsafe spiral staircase. Here we found a double bed and the bathroom but the room was windowless and clearly underground

The following day I packed up and left the bags for the hotel to move. I was advised they’d come to the pool and give me a key. They never did! So after lunch I went for a key and sure enough the bags had been moved.

The new room was large with a good view to the east. The bed was comfortable and facilities adequate but not luxurious.

Breakfast was a wide ranging buffet but it was the same each day and quality was distinctly average to poor. There was no coffee service or indeed and offer of any service.

This area also served lunch as did a small pool bar. Prices were higher than they should have been. Service was pleasant but slow and 14€ for a club sandwich was ridiculous. A small beer started at 5€!

On the day of departure I had hoped to get a late checkout, for which I was happy to pay as our flight was at 7pm. I was offered 12 noon. I therefore asked for somewhere to change and shower and was shown a rather grubby outside shower. This I used only to discover it was cold water only,
I paid for the extras and taxes- bizarrely 2 separate transaction and then waited in reception which was revealing. A steady stream of guest complained about room allocation and it was clear that, like me, they were having to move on the 2nd or 3rd night. At one stage there was pandemonium as the reception is an old cave and quite small, so when 2 or 3 people talk the noise is deafening.

The taxi arrived about 5 minutes late and before he put the bags in the van he asked to be paid in cash!!

As we left both staff in reception ignored us. There was no “thank you for staying” or “please come again” nothing on the back 800€ for 4 nights.

It’s all about the money here. Everything must be paid in advance and service levels, facilities and food simply don’t justify the nightly rates or prices charged.

Some staff are outstanding, in particular an Albanian young man who seemed to work around the clock.

I spent 4 days here but I’d never go back to this hotel

We’re just back from a lovely week in Santorini. The Splendour hotel is in an ideal location for exploring Fira, and very close to the pedestrian walkway to Fira or Oia, and close to shops.
We had a junior suite with private pool which was a lovely room kept very clean and with a great view, and quiet. The pool was cold but ok once you were in :-) The super king bed was extremely comfy and there was a big bathroom with plenty of towels changed every day even if you didn’t want them changed! A bit of a waste. There was a useful fridge but the coffee/tea tray wasn’t replenished whilst we were there. Go for a junior suite if you can as the other rooms don’t look as good, and the shared pool area is quite small. Breakfast was a buffet which was fine, but the chef didn’t start cooking pancakes until after 9.15am, and we never saw any omelettes cooked. I get the feeling the kitchen was short staffed. Be warned that if you go for the additional half board option, that there is no choice on the menu. One starter, 2 main courses and one dessert. Heaven help you if you are a vegetarian! Sadly no local Greek dishes were served and the portion sizes were fairly small. Considering the hotel says it’s a 5 star hotel, I would expect more from the restaurant. Also drinks are very expensive - 12 euros for a glass of wine. The staff are very friendly. We did enjoy the room and the location but the hotel is definitely not 5 star as advertised.

I say the hotel is tired as it needs a spruce up. Furnishing are looking a little scruffy, particularly our room furniture. The sun loungers looked like farther Jack had been using them. Our bathroom smelt of sewers if we didn’t leave the window open and the maid service was a little hit and miss. One day everything would be cleaned beautifully and the fresh towels arranged in swans ect the next day there would be no coffee sachets or milk and we’d have to ask for some at reception.
On the plus side all the staff are very friendly and helpful, particularly the porter, he seems to work tirelessly and always has a smile and hello.

A fantastic resort ticket away 10 mins walk from Fira which is CENTRE of the island. The rooms are large by any standards and the most amazing hospitality experience offered by the team led by Ms. Alexandra the Manager of the resort. As soon as she realized we were traveling with older children she offered a compliment upgrade to a 3 bedroom suite, with awesome sea views. Dinner on Christmas Eve was lovely, quiet and efficient service. Overall a wonderful place to stay in Santorini 👍🤝🙏

Arrived for ten days with my husband and were upgraded to a private pool and suite as our room wasn’t ready. It was taken off us 24 hours later and we were then shown to our standard accommodation.
The room was large. Lovely comfy bed. Kettle was broken. The shower only had a hook that was attached to the wall which was it to your waist length. It didn’t have a shower above your head per say.
Bar very expensive. 7 euro for small methos and 3 euro for water. Food was over priced. 24 euro for one club sandwich!
The pool area is nice but it needs more summer anthem music rather than Robbie Williams belting out at 10.15am
Again this is my personal choice. But others sat round the pool said the same thing.
There was a very nice man who took our cases to our rooms and he was very polite.
Other than that nobody spoke to us and we felt there was no personal touch.
I’d rate this hotel as a 3+ star. Defo not a 5.
I wouldn’t stay there again. Not worth it for the money we paid.

Day 1. GM Alexandra has already made the trip an experience you would yearn for. After seeing some skeptical reviews on the welcoming, I can hand on heart say that they are complete BS. Within seconds we were made to feel welcomed and without sounding too cheesy, she quite clearly has a passion and desire to fulfil her job role as GM to the fullest which is why I feel compelled to write this.

The team have currently been incredibly attentive and offered advice on excursions around the island with minimal fuss.

Service for me is 9/10’s of the trip and Alexandra for me, has made sure that’s been delivered.

I would personally recommend the Jnr suite with pvt pool for not only a spacious room and luxury of a private pool but it gives you unrivalled views across this amazing island.

I would welcome any messages for further clarification/ advice if you needed a more in depth review but given the current service offered and room, I’ve genuinely felt compelled to write this review.

We really enjoyed our stay in Splendour Resort.
Our room was spacious and clean.
The stuff is really friendly, cheerful and willing to help: they gave us all the information needed about the island, suggested restaurants, tours, “must do” things and even arranged us transfers from and to the port.
We rented quad bikes from the rental located in the hotel at a really good price with the man there being so kind and helpful.
We highly recommend this hotel and can’t wait to meet you guys again!

The junior suite with private pool is downstairs and there are rooms above with balconies overlooking. We did not at any point though have people on their balconies above looking down whilst we used the pool as they were either out for the day or using the hotel main pool. Hope that helps.
